August 19, 2021 By: El Jefe Category: Abbott
Yesterday this photo started floating around social media and it fits Abbott’s re-election campaign better than any I’ve seen so far…
A picture is worth 1,000 words. Or, more appropriately, 54,819, today’s current count.
Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Looks photoshopped, though quite well-done. And completely appropriate.
1Voter suppression works, although re-instatement
2looks dicey.
During Obama’s administration, when a soldier was killed in Iraq or Afghanistan, he would often meet the plane carrying the body home and speak with the family. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Abbott speak condolences to a family who lost a loved one to COVID. But then again, what could he say?
3Yeah, unfortunately it’s photoshopped. But if we circulate it widely and without comment, it’s not exactly a lie, is it?
I’m willing to bet that we’ll see the same base photo, with “Hormel Sausages” or “McDonalds: We’re Loving It” instead.
4As dirty as the GOP fights, the occasional slight of hand seems okay to me. Of course slippery slopes and that other jazz would say differently.
5I get daily updates from our local paper about Covid. Just in the last couple of days there have been two more deaths from it in Gillespie Co., with a total of 56. The number had held steady for weeks prior to that increase.
Our case numbers have climbed to 116 known active infections (with many more estimated), where they were in the single to low double digits just a few months ago.
And yet, the kids are back in school with no mask mandate and all systems are go for our big county fair, parade and carnival next week. Those had been canceled last year when the Covid case numbers were significantly lower. Our hospital has said they don’t have enough staff to take care of the current patient load, much less an increase. Insanity.
6Jes chillin’ out with Guv Greg…
hey, not everybody’s so lucky, yet.
.
7Has Abbutt been seen or heard since his ‘I gots da COVID’ announcement Tuesday? If he sorta disappears, it might mean his breakthrough C19 case is a delta-max, worse than the spin they’ve put on it.
Order a coupla more reefer trailers from FEMA, baybee…
Photoshopped or not, it depicts the effects of Abutthead’s campaign for re-election and then the WH in 2024. He’s doing it on the backs of people (now many kids) who don’t agree with him and many are in fact going to end up in intensive care and body bags (along with his selfish unmasked and unvaccinated supporters). I have no problem with this “picture”- call it a political statement. Truth hurts.
8How about copying the photo, mail it to Abbott’s secretary, and ask if Abbott would be kind enough to autograph it since he’s not doing much these days being sick and all!
9Daayyum, some hospitals are actually planning to begin to triage incoming UNvaccinated COVID19 patients. Those people will have their unvaccinated status heavily factored into the types of treatment, or even if allowed an admission, by doctors tasked with screening incoming patients.
This is something that I advocated for a week ago right here on TWMDBS:
#17:
https://juanitajean.com/collin-county-judge-chris-hill/#comments
[quoting myself]:
“…Without a doubt, the next health policy decision made in Bexar should be to announce that all future ER incoming COVID19 patients will be triaged.
Those who are unvaccinated and unmasked will have their gurneys wheeled to a basement hallway near the morgue, and will be given such medical attention as is available, after all others have been taken care of [even such as minor stitching and toothaches, etc.]. …”
.
The MDs are going to do it! I’ll guarandamntee y’all that this difficult planning and deliberation is now being considered all over certain states…:
https://www.dallasnews.com/news/watchdog/2021/08/19/if-north-texas-runs-out-of-icu-hospital-beds-doctors-can-consider-a-patients-vaccination-status/
“…North Texas doctors have quietly developed a plan that seeks to prepare for the possibility that due to the COVID-19 surge the region will run out of intensive-care beds.
If that happens, for the first time, doctors officially will be allowed to take vaccination status of sick patients into account along with other triage factors to see who gets a bed. …”
Texas hospitals may soon deny unvaccinated patients access to ICU beds:

Update to #10– It looks like the Docs got leaned on, and have somewhat walked back the tentative plan to triage incoming unvaccinated COVID19 patients at hospitals. Crap.
.
11Anybody heard from good ol’ Guv Greggie lately?
Worldometer stats at 4PM show 754 deaths in the US with 151 in Texas. That’s 20% of deaths from one state. Republicans have always had a disdain for others’ lives; now they’re not even pretending to care.
12Sandridge @11, while the Docs may have walked back the part they mistakenly said aloud as to unvaccinated covidiots, they have their ways with years of surreptitiously rationing healthcare to make this happen.
Last year the FAA abbreviated my annual flight physical due to lack of available qualified physicians & personnel to perform all the tests. This year the qualified physicians made themselves available by returning to routine medicine over covidiots with “step right in with proof of vaccination and a negative covid test with 72 hours.” We also don’t have difficulties with routine pediatric and dental visits for our boys, since the staff know both Jane & I are vaccinated in addition to being in a position to keep the boys safe/isolated. Rural life does have its advantages; we seriously have empathy with the parents who live in the city with small children and limited options.
13Sam in Mellen @12, Lately, those ‘worldometer’ stats have been off.
The latest CDC numbers today are somewhat worse, on 20Aug, 174 dead not 151.
More than Floriduh! We’re Number 1 now !!!
https://apps.texastribune.org/features/2020/texas-coronavirus-cases-map/
“Average new deaths
INCREASED
by 35 deaths compared with the seven-day average a week ago.
On Aug. 20, 174 new deaths were reported.”
“Hospitalizations
14INCREASED
by 1,580 patients compared with a week ago.
As of Aug. 19, 12,841 Texans are hospitalized for the coronavirus.
Average new cases
INCREASED
by 3,468 cases compared with the seven-day average a week ago.
On Aug. 20, 11,762 new confirmed cases and 3,581 new probable cases were reported.”
Jane & PKM @13, I figured that the MDs would unofficially begin to do some triage allocation sooner or later. As the numbers inexorably climb above the previous pandemic peaks, it will be inevitable.
The ones then howling the loudest, and lying and cheating to get preferential treatment, will be YouKnowWho [the ones still alive].
As I’ve mentioned before, COVID19 does have the possibility of becoming the world’s next Black Death or smallpox plague.
15It really could mutate itself into a scourge killing tens/hundreds of millions of people, with a little help from it’s friends.
These goddamn MAGAotty anti-vax/mask bioterrorist cretins are actively assisting the trillions of virii to do what they do best: multiply, mutate, become more virulent and prolific, and ‘fitter’. Basic viral evolution.
Sandridge @ 15, yeah buddy! The GoFundMe anti-vaxxer screamers need PO Boxes. Would be happy to send them some Monopoly money or confederate dollars along with tots and pears.
Our oldest should be in pre-school. That is not happening anytime soon. Jane and I know KJ would love school, but with MIS-C and covid risks? Not happening. With a 100% guarantee of all adults at his school being vaccinated not happening, until every parent sending a kid to school is required to show proof of vaccination along with every person in their foreseeable contact path being vaccinated. Pretty much until our county reaches the 85-90% vaccine threshold along with a statewide implementation of vaccine passports, not happening. We’re too close to the Iduho, Utard and pockets of Cali religious covidiots to risk departing from safety protocols.
