Susan Collins
Susan Collins said that Kavanaugh won’t overturn Roe v. Wade. Here ya go …
Now that Brett Kavanaugh just voted to virtually end Roe v. Wade, here are all of the times that Susan Collins said Brett Kavanaugh won’t overturn Roe v. Wade. pic.twitter.com/ShHiEn7Hcm

And here’s where you can contact Susan Collins to remind her that Kavanaugh screwed her, too.
So if he was lying to Collins, ya think maybe he was lying about Christine Blasey Ford, too?
Even money says she knew he was lying and lied herself.
1seems like the kingpin to this deal, among several other equivalent ones, is mcconnell. Why isn’t he tarred, feathered and pilloried?
2Oh, come on you guys. If you got to confront her you know EXACTLY what she will say:
“Roe v. Wade was not overturned. We strongly believe that the court has nothing to say about of the constitutionality of the Texas law because reasons.”
You can’t solve bullshit artists with argument. You just have to get rid of them.
3Don’t know how widespread this is, but the following was/is a VERY interesting concept. jrp
The always-thinking Satanic Temple has an intriguing strategy for women to escape the draconian restrictions of the new Texas abortion law: take an abortion-inducing drug as an expression of religious freedom in a faith-based rite.
A lawyer for the Massachusetts-based temple sent a letter to the Food and Drug Administration earlier this week to request that the church be allowed access without prescription to the abortion-inducing drugs mifepristone and misoprostol as part of its “sacramental” abortion ritual. He compared employing the drugs to the use of peyote in certain Native American rituals allowed under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
For the temple, bodily autonomy and science are sacrosanct, and the abortion ritual is an important expression of those beliefs, explained temple co-founder Lucien Greaves.
“The battle for abortion rights is largely a battle of competing religious viewpoints, and our viewpoint that the nonviable fetus is part of the impregnated host is fortunately protected under Religious Liberty,” he added in a statement.
The temple website features a message to Texans seeking a way around the new state law that bans abortion after just six weeks, before most people even know they’re pregnant. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 Wednesday not to immediately block the law, which erodes constitutionally protected rights detailed almost a half-century ago in Roe v. Wade.
“The Satanic Temple stands ready to assist any member that shares its deeply-held religious convictions regarding the right to reproductive freedom,” the organization noted on its website.
4Alan’s exactly right.
5Yay, Satanic Temple! Great idea.
6I did send a note to Suze! I think it important that she realize a lot of eyes are on her.
We can all “see” that SoSo Collins’ family has failed her in terms of when it’s time to collect Granny’s car keys and insist that she retire. But the fact is she’s only 1 of 100.
President Biden and the saner member of the Democratic Senate need to take Joe Manchin for a long underwater swim until he comes to his senses. As for the girl Senator from AZ? Let the ladies of the WMDBS decide her fate.
Ditch da Moscow Mitch and his filibuster. Make the Senate functional for a change. Until the Senate functions nothing good will happen.
7Susan Collins is a master of saying what she thinks people want to hear and then doing the opposite or lying to get away from the camera. Does anyone actually know what she stands for?
8And as I recall, she believed Trump “has learned from this case” and “will be much more cautious in the future.”
9I’m with Jane and PKM. As for Kavanaugh, of COURSE he was lying. About everything. Susan Collins should turn in one of her X’s cuz she hasn’t been looking out for women at all.
10Kavanaugh didn’t lie about everything. When he said “I like beer” I’m pretty sure he was telling the truth.
11It got her re-elected in a squeaker, and that’s what she really cares about!
12I’m reminded of the famous saying about how evil is allowed to stay in the world. Some people do the evil and some just make excuses for it. Collins has always been in the latter category.
13along the lines of the Satanic Temple figuring out a finagle …
Jennifer Rubin, now writing in the Washington Post [paywall] but trained as a lawyer, writes an article headlined “One tactic to stop abortion bounty hunters from demolishing women’s constitutional rights.” She says:
“There are many avenues the federal government can do to protect Texas women. For example, Section 1983 of Title 42 in the U.S. Code provides: “Every person who, under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage, of any State or Territory or the District of Columbia, subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen of the United States or other person within the jurisdiction thereof to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress.” When Texas’s law forces every abortion provider in the state to shut down, surely there is a deprivation of constitutional rights. They have effectively “chilled” women’s constitutional rights.”
14Maybe we should take out an ad on Craig’s List: wanted, leadership in Congress.
An argument can be made for you first Alfonso, QOP. But the thing is there are so many issues on which Americans are united at 70+% levels. Gun safety, reproductive health, a sane foreign policy, etc, etc, ad nauseum. Albeit there is no QOP leadership, not even the ever so recently ‘rehabilitated’ Liz 24 Cheney.
The mystifying fact that hurts Democrats in elections is the Democratic leadership failure(s) to respond to the popular vote, the wants & needs of the American people, and a serious lack of messaging. Bernie tried. Elizabeth Warren tried. Lordy Katie Porter and several others try.
Purportedly Speaker Pelosi will try on the Roe v Wade codification. Yet already that is a whimper and a cry DOA in the Senate before it ever leaves the House. Why?
Maybe this time? If we contact all of our Congressional members and demand action. Yes, even those Qcumbers in the QOP. If you have a phone and/or internet, please let’s turn up the volume on what “we the people want.”

Of course he lied about Ms. Ford! His whole “emotional” act in front of the committee was staged. It wasn’t about what he claimed, that he was innocent. He was just damn mad that he was finally being brought face to face with what he actually is. And I fell sorry for his kids! They deserve better.
16The round heeled woman of the senate.
