A Sobering Read in the Chronicle
On Saturday, Richard Parker laid out a great argument for restoring our Republic, using history as his guide. He’s virulently anti-Trumpism, but also opposes Bernie, and for good reason. Tough read, but a good one.

Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Let’s face it. As always, every vote counts.
Except this time, the result of not winning is immediate. As soon as Boss Tweet is reelected, he will attack governmental policies that protect the public from bad business and even criminal actions. He can give up the pretense that he cares about his Base, except as agents to bully the rest of us.
The opportunity to make our environment safer, business practices fairer, and keep what remains of the Rule of Law can be lost if we don’t GOTV and help support every last non-GOP candidate out there…
1Congratulations, El Jefe! You may yet take that Nostradumbass Award from the past two elections (2016 & 2018) away from me this election cycle. Seriously dude, beware the concern trolls and what they are writing. It’s bad for our gut feelings on 2 levels, swaying our better instincts and physical indigestion with anxiety symptoms.
Stay positive, Democrats. There is no path to replicating what the Republicons did with Donnie* in 2016. Really. Out of 23 possible st00pid and odious candidates, they picked the worst. What passes for an ‘honest’ Republicon this year may be contributing to Donnie’s* hyper inflated polling at ~40%, but they are also deflecting from his more accurate ~23% support.
2@Jane – Keeping it classy, right?
3Peaceful and friendly, too, El Jefe. Remember Nov. is months away, so plenty of time for me to claim the award. Do not “deny” my ability to shoot myself in the foot, or chew on my typing fingers. Who knows, someone else may surprise us to win the meretricious award. We can always hope.
Again, the point remains that there’s a lot of concern trolling happening this election cycle. Sometimes it’s not even from the Russian troll farm bot brigade. Blame the learning curve, but stay wary and stay positive, Democrats.
4Robert Parker is dead.
