Somebody Please Take That Damn Phone Away From Him

Okay, so you know about the board of canvassers in Michigan where the two Republicans refused to certify the vote even though is it just procedural.  Then they decided to sign anyway and then they decided not to.

I know, difficult to believe they are grown-ups.

Earlier this week, Trump called a member of Wayne County’s Board of Canvassers this week after a contentious meeting in which she first refused, and then agreed, to certify election results from the state’s largest county. She subsequently released an affidavit seeking to “rescind” her vote for certification — a move that the secretary of state’s office said was impossible.

Trump called a member of the … what the hell?

He was afraid people had pressured her or talked ugly to her. He was worried about her feelings? What is it they tell us to do with our feelings?  Screw them?  Okay, well, maybe Trump suddenly got religion.

I wonder whose feelings he’ll care about next?

  1. This sounds like something from Monty Python!!!

    1
  2. It has the stench of Rump committing election interference and fraud to me.

  3. Steve from Beaverton says:

Well now the repugnantican leadership of the Michigan legislature are headed to meet with Trumpf at the White House. When the fuck will repugnantican leadership in Congress finally call for an end to this. It’s become apparent that the repugnantican party has decided that democracy is no longer part of their belief system. I don’t think they can even say the word anymore because it’s what Democrats believe in. Certainly Trumpf’s cult do not believe in it. The attempted coup is underway officially. They’re doing the same thing in Georgia and some other states.

    Election interference for sure.

  5. The Orange Moron called a woman he doesn’t even know, because he was “concerned” about her feelings? That would be a first and I don’t believe it one bit.

  6. BarbinDC @ 5,

That sounds like a thinly veiled threat that a mobster would make.

No doubt they got an “offer they couldn’t refuse”.

  8. There is a PBS TV series [and maybe others like BBC] airing right NOW that I cannot recommend more highly: Not a perfect parallel or analog, but way too close for comfort:
    The Rise of the Nazis
“See how Adolf Hitler and the Nazis rise to power and usher in the death of democracy.”
    https://www.pbs.org/show/rise-nazis/

    https://www.bing.com/search?q=The+Rise+of+the+Nazis&form=OSASSB&pc=OSAS

The series PBS run started last week, episode 2 is on PBS World channel tonight at 8pm [rerun here].
Episode 1 scared me shitless, and I’ve been –ranting for decades–, here and elsewhere, about how today’s Republicans are actually the closest thing to Nazis you’ve ever seen.

    WATCH IT! Damn it!

    “About the Show
In 1930 Germany was a liberal democracy. Just four years later democracy is dead, Germany’s leader is a dictator and its government is in the hands of murderers. This series tells the story of how this happened. Leading historians and experts get inside the heads of some of the key players, whose political plotting, miscalculations and personal ambitions helped to destroy democracy and deliver control to Hitler.

Then there are those who were prepared to make a stand in order to try to stop the Nazis. With the intensity of a political thriller, the series sets out the plots and intrigues at the heart of the government, which transformed the Nazis from a fringe political group to the most powerful party in the Reichstag. It outlines the power struggles between prominent Nazis, which transformed Germany into a brutal police state that exercised state sponsored detainment and murder, allowing Hitler to go from being chancellor to all powerful Führer of the Third Reich. Powerful drama and stark use of archive brings an immediacy to this gripping and resonant story.

Call? if anyone needs to be called, it’s Emily Murphy at GSA who refuses to provide the necessary assets to the Biden/Harris transition team. Seriously. A Kim Davis styled petty bureaucrat installed by the fu king moron refuses to do her job.

Contact Us at 1-844-GSA-4111 Swamp the GSA switchboard until that swamp does her job or departs.

  10. Depending on who you listen to or read:
    1) Not to worry, Joe is president elect and Drumpf has no power to change that.
    or
    2) Be very afraid. Drumpf can still steal the election.

I’m more of the mind that Joe will be sworn in on 1/20/21 but Drumpf is going to leave him a lot of dumpster fires (incl maybe a war), as if covid isn’t enough of one to put out. Shame on the GOP for not stopping him.

  11. Hannah @ 10, the pox of hypocrisy and treason* to Moscow Mitch, Leningrad Lindsey and all who would fluff the fu king moron and his maladministration. Facts are facts and not something Kellyanne Conway can conveniently alternative fact into a microwave for disposal.

Treason* as stated under the law requires a declared war. Make no mistake about it that Republicons have declared war on democracy.

Double shame on Moscow Mitch for obstructing in advance and by promise the Biden administration from curing a few of our many ills. In a sane world the Republicons would be equally if not more appalled by Donnie than most of us.

Lordy Georgia, please come save us all with your two Senate seats.

  12. Nick Carroway says:

I used to be one of those that believed prosecuting your political opponents was wrong. This is just too much. I want every last one of them to rot in a jail cell for the rest of their natural lives. I’m done.

  13. Grandma Ada says:

I’m so proud of our GOP Senators who stood up against his majesty and for the people and Constitution. Oh, wait, my Senators are Cruz and Cornyn . . . never mind.

Jack Dorsey, be a mensch. Shut down trump’s tweets, or, even better, let him pit them in but block them from going out. He might not even notice.
