Which Barr?

June 07, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Attorney General Bill Barr heaved his butt on morning teevee this morning.  In a rambling lawyerite interview, he denied that chemical irritants were used on peaceful protestor at the White House.

MARGARET BRENNAN: There were chemical irritants the park police has said–

BARR: No, there were not chemical irritants. Pepper spray is not a chemical irritant.

I can see where he got confused.  This was gluten-free, organic, natural, non-GMO, raised without cages pepper spray so that ain’t no damn chemical.

Hey, everything is chemical, except, you know, ideas — like peace, love, empathy, tolerance.  Everything else is a chemical.  In a restaurant (remember those?) some guy four tables over speaking very loudly is a chemical irritant.

Look, pepper spray ain’t Agent Orange, but it’s not Eau de Democracy either.

So, while Barr is Attorney General, pepper spray will be known as a spicy baptism.

Someone … ANYONE … Please provide a quick, to the face, shot of pepper spray so Herr Barr can see how non-chemical that shit is!
7 damned days of pure stupid … SMH And … it just keeps coming like drizzling diarrhea!

  2. Old Fart says:

Then AG Barr won’t hesitate to show how mild pepper spray is by using it on himself and his family?

    Sure…

  3. lumpkin says:

The important thing here is not that the lie is credible or even plausible. It’s that they can lie all they want and nobody can do anything about it. One of the many things they’ve copied from the Nazi playbook.

  4. Just like someone isn’t a racist unless they hang somebody or burn it cross, it’s not chemical unless it’s sarin or mustard gas
Just ask them. They’ll tell you

  5. Texas Expat in CA says:

Like Lumpkin says, the point with this administration has become that they CAN lie—obviously, brazenly, in total contradiction of documented facts—and nobody stops them. We’re well into fascist territory.

  6. Steve from Beaverton says:

Barrf is just another Trumpf robot that can spew lies and spin the truth with a straight face at all times. There’s such a long list of them.
I just can’t wait until he is forced to pack his office up and move over the Fox “news”. Then most of us won’t accidentally have to hear him again.

  7. Follow up question for Barr:

Let’s say pepper spray is not a chemicals irritant. Is it acceptable, in the United States of America to use pepper spray on lawfully gathering, peaceful protestors for the sole purpose of a Presidential photo op? Can we assume that some of the protestors overcome by the spray, unable to speak, thought to themselves, “I can’t breathe?”

  8. Remember Sean Hannity telling us that waterboarding wasn’t really torture?

Now this. Where the hell do these guys come from?

  9. Jane & PKM says:

Bill Barr = John Yoo and Roy Cohn rolled up into one crazy over the top pile of unitary executive theory cow flops piled in non-existent executive privilege pile of dog dump stupid.

John Yoo said water boarding and enhanced ‘interrogation’ techniques are not torture. Thanks, John. We’ll be appreciating your read of the law, when it’s time to haul this maladministration in for the justice due them.

This reminds me of the “an AR-15 is not an assault rifle because it isn’t set up for fully automatic fire” argument. The idea is to provide a distraction and get people to argue about definitions rather than how the item is used.

    P.S.: Here’s a definition: chem·i·cal ir·ri·tant (kemi-kăl iri-tănt)
Any such agent capable of causing irritation or inflammation of tissues.

The pepper balls contain a chemical, capsaicin. Capsaicin is a chemical compound that was first isolated from chili peppers in crystalline form in 1878. Soon after, it was discovered that capsaicin caused a burning sensation in the mucous membranes.

I’d be intrigued to learn how a pepper ball contain ing a chemical known to irritate mucous membranes is not a “chemical irritant.”

Ok this sh*t just got very real for me. Trump ENDANGERED MY KID to feed his strong man fetish and man crush on Putin.

TPM is updating the timeline for Mondays Lafayette Park incident and it turns out that he spoke to Putin earlier in the day. Following this he chastised the governors for not using more Nat’l Guard troops then tried to get 10,000 Regular troops sent to DC. Reportedly Esper & Milley refused this order so Barr organized the incident we all know about.

So Putin gets him either pumped up or jealous – both equally dangerous with President Chucklef*ck, and he compensates by ordering/allowing/arranging for a low altitude shock & awe helo flyover. This is followed by BOP/Blackwater thugs launching NOT Chemicals/CS/CN/Tear gas into the park and hustling peaceful protesters to the new perimeter. Among them is my 30 year old daughter, a teacher by training and now an activist by moral imperative.

Did I miss anything here ???? WTF.

I’m guessing Barr has a lot of very rich friends who are going to pad his retirement because his reputation will never overcome his stint as AG.

From an article on today’s Common Dreams: “PepperBall—a private company that distributes the projectiles to law enforcement—describes its product in marketing material as ‘the most effective chemical irritant available.'”

    Alan @ 9:
Wasn’t it Hannity who got called on his statement and had to agree to subject himself to it in order to prove what he was saying was true?
And didn’t he, after it was done live on air, admit that well, yes, it WAS torture?
Of course, he never admitted he’d been lying in the first place. But he did, at least, claim he had been **ahem** “mistaken.”

Does anybody here believe Barr will allow the same test of his “fact” to take place?

    Yeah, me neither.

two crows last we knew Hannity displayed the same lack of courage as one would expect from Barr. He was not waterboarded as promised. It was Erich “Mancow” Muller, a conservative Chicago-based conservative radio host who actually was water boarded. Mancow manned up, and he also admitted it was a whole lot worse than he had expected.

So I pulled out my canister of pepper spray (2% capsaicin bear spray) and it says right there on the can:

“Strong irritant to eyes, nose, and skin.”

“DANGER: May cause irreversible physical eye damage if sprayed in the eye.”

    “CHEMICAL EMERGENCY: 1-800-535-5053”

I think it is a, um, you know, chemical irritant.

But really, Barr should volunteer to be sprayed, just so we would know for sure. I volunteer to spray him.

  21. Colin Parry says:

agent orange was never intended to be used on people, just jungle foliage. pepper spray (and teargas, etc.) was designed specifically for use on humans, as one of many “non-lethal” alternatives to guns/lead bullets. the problem is that, if you have underlying medical conditions, any of these “non-lethal” alternatives can very quickly become very lethal. one woman, who had asthma, has already died, after being hit with “non-lethal” pepper spray. and it’s not as though the police survey the crowd first, before indiscriminately loosing these weapons on them.

It’s a typical reaction of a member of Trump’s cabal of liars and frauds. They think any excuse they can make up is a good one if some of the stupidest people on the planet will believe it.
