A Whole Boat Load of New Democrats

April 06, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

(Guys, I apologize.  I finished this a couple of hours ago and forgot to upload it.  What day is it?)

Trump’s Acting Secretary of the Navy (Everybody is “acting” in the Trump administration – no vetting, no vote) shot off his mouth while screaming with tone deafness.

He called Capt. Brett Crozier “stupid,”  in front of the sailors onboard.

The image of Capt. Crozier walking off the USS Theodore Roosevelt for the last time with sailors chanting his name will go down in history was one of the most moving minutes in this whole damn nightmare.  Crozier has now tested positive for coronavirus.

Along comes Acting Secretary Thomas Modly and spoke to the sailors still onboard through a loudspeaker throughout the ship

Modly told the crew that their former commander, Capt. Brett Crozier, was either “too naive or too stupid” to be in command or that he intentionally leaked to the media a memo in which he warned about coronavirus spreading aboard the aircraft carrier and urged action to save his sailors.
“It was a betrayal. And I can tell you one other thing: because he did that he put it in the public’s forum and it is now a big controversy in Washington, DC,” Modly said, according to a transcript of remarks Modly made to the crew, copies of which have been provided to CNN by multiple Navy officials.

So, a controversy in Washington, D.C. is far, far worse than soldiers losing their lives.

And then get this piece of patronizing garbage.

Acting Secretary Modly.

Modly acknowledged Crozier’s popularity with the crew in his remarks to the sailors. “I cannot control or attempt to change whatever anger you have with me for relieving your beloved CO,” Modly said, using the slang for commanding officer. “I understand you may be angry with me for the rest of your lives.”

Okay, first of all: why the hell should Modly make how people feel about him an issue here.  This isn’t about him. What kind of idiot makes saving the lives of sailor about him? Oh wait, yeah, I forgot who appointed him.

“Your beloved CO.”  What the hell?  The men and women on that ship have put their lives on the line. Nobody has the right to patronize them.

On any other day in any other administration, this raging twit would get fired. Today, he’s just a mouthpiece for the boss.

Be social and share!

What’s most sickening is this man is a graduate of Canoe U [USNA] and taught at my Alma Mater, USAFA He served 7 years on active duty. [The minimum required of graduates.]
So…his one of the few people with at least some military experience on Mango Mussolini’s “team”.
Unfortunately he’s proven himself to be a member of the cult.

  2. Jane & PKM says:

Ms. Juanita Jean Herownself, even autocorrect doesn’t like that Covidiot* 45 acting idiot, Thomas Moldy. Moldy it remains because Covidiot* 45 is not worth the hassle of correcting the correction.

Someone send Acting Idiot Moldy a copy of the UCMJ. Nowhere in that document is it suggested that Captain Crozier should ever abandon his responsibilities to the crew of the USS Theodore Roosevelt as Commanding Officer. Covidiot* 45’s teensy little feelers are not a consideration nor is the ***king moron* part of the oath officers swear to uphold.

Same goes for Congress, Moscow Mitch. You swore your oath to the American people and US Constitution not the Toddler-in-Thief*.

    Modly:
“Hey so what if people die? The important thing here is, [childish chant] ‘Nobody loves me; Everybody hates me; I’ma go out in the garden and eat worms. And THEN you’ll be sorry!”

  4. Larry from Colorado says:

I wrote to both my Senators, asking they limit any “acting” appointment to 30 days without Senate approval.
Maybe if we all did that it would get some action?

What a sorry excuse for a Secretary of the Navy, “Acting” or otherwise. He deserves to be bounced halfway to the moon by the next president, if he doesn’t tick off Trump first, for being such an ass. In one sense, I hope he’s right. I hope the sailors on the Theodore Roosevelt do hate him for the rest of their lives, as much as they admire their Captain, who lost his job to save their lives.

  6. BarbinDC says:

One thing is for sure: this clown will never be confirmed by the Senate. I don’t care that he went to the Naval Academy; he is still an ignorant dope. Just like Pompeo–considered to be the worst Secretary of State ever (who went to West Poiint and then Harvard Law)–a gilded education can’t make up for a complete lack of character and good sense.

  7. Re “what day is it?”
    A lot of us are having this problem (considered a feature not a bug by some), so we’re considering ordering one of these;

I should have got one when I retired, but I “forgot”.

  8. One person in this story, Capt Crozier, would go down with his ship.
The other, Modly, would go down and kiss his boss’s a$$.

  9. Steve from Beaverton says:

Let’s say what this was- kissing up to Trump. He didn’t like bringing attention to a failure by his military leadership (including Mark Esper), sort of like his reaction to any whistleblower. Trump saw this as a direct criticism that might hurt his campaign. More Coronavirus bungling. Captain Crozier did what he had to do to protect his crew when his pleas for help were falling on deaf ears of shallow leaders. They were more afraid of pissing off Trump than doing the right thing. What choice did he have. I truly hope this is another rallying cry for voters to cleanse this country of the Trump administration.

    And from the Daily Mail:

‘Shut the F*** up’: What one sailor shouted when Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly flew to Guam and told fired aircraft carrier’s captain’s crew their hero ‘was too naive or too stupid to be a commanding officer’ [ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8192369/Acting-navy-secretary-trashes-coronavirus-aircraft-carriers-fired-captain-naive-stupid.html ]

What a vile, clumsy, talent-free government official. As if those Sailors haven’t suffered enough.

  12. Grandma Ada says:

Ah, Larry from CO – if only my senators weren’t Cruz/Cornyn. And Rick – you took the words right from my mouth.
I’m sure other commanders throughout the military are observing this and I hope it doesn’t keep them from doing the right thing for their men and women.

  13. Reagan made a good Democrat outta me when he fired me.

    13
  14. The Surly Professor says:

Jane&PKM: I don’t use autocorrect, but my brain also had a hard time reading his name without it turning into “Moldy”.

But for anyone else who saw the movie: doesn’t the guy look too much like Eraserhead? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eraserhead

    14
  15. I’ll be impressed by the sailors’ outrage if in the next election they no longer are voting Republican 2-1.

“Boat of new Democrats?” I wouldn’t bet on it. They just MIGHT not vote for Trump 2020 but even if that happens they will still vote for the rest of the Republican ticket. Because that’s “strong on defense” and “personal responsibility” or some other such bullshit.

  16. Elizabeth Moon says:

Speaking as a vet…here’s someone who needs a good old fashioned fragging. Can’t expect better from a Trumpazoid, but what a totally disgusting POS he is.

    16
  17. I would like to get this fa**y Modly in the Tahati ring! A good old knife fight would do a lot of good!

    17
  18. fenway fran says:

Another f’in idiot of 45’s entourage with really bad hair.

    18
  19. Does anyone else see a pattern here? With Trump it is all about Trump and now this has filtered down to Modly. It is way past time for the plug to be pulled on the White House swamp!

    19
  20. During the second week of the Democratic administration next January, Captain Crozier should be promoted to Admiral and made the head of the Joint Chiefs. He reminds me of Admiral Zumwallt from years long gone by. Not afraid to tell the truth.

I would also like to be a fly on the wall at the next USNA alumni reunion that Modly attends. After this I would hope he would be too ashamed to show is face at the Academy.
