I am not saying that Rick Perry is a lazy son of a motherless goat who sucks off the taxpayer teat while lounging by the pool.  I’m not saying that.  Oh hell, who am I kidding?  That’s exactly what I’m saying.

You know how you have an occasional day where you think, “Damn, the boss shouldn’t have paid me today because I didn’t get anything accomplished?”  Rick has those every day.

Take a lookie right here.  If you’re like me, you will find yourself unable to quit reading because it’s mesmerizing to see how entitled a man can feel.  Here’s just a tiny sample.

b. On Nov. 9th he want to a funeral at 10:00 in the am (remember this was state business, not personal) . That was evidently so exhausting that Mr. Perry was unable to do any other state business that day.

c. On Nov. 3rd the only work he did for the State of Tx. was to call the Lt. Governor at 10:15.

d. On Friday March 4th Rick Perry devoted a total of 10 minutes to a conference call regarding a response to the wildfires in Texas.

e. On Friday Jan. 7th Governor Perry considered attendance at a Party and Game in Dallas, as part of his duties as Governor. Dinner was held at the Steak & Chop house in Ft. Worth, and he was driven to Cowboy stadium for the AT&T Cottton Bowl: LSU v. Texas A & M game. Lucky for the Governor he was able to get home to Austin that night to sleep in his own bed since he flew with Harrison Aviation, and his flight time was a mere 45 minutes. Upon his arrival in Austin, he didn’t have to waste time hailing a cab since his driver was waiting for him. It was a good thing this was State Business as this trip to Dallas could have cost the Governor a lot of money.

Goodness sake, he makes Ferris Bueller look like a workaholic.

Now, there are those who will argue that we do not want Rick Perry to spend  more time on state business because when he does he makes a mess of things.  However, according to studies made of his calendar, he works less than part time.  As we say here in Texas, “He dabbles in gubernatorialship.”

Around here, our district court judges, who are renowned for laziness, came up with the bright idea of putting their names on their reserved parking spaces at the courthouse.  It made them feel entitled, a feeling most of them were born with.

Anyway, it took them several months and a smart newspaper editor to point put that having their names on their parking spaces made it real easy for the public to see how little they worked.  Soon thereafter, they replaces their names with numbers.

And I think that pretty much explains why Perry is delighted not to live in the Governor’s mansion, but instead way out in a gated community so nobody can see him lounging by the pool all day.
