A Smoking Howitzer

October 24, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

CNN says that Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe told them that Democrats have “what amounts to not just a smoking gun, but a smoking Howitzer” against President Trump.

Said Tribe: “This is just the most transparently clear abuse of power and an impeachable offense that I can remember in the history of the United States and I studied it pretty thoroughly, This makes the Nixon situation looks silly by comparison, this is way more serious.”

Personally, I think what we have right now is so powerful that it could jump-start a nuclear powered submarine.

Sooooo … by all means, Matt Gaetz, come bring your boy club to do another riot in that “particularly weird” way you have.

What can the House leadership do, really? And will they do it? I suspect the only thing that will work to begin to turn back this horde is investigating Fat Billie Barr, and referring him to the FBI for prosecution based on his obstruction of the various investigations all ready in progress. That, however, is unlikely to happen; it would be seen as “too aggressive,” whatever that really means now.

    Edit:

Federal judges seem skeptical of Trump arguments in tax case
    NEW YORK —

Three judges on a federal appeals panel appeared inclined Wednesday to reject arguments that President Donald Trump’s tax returns can’t be given to a state grand jury, with Trump’s lawyers suggesting that local authorities should even let the president get away with shooting someone.

Chief Judge Robert A. Katzmann of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals told lawyers at the conclusion of nearly an hour of arguments that the panel believed the attorneys “may be seeing each other again in Washington.”

The U.S. Supreme Court will likely have the last word on whether Trump can shield himself from Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.’s efforts to explore the president’s financial records since 2011, including his tax returns.

Wow Megasoid – judges that can read and understand the law! As for Matt Gaetz, poor Louie is going to have to try harder, there’s a new dumba$$ in town!

  5. Grandma Ada @4 I believe that Limberger cheese 45’s unchallenged baloney of tax returns in perpetual audit as a reason not to release was the foot in the door that allowed him to perpetrate all the other crimes, citizen assaults on rights, child abuse, lies, extortion, vulgarities, bloody wars and turned govt. into a mafia style crime organization.

When the guy across the poker table is losing big on every hand and smiling the whole time, you start to wonder what he knows, or thinks he knows, that you don’t. Is he so sure Putin will land 10 divisions in DC to keep him in power? Or does he think if he just stays in the White House, election results be dammed, that we’ll all just shrug and say there’s nothing we can do? Or that Mitch McConnell will summon a new Confederate army to overthrow the democracy? The guy is a sitting duck by any reasonable Constitutional logic.

A quote from Charles Pierce at Esquire caught my eye referring to the Trump sycophant corps interruption of the Cooper interview:” And reports indicate that Louie Gohmert, perhaps sensing that his position as Padishah Emperor of the Crazy People is under threat from Gaetz, got into the secure room and started yelling about stuff.” God bless old Louie, I know it must be hard being threatened by Gaetz for the title of most repugnant repugnantcan in DC.
