Best I Can Figure

November 20, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The best I can figure, Trump is saying that the election was crooked because (1) they let black people vote, and (2) they counted those votes just like they do normal people.

President Trump’s efforts to reverse the outcome of the 2020 election through legal action have become increasingly focused on throwing out votes in cities in key electoral battlegrounds, a development that would impact significant Black populations.

And black people have taken notice.

According to an analysis done by the Voter Participation Center (VPC), approximately 1 million more Black Americans across the country cast ballots in 2020 than in 2016, an increase of 1 percent in terms of Black voter turnout rate. Per the VPC, voters of color pushed Biden’s margin of victory by 1.8 percent, Black voters accounting for 0.5 percent of that.

Remember when Trump was running in 2016 and he asked black people, “What have you got to lose?”  Yeah, well, that didn’t age well.

  1. I have been anxiously awaiting Rudy Giuliani to propose a 3/5 compromise for votes coming out of Detroit.

  2. I just hope the good voters in Georgia are paying attention.

  3. Grandma Ada says:

A sincere thank you to black voters. Those of you in GA, please return in January to the polls and finish the job!

  4. Nick Carroway says:

Yeah, when they try to disenfranchise you they tend to notice that sort of thing. One wonders why people vote Democratic so overwhelmingly.

  5. Jane & PKM says:

Poor Donnie. Always on the wrong side of the question. The rest of us are way more concerned about the mental health of the people who did vote for him.

  6. I have honestly been waiting with bated breath for Rudy Giuliani to propose a 3/5th compromise on Michigan votes.

  7. Sorry about the double posts – serious internet issues today.

  8. Buttermilk Sky says:

Never mind, Deb, it’s a good point. I doubt Giuliani remembers that much from high school history.

  9. Steve from Beaverton says:

This attempt to disenfranchise Black voters after the election in several cities and states is not just a Trumpf campaign action, it’s almost the entire repugnantican party. The silence or outright support in this fraud by top repugnanticans (almost all of them in Congress) are every bit as guilty.
And it’s not just Black voters being disenfranchised, it’s other non-white voters in other states as well Nevada and Arizona as examples). In fact they’re trying to disenfranchise every democrat by attempts to overturn the election results.
Hopefully every Biden voter in Georgia will come out again, and perhaps others who are finally seeing the real donald.

  10. …and he asked black people, “What have you got to lose?”

    Suffrage?

  11. Now I sure do know the angels in heaven don’t vote cuz they are not registered, but if they had been behind this sudden uptake in common sense among the electorate, tRump would be going after them as well and with a pitchfork straight out of hell. And that hot pitchfork is gonna burn him bad.

  12. Linda Cohen says:

I am really glad that black voter turnout increased. The math looks a little shaky though. If there are approximately 50 million black Americans including children, 1 million extra voters would certainly equal more than 1% of an increase.

  13. Brad in Dallas says:

I think that if in some alternate universe Trump’s base of support was black Americans, he’d be the biggest civil rights fan on the planet. I truly think he has no immutable principles, just a giant yawning need to be loved, and a thousand ideas on how to get there.
