Yeah, I’ve Had Days Like This
Just in case you think you’re having a bad day …
At least you ain’t TFG …
CNN has the story.
Okay, so this has nothing to do with the search (I refuse to call it a raid because I get queazy when TFG plays victim) yesterday.
They need to check his hand to see if anybody wrote 5th on it to help him remember.
I hope Letitia James herself is questioning him. We all know how he feels about Black women.
1He’s taking the Fifth Amendment for every dang question, indiscriminately.
For a criminal trial, you cannot infer guilt from pleading the Fifth in reaching a verdict.
But in a civil trial, which this is, you can infer guilt.
Trump’s not taking the 5th to avoid a finding of guilty; he’s not answering anything because he’s a walking perjury dispenser.
He lies reflexively, ridiculously and redundantly. Always has:https://juanitajean.com/the-jenga-tower-of-trump/

FTA: Donald Trump the presidential candidate said lots of things that have turned out to be rather inconvenient for Donald Trump the president.
Ranking high on that list are the things Trump said pertaining to legal proceedings.
And as Trump and those around him get into deeper legal crises, few have offered more damning commentary about what that means than Trump himself.
[…]
“The mob takes the Fifth,” Trump said after Hillary Clinton aides invoked their right against self-incrimination. “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”
He added at his first debate with Clinton that pleading the Fifth is “disgraceful.”
[…]
Trump in June 2016 even speculated that a Clinton aide who took the Fifth might be informing on her — another comment with particularly eerie parallels for Trump today, since some have speculated Cohen could cut a deal with prosecutors and work against Trump (though Cohen has assured he’d never do such a thing).
“Did you see her IT specialist? He’s taken the Fifth,” Trump said. “The word is he’s ratting her out like you wouldn’t believe it.”
[…]
Top aide Kellyanne Conway also suggested merely being under investigation meant you aren’t honest.
And now-White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders once said that attacking the FBI — as Trump is now doing with regularity — suggests you’re in a bad spot.

4After all these years, I can’t wrap my head around the fact that every day people still like him, even tho most GOP leaders hate his guts. Who are these gullible people? I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell them!
5amazing to me that a former President is taking the fifth. even more amazing is that his enablers will still back him. How far this country and more so the Republican Party has fallen
6Blivet took more Fifths than a liquor store has on its shelves.
7Even more incredible is the fact that after all of his lying, and in the face of mountains of facts, they, some are well-educated people, still choose to believe his bullcrap. It is a phenomenon which I will never understand.
8TFFG has obviously watched his cohorts like flynn, bannon, manafort, stone, etc take the 5th many times. He finally listened to his attorneys to keep him out of even more deep shit because it’s up to his orange forehead right now.

“Blivet took more Fifths than a liquor store…”
Trump may have been daydreaming of better days, when he thought Trump Vodka was gonna be some kind of a winner because it was “very high level, very high style.”
At least he’s reached a very high level in the court system, and law enforcement agencies.
10Maybe this analysis will help clarify the R reaction:
“…Upon seeing Trump served with a lawfully-obtained warrant obtained following established judicial procedures, the immediate reaction is that Democrats are running a conspiracy to attack Trump….
…The three core assumptions seem to be the beliefs that (1) the GOP is *always the victim*, (2) the Democrats are *always malicious*, and (3) the law does not matter.
It is the third belief–that the law does not matter–that is the most dangerous. GOP elites and thought-leaders speak as if it cannot be true that Trump is guilty of a crime, but also that Democrats are so evil and powerful that their actions are illegal almost by definition.
These are fantasies. They are also projections: what the GOP alleges that the Democrats are doing is actually a full accounting of what they wish to do themselves.
The news coverage should be exclusively about that.” — Tom Pepinsky

11trump may have had to take the 5th because related things are being criminally investigated by the New York County DA. So answering James exposes him to greater civil liabilty but perhaps protects him from criminal accusations.
I know, we all us hate to see someone in that kind of trap.
12Funny how rules only apply to Democrats. Applying rules to a Republican is always persecution.

TFFG has obviously watched his cohorts like flynn, bannon, manafort, stone, etc take the 5th many times.
Trump’s deposition techniques came LONG before he knew flynn or bannon. Some suits date back to the early 1980s, beginning a long history of court suits against (and from) Trump — In 2016, USA TODAY analysis finds over 3500 legal actions by and against Trump. Not all of them got to discovery. Some were abandoned & some were settled, but Trump is likely one of the most deposed individuals in the country.
14She’ll have his tiny balls in a thimble when this investigation is all done.
15Yep. Trump invoked the 5th Amendment on every question, except the one that asked him his name. I guess it’s easier to do that than to remember who he lied to, and what he said. If he messed that up, he might be open to a charge of perjury.
As it is, since Ms. James is working on a civil, not criminal suit, the jury, if he ever goes to trial, can consider his citing his 5th Amendment rights, over and over and over, to be a negative indicator. Donnie is having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week. I’m fine with that.
16Cry Baby took the 5th because he knew that lying would be bad .
17Suzanne Melton and others: there’s been a rumor/meme claiming that in 2016 T**** said being investigated by the FBI made you unqualified to be President. No one here has echoed the claim, but I’m warning not to fall for it. There seems to be no evidence he ever said it. I looked into it because it had T**** saying a complete, coherent sentence, which is highly unlikely to ever occur. Here’s Snopes’ research into it:
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-fbi-not-qualified/
And anyway, what Suzanne posted shows his complete lack of self-awareness. It’s not like we need further proof!
