A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.

1Jace @1 : be afraid. Currently these AI attempts are mostly incompetent, but those are the ones being banged out by people with red gimme hats and stickers covering their jacked-up trucks.
But with a little money (little compared to what campaigns cost), much better AI-enhanced content will flood the media. By 2028, I will not trust any video, photo, or even audio. It only takes a small team of experts to subtly change small things to greatly influence the electorate. Remember Willie Horton getting darkened on magazine covers? Or further back, the ridiculous little jig Hitler danced while stepping down from the railcar after the French surrendered in 1940? You’d be amazed at how slight modifications to eyes and shading of skin can influence the subconcious evaluation people make of others.

2Tom the Dancing Bug, #2, must have been in the NYT I just yesterday. They had a whole different take on trumpf’s deranged presser. Glad I cancelled my subscription so I can only read their headlines.
