Oh, Good Lord

March 10, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

There’s a saying in Texas that the only reason Texas doesn’t slide into the Gulf of Mexico is because Oklahoma sucks.  Republican State Representative Brad Boles of Oklahoma ain’t helping much.

He’s all worked up over an abortion bill and he forgot to use his Republican outside voice.

Thanks to Keith for the heads up and his comment, “It is almost as if this chucklehead is auditioning to be a member of the British royal family.”

Yep.

Sure, now tells how you advocated for them. You’re a legislator. Which bills did you introduce?

  2. Mr. Representative, What bills did you introduce or sponsor that would have helped the mamas with employment, childcare, food, housing, education?
Mr. Representative, if it were possible for you to carry one of these unwanted “ babies” to term, would you?
As my people were rumored to say “ walk a mile in my moccasins “

Well Abbott is using “immigrants” instead of “scapegoat” , so I guess Boles is going to use “non-white women who had abortions” instead of “scapegoat”. Each week it’s a new one – hard to keep up!

My thought is there needs to be a standardized amendment to all of these restrictions on abortion laws. Sorta like ALEC does for the RWNJ, someone should diligently do the research to demonstrate the problems, then propose a solution.

In the case of forced birthing:
    * a mandate for shared financial responsibility for the child’s expenses between the mother and father, facilitated through the state family court system, if needed.
    * a back-up state financial plan when the father cannot be found or is incapable of sharing costs. Sort of a “no-fault” insurance plan to cover basic costs of prenatal and postnatal care. Plus an insurance plan for medical expenses over $5,000 per year.
    * state funding for long-acting reversible contraceptives, available on a sliding scale based on family income.

I’m sure I’m forgetting some mandates. Perhaps others will be kind enough to add suggestions.

To fund this program — I’m figuring a tax on alcohol and marijuana sales and savings from de-criminalizing use of drugs would be a good start. Other options?

  6. Best thing that ever came out of Oklahoma is I-40

  7. John in Denver, I *really* like the way you think.

My mantra is that no woman should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term if she is not physically, fiscally, educationally, and emotionally prepared to care for the child. Period.

Of course, I can count on the fingers of 1 hand the number of GQP’ers who can meet all 4 of those standards.

Brad is a Putz. Meanwhile outside of the sinking ‘world’ of A–Butt, Ken the criminal Paxton and the usual QOP suspects, progress is being made in the real world. The Biden stimulus package will lift millions of children out of poverty, Merrick Garland is US AG with a 70-30 Senate vote, and Marsha Fudge is the HUD secretary.

And in other good news, Jane promoted me to be her arm candy/escort for a trip to meet Vice President Harris and her first Dude Doug in Las Vegas Monday!

  9. A dimwitted idiot rePUKEian who does not know the definition of ‘baby’ or ‘kid’ and does not have a vagina is proposing a bill to oppress women…sounds normal for rePUKEians as a whole. BUT… who put him there? If the majority does not want Oklahomastan then they should be out there voting, but they did, cuz most of the voters in Oklahomastan want it!!!! And if his bill passes I recommend those that can, to run away, but for idiot rePUKEian women … hopefully you will live long lives and SUFFER!! You want it and hopefully you get it!

  10. Old Fart says:

So how about legislating free and easily available contraception for all who wish as an anti-abortion measure…

    10
  11. Old, Fart, that’s been my solution all along, but remember, it will give the wimmen control over their lives again, and we can’t have that, doncha know?
