See, here’s the deal: when you finish being a congressman, you can’t just take any money you have left in your campaign account and have a party. There’s rules about this stuff.
For those of you who lost track of Louie Gohmert, he got tired of being a congressman and decided he wanted to be attorney general of Texas. Best I can recall, four Republicans ran in that primary and Louie came in fifth.
Nah, I just made that up.
He came in fourth.
But, it was a cliff hanger for fifth place most of the night.
Came in 4th against a (rightly) accused double felon. Come on louie, you got to make your crimes matter more to texas R’s if you want to be the state’s highest law enforcement occifer.
1OT, but we now know going to war against Mexico was not an original thought by abbutt after listening to Mark Esper’s interview this morning. Trumpf wanted to fire missiles against them.
So that would be, what, our third war with Mexico? First time we stole half their territory, then we invaded to “arrest” Pancho Villa. I can see why the Russians think we’re hypocrites.
2I was just about to throw some money into the race for Louie’s old seat. But in checking around on Ballotpedia, I found all the money and votes are in the hands of another conservative. And the district is solid rethuglican across all polls. Ballotpedia shows Moran believes a lot of what crazy Louie believed. Here’s hoping he’s saner than Louie although I admit it wouldn’t take much to attain that. At least, if he is, we’ve only got to change one letter in his name to call him out.
3Next time republicans get their chance, they should appoint a shill to run the Federal Election Commission. Or cut its funding.
4That commission is embarrassing our country.
I can’t – – I just can’t – – shed a salty tear for this guy. As for the Federal Election Commission, when was the last time they actually fined a congressvarmint?
