A Reason To Smile
It probably comes as no surprise to you, but I am an ally of the LGBT community. I work with OutSmart Magazine, of which my friend Glen Maxey (the first openly LGBT person elected to the state legislature) says I shouldn’t be because I am neither.
After all these years, I have discovered the Gay Agenda the haters talk about.
A record number of LGBTQ candidates are running for all levels of office this year, motivated in part by red states passing scores of laws targeting LGBTQ people.
At least 104 LGBTQ candidates have mounted campaigns for House or Senate seats this year.
All along, item #1 on The Gay Agenda was to be part of participatory democracy.
Helluva job, my friends.
I love your monthly columns in OutSmart magazine! And I and my tribe thank you so much for your support! With more allies like you, we will take over the world and put drag queens in the cabinet. Then GQP heads in churches, Congress and on the SCOTUS will explode and we’ll be free of them once and for all.
1That may be just my fantasy, but it could happen!
I used to do voter registration at various events, parades and so forth. I found that Black folk get registered as soon as they are eligible, but LGBTQ not so much. That group of folks need to be as committed to voting as other minority groups!
2Three cheers for you, JJ. There are a lot of people supporting GLBT… people whether they are part of the group or not. I’m proud of all of us, GLBT or otherwise. Let’s vote the GLBT group in if they are qualified.
3Rock on, Ms. JJ and Mr. Maxey! The time is here to play some serious space travel croquet with the heads of the QNP. Most millennials are sick of the QNP dragging us back to the 1800s and before. Starting with the FDR improvements for workers and society, on to the LBJ Civil Rights legislation, and all of the gains of the LGBTQA community since Stonewall. Everything John Roberts and his regressive ‘court’ has been unravelling. We can only begin to imagine the frustrations for those of you who have been fighting the good fight for decades. 2022. The year we all join together to take back the lost ground and move forward!
4More power to ‘em, Miss JJ, and to you!

I think it obvious to those who read here that you are Smart — even if you go by a normal population curve, and not the lower average of those involved in “Texas Politics.” I’d also bet that if someone asked nicely, you would be willing to describe the general dimensions of your gender and sex … isn’t that what being “OUT” is about?
