Anybody You Know?
A friend of mine from college recognized one of the insurrectionists from the January 6th violent assault on the capitol and I’m real jealous because she got the pleasure of turning that person’s name into the FBI.
So they released a new video today and maybe you’ll get lucky and recognize this guy who was trying to kill a police officer.
The FBI on Thursday released new footage of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, asking the public for help identifying rioters who assaulted police officers during the insurrection.
The videos show assailants attacking officers with fists, clubs, unknown chemical sprays and even a device that resembles a baton stun gun or cattle prod.
The language is raw because these are vulgar people, but it’s only at the first part.
More than 300 people have been arrested and 65 have been charged with assaulting a police officer. Not even one of them was antifa. Not even one.
We can’t help much. That old white guy looks like the old white guy in the Senate from Alabama, Tommy Tubbersville. Then again, most of the overweight men with gray hair men at the insurrection did.
1Most insurrectionists will face no prosecution. I wonder why this is?
>> “The criminal probe into the Jan. 6 insurrection has been described by the Justice Department as likely ‘one of the largest in American history.’ But as the investigation matures, it’s becoming increasingly clear that many of the roughly 800 people who breached the nation’s Capitol may never face any legal consequences because they were allowed to simply walk away from the scene.”

2Not sure if America’s Most Wanted is still on teevee, but I think it would be good to run pieces on these pieces of shit every week.
3Hope Merrick Garland puts his mark on prosecuting every prick they identified inside the capital, especially those like this old white guy in the video. Someone has to recognize his hat and coat.
Hot tip for cops at the next right-wing red neck insurrection; take the probability of violence seriously. First, have loaded weapons out and visible. Second, if they get cranky at the barricades, break out those big cans of orange pepper spray. You know, the ones they used at the Occupy protests.
Lets see how they react when the police ‘defend themselves’ and Homer and Jethro fall back to the Port-a-Potty.
4Mr. Phillips @4, we support your plan of action. But for the same reasons some of us were disappointed that didn’t happen on Jan 6th, we are likely to be disappointed again. Cops are into hippy bashing and beating up on minorities, not so much into policing their own groups.
We’re beyond being “surprised” when heavily armed mass murderers such as Roof, Rittenhouse and Long can be apprehended without a scratch. Yet twelve year old Tamir Rice was gunned down in cold blood for playing with a toy without ever a question being asked of him.
Republicons like compromise. How about we offer them this: we’re “good” with non-violent apprehensions, if the same courtesy will now be extended to persons of color and liberals.
5G Foresight says @2 …
Last number I heard was 800 total inside the Capitol. Over 300 already charged. FBI, Capitol Police and DC Metro have said they have more people under review. It probably takes time to match phone traces with people, and people with actions. Let the effort run for six months or so, and then assess the overall law enforcement & prosecution effort.
Frankly, I don’t care if some of those who were basically “tourists” aren’t enough to bother with. If everyone who assaulted an officer, stole something worth more than a couple hundred dollars, broke something worth that much, or conspired to do something to Pence, Senators or Representatives is arrested, charged and has to either plead or go to trial, I’m good.
