I’m Catching Up

January 21, 2025 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Guys, I have delayed sending out the list of commenter emails to willing participants since El Jefe generously came to our rescue.  I will keep the list just in case we get banned or some damn thing.

Thank you for your kind words.  Knowing that I have made you laugh is a satisfying legacy. I’ll still try to stay around and comment should the spirit move me.

We are getting snow in southeast Texas so we’re closing everything.  This is out my front door at 5:00 a.m. when I got up to go to the bathroom.

I’m not using a flash.  That is how bright the Baptist across the street keep my front yard. I’m pretty sure they think the devil lives here and sneaks out at night to go cause trouble over at the Mustang Lounge.  I think they’re hoping to catch him.  To save the power grid in Texas, I’m sending them a note that the devil packed up and left once he was accepted into the Elon Musk Apprenticeship Program.

  1. I was up at 5 am also to go to the bathroom and saw the snow on my neighbor’s roof here in Fredericksburg. No Baptists, though, as far as I could tell.

I always commented as my favorite character “Avis Puckett”, but she’s actually me. Just wanted to thank you for your brilliant concept of the beauty salon and for holding down this fort for years. I understand why, and yet I will miss you so very, very much. Please take good care of yourself. Come see me in Michigan some day.

  3. You keep warm, Miss Juanita Jean! And please tell the Baptists that Hell has frozen over. 😉

Hooting with laughter at this since it was -6 here when I went to the toilet about the same time she did.
I miss being able to post to Faceplant.

Perhaps the brightness of the yard is inversely proportional to the brightness of the inhabitants?

    Stay warm!

Thanks for the picture and thinking of us the morning after a terrible day for Democracy. But we will fight on.
Seems 5 AM Central Time was a popular time to flush. Same here in the Pacific Time zone for me, 3 AM.
Still avoiding all news as best I can.

Juanita Jean – glad to see that you will continue to grace us with your insight and humor, no matter however irregularly as the Salon goes forward. And a hearty “way to step up to the plate” to El Jefe for your willingness to keep the boat afloat. Many of us out here need the Beauty Salon to help us retain what sanity we have left (LEFT).

It is always such a great surprise when you are up to posting. You are such a spirit lifter.

Here in Mesquite, TX there is no snow or ice. Just freezing cold. Thank goodness there is no climate change. Imagine what the weather might be like if there was!

Thank you so much for all you do!.

JJ, I occasionally keep up with the news from Fort Worthless, my natal home. Don’t joke about the local religous gang thinking “the devil lives here”. There’s a big kerfuffle with a megachurch in FW, about opening a human trafficing refuge. Sounds good, but the neighbors have some problems with it: https://julieroys.com/dallas-area-megachurch-pastor-calls-neighbors-evil-and-demonic-in-clash-over-building-project/

The pastor claims the neighbors were motivated by “pure selfishness” and “evil.” And in talking/arguing with the neighbors, he claims “I’m not talking to people. I’m talking to devils.”

So don’t underestimate just how far gone some Baptists have become. That kind of talk is practically asking for some weak-minded member to arm up and start shooting people in the neighborhood. As for the pastor’s qualifications, the article says …

Mercy Culture’s beginning dates back to 2017, when Landon Schott walked the streets of downtown Fort Worth asking God to make him a “spiritual father” of the city, according to a 2021 article in The Washington Post. It states that Landon Schott said God told him he needed “spiritual authority,” which he received through the blessing of Robert Morris, founder and then-pastor of nearby megachurch Gateway Church.

[Bob Morris, a known and self-confessed pedaphile, as the source of your “spiritual authority”, is not something I’d want to advertise about myself.]

  10. Good to hear from you JJ.
    Stay warm.

  11. Well.
You have more snow then I do.
And I live 20 miles south of the Canadian border!

    We are cold though.
    -8 tomorrow.
    Stay warm and safe, everyone!

    11
  12. Oops!
A big thank you to El Jefe!

    I’m curious.
If you belive God protects you, why do you need so many light?
Perhaps they are a tad nervous that God is in a snit because of their support of Trump?

  13. -10f below zero this sunrise 100 miles west of Chicago.

  14. Oh, Diane, you just don’t seem to get it!

    * God doesn’t protect MAGAts; that’s why he gave them guns. He just tells them who to aim at. (Since it’s too much trouble to read all of Leviticus, he sends his mouthpieces to tell them which ones.)

    * God is *thrilled* that they support Trump. After all, he must know the 10 commandments better than anybody because he’s broken at least 9 of them.

That guy you’re thinking about that teaches love, kindness, understanding and forgiveness is named JC or something like that, but he’s in that other part of the BIBLE that only those dumb, woke lefties read!
