A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.

12The money awarded is just. But no amount of money will replace the loss of an innocent child or the lives of the teachers that tried to shield their students.

13According to WaPo, it’s less than $1 billion. Only $965,000,000. Every penny of which is deserved compensation and punishment.

“Several family members of the victims wept as they heard the jury’s decision in the courtroom. Jones, who was not in court, appeared on his online show as the jury’s decision was read, laughing and mocking the amounts being awarded. He urged his audience to donate money to his company and buy products from its store to ‘fight this fraud’ and ‘save Infowars’ and suggested that he did not intend to pay.”
15I don’t think Jones’ “intentions” will have much effect on anything, but sucking up money from his audience isn’t such a bad thing. It’s people like them who perpetuate this gun situation first of all, and secondly, it’s less money to send their rotten GOP candidates and Trump. If they want to continue to be suckers, who am I to argue?
16You can see the video of jones mocking the judgements as they’re read on Raw Story (and I’m sure elsewhere). He’s a lunatic and anyone who sends him money are equally brainless. He’s already saying he’s not going to pay so I hope there’s legal ways to drain all his money and assets quickly. As someone already said, would love to see his fat steroid ass dumpster diving.
17Not to rain on the parade … but what does this mean for the Texas settlement? I’m gleeful for any settlement up to and including the phrase “all of his blood, re-usable organs, vehicles and houses, and the horse he rode into town on”. But I also hope the Texas team gets their fair share.
This falls into the IANAL (I am not a lawyer) territory, but I hope there is some coordination between the Texas and Connecticut white knights.

What’s kind of unjust is that there are so many others, like TFFG, the Tangerine Tingler, who have committed far worse crimes that have resulted in thousands of deaths and major destruction, who have yet to be prosecuted for their abhorrent deeds.
Perhaps one of these weeks the DoJ will finally begin to nail TFFG’s sorry ass up on the wall of justice.

21JJ, if you would be so kind, could you check with Mark to see if I understand this correctly? If a defendant in a lawsuit loses the suit and is ordered to pay out X amount but refuses to do so, the court can order his/her assets seized and sold to pay for the judgment. If the defendant tries to hide those assets, he/she can be jailed for contempt of court and possibly other offenses.
