A Thousand Words

Here are the Texas lawmakers who passed the anti-abortion bill.

(Click on the picture to see it full size.)

You’ll notice how the white men trapped the seven women in the middle so they couldn’t escape even if they wanted to.

And you’ll also note that Greg Abbott can’t even make the little heart thingy correctly.  Monkey see; monkey can’t even do.

Who is going to keep count of the number of deadly Covid cases that were carried outside this room to the vulnerable population?

And the race is on to copy the texas anti women’s rights act in other red states:

  2. Well, aside from the multitude of old white men, I too noticed that they stuck the (also white) women up there in front quite prominently. Blatant and pathetic. They should be ashamed.

Am I missing som-ten? Where are the white-ees?
Are they flashing some sort of see-kret insiders phallic mens code like the Hanoi Hilton “vacationers” of a few years ago?

  5. Avis Puckett says:

Miss Juanita, you really need to warn readers to put on sunglasses before viewing all this WHITE glare.

Okay, Texas Rethugs, you see a tax exemption that does not yet exist, I see an embryo that a woman is growing as part of her body. How come YOU get to choose for her?

  6. G Foresight says:

Is the photo caption “Plague Greg and his mostly white male tribe of Texas jihadists”?

CDC: “Long-standing systemic health and social inequities have put many people from racial and ethnic minority groups at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19.”

  8. Abbott is making the shape of his own heart: mis-formed.

  9. If only they hearted the poor that much.
If only they hearted the women & children who need medical care after the child is born.

If only they hearted those who want to vote that much.

    9
  10. No masks.

But what do you want to bet all (secretly) vaxxed…

Whole lotta creepy white conservatives. To hell with all of them.

  12. Steve from Beaverton says:

As far as I’m concerned, their symbols are of assholes. Dan Patrick’s is just weird and abbutts is of a big asshole. If I were a woman in the room, I’d be sticking up my middle finger but assume these women are controlled by men.

    12
  13. Wait a minute!! I just watched a Jim Acosta clip on the crazy day(s) that included a flag/sign with a uterus on it from a women’s right Texas group — Now I see it- Abbott was making the sign of a uterus! Gawd knows he’s probably actually not been near a real one in decades ~ yeah, it’s been a long day.

    13
  14. The women just need to turn round and punch the men in the goolys .

    14
  15. The Surly Professor says:

Who are those women? Probably Ken Paxton’s wife is there, but are the rest of them in the Texas Ledg? I’d like to see a caption to this photo with all the names listed. Thank you in advance to any of our Texas hands able to ID the folks. I promise not to form an internet vigilante group, but we should be able to put names to those putative faces.

As for the gang sign they’re throwing up: It’s to indicate that instead of a heart, they’ve got an empty space about yay big. Although Steve and Jay’s conjectures may also be right.

    15
  16. The diversity is blinding. Literally!

    16
  17. john in denver says:

Oddly, Gov. Abbott made a statement at the signing saying “the legislature worked on this on a bipartisan basis” —

How many Democrats voted for this? And is there an organized effort to primary them?

    17
  18. They’re saying with their hands that love means never having to say that a woman doesn’t matter as much as a gun.

    18
  19. I’ve said it before and will say it again: one look at that pix= vanilla isis.

  20. Joe Humble says:

That portrait is the one they took for Republican consumption. In the one they took for Democrats/Liberals/Women they’re all holding up middle fingers.
