About A Quart Low On Estrogen

New elected Representative Lauren Boebert has announced her plan to violate the law in Washington, DeeCee.

Well, that’s just real attention-getting cute.

Washington, D.C.’s police chief said Monday he intends to reach out to GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert about her intention to carry a Glock handgun in the city, which has strict limits on carrying concealed firearms.

She can carry it unloaded to her office, and leave it there. She can’t wave it around and spout what a tough ole gal she is. She cannot have it loaded at any time.

Girl, if you intend to go to DeeCee to have movies made of yourself being a show horse, Senator Marsha Blackburn already has that job.  And if you’re just planning on opening a branch in the House, Jim Jordan already sucked out all the show horse in the room.

  1. Looks like Louie is getting some competition in STOOPID!

  2. Doesn’t she realize that she’s “government” now?

  3. My deepest feeling about politicians is that they are dangerous lunatics to be avoided when possible and carefully humored; people, above all, to whom one must never tell the truth.

    ~ W. H. Auden

  4. How does she think she is getting that Glock into the building?

Just chilling how she, like so many of the gun nuts, thinks 2nd amendment rights are “let me strut around with fire arms” and not “let me be willing to be recruited by my country for sudden militia needs.”

    4
  5. “Government does NOT get to tell me or my constituents how we are allowed to keep our families safe.”

so she AND her family are planning on living in her congressional office?

    5
  6. I guess nobody mentioned her job is to legislate, not violate. Will we hear the word UNCONSTITUTIONAL shrieked at rocket launch decibel levels in the near future?

  7. RepubAnon says:

Another fool who thinks a gun in the hand means the world by the tail. Carrying a gun makes these folks feel safer, meaning they’re more likely to get themselves in trouble. Get a ouija board and ask that unfortunate preacher in Texas who was shot with his own pistol because he thought it meant he was “safe.”

  8. Steve from Beaverton says:

Rick, I’m pretty sure we’ll hear a lot of that noise on the 6th.
Rambo woman goes to Washington plays well for her repugnantican tough guys. Hope the DC police follow thru on their plan with her. Guessing they’ll have many more like her to deal with on 1/6.

  9. Jane & PKM says:

The inherent contradictions of a supposed government ‘representative’ waxing st00pid about what government does not get to tell her to do. Can’t wait until Speaker Pelosi tells her to slap a mask on her mug. fwiw Her middle name is Opal, but less like the gem and more like an Opie Dopey.

Keerap. The House has more verbal bomb throwing idiots than a quorum of Quack-a-Non covidiots.

Colorado, we bow to you. NV thought we had a problem returning moron Mark Amodei to Congress. You win. You have bigger problems.

    9
  10. And when she’s done strutting around showing how tough she is, she can go castrate hogs with Joni Ernst.

    10
  11. Jane & PKM @9; you win some, lose some. We traded Hickenlooper for Gardner in the Senate at least, but the Western Slope, where Boebert McGee is from, is way different from the Front Range which is where all the blue is in CO. But then, name me one state that doesn’t have at least one whack-a-doodle in their congressional contingent. And we won’t even talk about the state leges.

    11
  12. I wonder where she stands on the ‘well regulated’ portion of the 2A?

    12
  13. S Says @5: She may have to live in her car, with her family.

    13
  14. Jane & PKM says:

Bill R @11, without a doubt, sir. We can all name a few wingnuts who don’t fit with the liberal reputations of CA and NY. What you call Front Range and Western Slope is similar to the NV sliver east that borders Utah and the northern slice that abuts Iduho that would figuratively die without gerrymandering and literally die without wingnut welfare.

Republicons have been fighting free and fair elections since FDR. Probably before FDR; correction since day 1 of proposing a constitution and earlier. Shorter history: Tories to confederates to Republicons.

    14
  15. Karen Crosby says:

This Palin of the Western Slope is now is part of the government. Doesn’t she know that?

  16. thatotherjean says:

“Government does NOT get to tell me or my constituents how we are allowed to keep our families safe.”

” Government” may not get to tell your constituents where they are allowed to carry their guns, but the DC government and the Capitol Police can, and will, tell you that you can’t carry your gun on the floor of Congress. Unload it in your office, and leave it there. Put on a mask, too.

  17. Hey I live in NY and my Rep is Elise Stefanik R NY 21 of the impeachment hearing fame.
She announced today that she will object to certifying the election.

I just call her a TRAITOR FOR TRUMP.

  18. Steve from Beaverton says:

Then there’s TX Repugnantican Rep Chip Roy threatening civil war if they lose the Georgia runoff. Isn’t that what they’ve wanted for 4 years? Here we go, the TX connection again.

  19. Sandridge says:

OMFG! The MAGAots and trumpanzees are working themselves into a fever pitch for Wednesday’s Congressional certification of EC counts/results.
It looks like there are going to be record numbers of them in DC. They are bragging on being armed and ready to raise hell.
If the two Georgia Democratic Senate candidates win [yesss!] things are going to explode.
The next two days are going to be batshit crazy.

Just skim the article titles on this lunatic website, they make Freepers sound like third-graders :

  20. Elizabeth Moon says:

Dimwit Boebert’s oath of office–which she had to say out loud, like all the rest of them–is an oath to support and defend the *Constitution*…not just the second amendment.

And actually “government” does get to tell her and her constituents how they’re allowed to keep their families safe. And how they *should* keep their families safe, using sound, tested methods that include staying home, wearing masks, not driving drunk or otherwise impaired, and many other things including where not to show a weapon. (Probably just asking her if government is allowed to tell Black people how they are allowed to keep their families safe would open a teensy chink in her self-righteous armor. But maybe not.)

  21. john in denver says:

Colorado’s proud addition to the Qanon forces …

Her Glock announcement has already earned her some visibility, and DC police chief says there will be a conversation to clarify the law, the difference between the Capitol Building and the District as a whole, and that Representatives do not have any particularly immunity.

I’m confident she will get the attention she seeks … and perhaps a bit more.

  22. Harry Eagar says:

S @ 5 At least some congersmen do — or have — lived in their offices. Whole families, I dunno about that.

    22
  23. Government does pass laws & regulations for the safety of citizens, such as seat belt laws, not allowing indoor smoking, requiring commercial driver licensing, truck & airplane/air passenger safety, building standards, road & bridge standards, etc. etc. etc. I hope this “tough” gunslinger isn’t going to challenge those.

    23
  24. charles phillips says:

What would make me deliriously happy is having all these rwnj and qanon whack-a-doodles show up on the 6th for the ‘protest,’ armed, and all get arrested and deported to whatever red-neck sh@thole they’re from.

    24
  25. She can’t pack American heat?

    25
  26. As I recall Joni Ernst made a lot of **ll**** promises when she first came to The Hill. Look at her now. Some time ago a Congressman was caught with a gun in his briefcase. Claimed that he had just gotten off a plane and had forgotten about it in his rush to get to work. Cannot even remember his name. See a pattern here? **ll**** can buy you a lot of anonymity. “Fame” not so much.

  28. Maybe a Fascist in the Texas delegation can set her up with a dove hunting date with Darth Cheney and his 20-gauge.

    28
  29. Wow I didn’t know her pee pee was that small!
Lol was that a SNL skit? Heck, the way she threw her chi chi’s around, they could ‘poke your eye out’.
She’s a textbook display of Conservative extremism, self centered to the core. Guns, Jesus, white entitlement, greed and Freedumb!!!

    29
  30. At about the 1:10 mark she talks about how dangerous DC is by walking through an outdoor storage unit facility. I guess you never know what you might run into in such a setting. Maybe something like this:

  31. In the defense of show horses, they are not involved voluntarily. No siree, they have to be caught, bathed, forced into bits and saddles. It’s show horse riders that cause the problems with their vanity and sometimes thoughtless cruelty.

These congressional bozos are riding the hobby horse named Sedition, and forcing old Constitution to do more work than he’s done since the 1860’s.

Let’s hope the working horse riders stay united and save this fragile experiment.

  32. Yellowstone says:

I live in a gun-toting western state where right-wing clowns like to openly carry.

A few months ago I was at Costco when a man dressed exactly like the cartoon character Yosemite Sam pulled up in a beat to hell pick-up truck. He strode into the store with a six-gun strapped to his side. Of course, he attracted a lot of attention because he looked unhinged.

Perhaps Lauren Boebert should dress as Annie Oakley if she wants people in Congress to take notice of her. Send in the clowns.

    32
  33. Replying to myself at #23, I’ve now heard that Boebert has been caught not buckling up her kids in either car seats or seat belts. I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised.

My older son (now laughingly) still gripes at me for how long I made him use a booster seat in the car (well, he was still short enough that the belt went across his neck without the booster). He’s now 6’2″ and has to worry more about having enough head and leg room. Ha!
