Abbott’s Border Stunt Costs Texas a New Railway
Mexico’s economic minister announce last week that a new railway from Mexico to Canada for international trade is no longer going to come through Texas, but will cross into New Mexico, 20 miles west of El Paso. The reason? Texas is no longer considered “a reliable trading partner” after Abbott’s idiotic stunt last month that caused weeks of chaos at US/Mexico border crossings, costing Texas about $4 billion in lost trade and spoiled produce. Now Abbott (Mini Trump) has cost Texas billions more by losing a rail line that’s going to connect the port of Mazatlan in Mexico to Winnipeg in Canada. Laredo and Dallas were scheduled to be on the route, but no more.

1Ms. JJ through your efforts and those of Mr. Maxey, you’re so close to turning Texas blue. It’s similar to this in our remote northern NV district and other places. We just can’t seem to “educate” those voters hellbent on voting against their own interests.
2Poor Ted Cruz won’t be able to take the train if the weather gets so bad that he can’t flee by plane.
3For YEARS now the consortium trying to build a high speed rail line in Texas hasn’t been able to get the land they need. Mexico probably figures NM will be more willing to help on that point.
4If Beto loses to this clown, it will be another example of Democratic political malpractice. Texas deserves better politicians and I hope Beto has learned. Go after Republicans and hand then a rope with an anchor attached when they are floundering.

6Most of the rail route for a Side-Step & Northern is already in place. Someone would have to build a rail line to connect the New Mexican part (which is part of an Albuquerque—El Paso route) with the Mexican lines running to Juarez. Such a line could run into NM and not cross Gregg’s and Dan’s borders
