Impeachment
It kinda takes the fun out of watching any game when you know the final score before a ball is thrown.
That’s what is gonna happen today, but I will watch anyway.
CNN is running an itinerary but everything is subject to another attack of the termites on the capitol. I don’t expect any surprises today but if there’s witnesses later in the week, that might be fun.
And last night on the Brian Williams show, they closed with this gift from The Daily Show. The greatest love story every starring Lou Dobbs. Enjoy!
I keep hearing people talk in reverent tones about the “great things” *rump did for this country, but I keep not hearing exactly what those things were. Annoys the heck out of me.
1Well, djw, Trump did a fantastic job revealing which neighbors and relatives need to be avoided for all eternity.
2Trevor Noah is a treasure and deserves all the applause he gets and more.
Lou Dobbs is going on the dungheap of history, underneath his fat, orangey object of worship.
3Wow, that’s some sad sh*t!
4If I may be so blunt … Holy shit … that’s enough to make most anyone want to puke!

Hold Them All Accountable
6The people who stormed the Capitol are facing the music. It’s up to us to make sure that the people who incited them do, too.
Oh barf!
7djw, I also asked that question in the midst of a gang of T****ers. The answers were
1. He made America strong again, after Obama had weakened it.
2. He got the economy growing by killing laws and deep state regulations that kept American businesses from making money.
3. He cut taxes for everyone.
4. He beat back Covid-19, and if it wasn’t for him millions of Americans would have died.
5. He stopped the takeover by Muslims and their imposition of Sharia law.
6. He stopped illegal immigrants, and reduced crime in the US by doing that.
7. He protected religon from being repressed by cancel culture.
8. He made the US respected in the world again.
In other words, they parrot Fox News BS as if it were the truth, with bumper-sticker slogans and outright falsehoods. I could keep listing their “answers”, but once it got to the baby-killing paedophiles I tuned out (and a couple of the women tried to shush the speaker with a “that’s only for us insiders” kind of suppression).
8That’s usually the course. They either list stuff that’s not really an accomplishment or just isn’t true.
9There was a discussion on the WMDBS yesterday about Utah. Was just reading where their reQublican senator, mike lee(ch) told faux news that every president “makes mistakes” and “deserves a mulligan.” Holy shit, wow, really? Calling for an insurrection where people were killed and severely injured was just a mistake? Trying to end democracy was just a bad golf shot? I think he got his first mulligan a year ago. He got one for his coronavirus disaster. Should have been impeached for his lies and coverups on that, too. How many mulligans does mike lee(ch) and reQublicans think he deserves?
10Trumpf is famous for cheating at golf, and gop is famous for cheating at politics and “leadership”. And Utah is infamous about their senator lee(ch).
Comedy gold, and Trevor Noah didn’t have to say a word…
11I have mentoined that I live in a deep red county in Maryland. How red, you ask? Well, this letter ran in today’s newspaper. It is typical:
“This is not my government.
“As a retired state law enforcement and federal special agent, I have come to this same conclusion in the past year. If I were younger, I might have a chance to do something about this, to somehow fight this lunacy. However, being close to checking out of this life — and I for one am now looking forward to it, I do not want to live in a society that is going communistic.
“Future generations in this country are going to be the victims, and I blame every Democrat voter for voting just because of their hatred of a single man who did more for the country than any previous president. However, I have to say I think my generation is partly to blame also.
“I remember mom and dad’s generation would all say that ‘we’ would screw things up for the future. I hate to admit it, but they were correct. We did screw things up; we took our eyes off the ball not keeping track on what the education systems was teaching our children.
“We wanted our children and our children’s children to have it better, nicer and easier than we had it. Well, what we have now are several generations of stupid, lazy people who can’t think for themselves or do for themselves. Everything must be given to them or they have a meltdown. God help this country.”
I don’t know if it’s related, but there have been more parricides in this county in the past 9 months than in the past 30 years in the county where I lived in Hawaii.
12That was quite the tongue bath. Now I need an actual bath.
