They Own Him

March 12, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The GOP owns Trump.  They bought him. They knew what he was when they nominated him at their convention.  They knew what he is when they refused to call any witnesses at his impeachment hearing. They know what he is at his rallies. They own him. The Republican Party is Donald Trump.

They cannot say that his speech last night was sane, productive, or even read well.

This morning, the contradiction and misinformation in the speech is glaring.

They also cannot act surprised that the markets got a black eye along with being kneecapped.

It is their fault. Everyone in the Republican Party, with the exception of (and it pains me to say this) Mitt Romney, is to blame. I don’t care if it’s your county commissioner, anyone who is a Republican is to blame. Unless they stood up and spoke out, they are to blame.

  1. Thank you. Just so you understand Ms. J J, I’m not going to be canvassing the neighborhood any time soon.

I wonder what happens if Trump gets the virus? Will he blame CNN?

  3. I will NEVER vote for a Republican again. Never. None of them.

It took from March 4 to this afternoon for the number of positive corona virus tests to multiply by a factor of ten. I can’t predict the future, but I can do the math. 118 cases on the morning of the fourth, 1180 this afternoon.

  5. RepubAnon @2,

If they contract the C-Virus, Trump, the Senate and House all have the finest, most comprehensive, socialized medical care money can buy, funded by the US tax payers.

    Here’s a prime example of JJ’s thesis.
It’s an editorial from a nearby RWNJ newspaper, written by the editor-publisher herself.

I’ve wanted to quote it here before [it’s more than a week old] but not enough time. Also wanted to respond in the paper too, but no ’roundtuit’.
I better edit this, shorten it to the ‘best of’ stuff, but I urge you to read the whole piece. It originally had some quite strong rebuttal comments, but they seem to be gone…

    Enjoy /s [[my edits thus]]:

Donald J. Trump has been harassed from the moment he became a candidate for president. … Wherever he went, whatever he said, he was the headline. But once it became evident that he actually could win the presidency, the lovefest with the media became a vicious bloodbath.

At first the left, along with many conservatives, were unsure about what to make of him.

Trump was and is the focus of every late-night talk show, but as the 2020 elections heat up, their ridicule has turned to full-blown panic. “Never let a good crisis go to waste” has become the guiding principle for the left. They tried and failed at Russia-gate, quid pro quo, and the impeachment effort. Now they have turned to the coronavirus as their latest crisis in an attempt to at least put a dent in his popularity.

It’s too soon to tell, because, after the market went into free-fall over the coronavirus panic last week, it was going back up on Monday. [[bwahaha]]

The left hope to attach blame for the coronavirus to Trump. “He isn’t equipped to handle such a health crisis. He doesn’t know what he is doing. He is in over his head. He is unbalanced. He doesn’t understand the gravity of this crisis.”

You get the picture. Day after day, this is what you read, … The left don’t know how to overcome Trump’s positive achievements. They are willing to blame him, yet he gets no credit for the his accomplishments, chief among them the economy. [[again, bwahaha]]

They hope this coronavirus will be his nemesis, regardless of who gets hurt in the process — and people are getting hurt as their retirement funds are decimated.

This is how vicious the left are today, not only to Trump, but to his family, his staff, and even his supporters. Some are predicting that the economy should “bottom out” about in November — just in time for the elections. They certainly are not going to win an election based on their platform; they have no platform.

As of Monday, the market was beginning to make a comeback, so their hopes may be dashed once again. [[a,bwha]]

It remains to be seen whether level heads will prevail or snowflakes will take over. …
So how is Trump handling the situation?
Well, even before the coronavirus made headlines, he had already suspended travel from China [[a bald-faced lie]], much to the left’s consternation. They called him racist and xenophobic for restricting travel.

A month later, they said he didn’t act soon enough! It’s the classic, “You’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.” [[perfected by them on Clintons/Obama]]
Actually, Trump’s measured response is an attempt to quell the panic created by the media.

The sensational, and sometimes false, headlines put people into a panic situation that escalated until the stock market was affected. The over-the-top rhetoric and images show people wearing masks, and medical personnel dressed more like space aliens than medical professionals. It causes snowflakes to melt.
Some even equate drinking the popular Corona beer with the virus of the same name. [[37% of ‘Murikans do, curiously the same % as the Trumpian ‘base’]]

It is serious, folks, but not worthy of mass hysteria in an America that has a great health-care system. [[a, bwha]]

Let’s all take a deep breath, wash our hands, and have a Corona. It will be okay.

    [[Yeah, riiigghht…]]

Thanks Sandridge. I never know, when reading one of these, whether the author 1) is fully aware that they’re projecting onto the Left the sins of Fox News, but just want to give their low-information voter base an argument to repeat, 2) is only distantly aware of the parallels, but desperate enough to churn out copy to ignore their conscience tapping them on the shoulder, or 3) completely oblivious, and a victim of Republican Prion Disease.

  8. Sandridge says:

    Brad in Dallas @7,
This person is an absolute master of RW propaganda, knows how to play ‘the base’ like a fiddle. Is every bit as skilled as FuxNooz and RWRadio jocks in distorting, creating, delivering the Rethug messaging with perfect timing. I’ve tangled with them for decades.
Suggest that you read the rag online from time to time, it’s an eyeopener to those naïve Dems who don’t have a real clue what their actual enemies are like ‘in the raw’, their native state [this rag also has given prominent space to various other RWNJs, Confederate orgs, etc]. I subscribed to the print edition for years, finally quit in disgust.

Their propaganda machine is how they stay unshakably in power, and actually grow, and minutely control, their MAGAot hordes.
Would that the ‘herding cats’ Democrats possess a fraction of that messaging/framing ability.

An example: on the day the noted opinion piece appeared, there was a sidebar ‘poll’ about “daylight saving time”, in the tone of the usual pandering pushed manner:
    It had three choices–
    1- no, don’t like DST,
    2- DST is OK,
3- Keep your stinkin’ gubmint paws off’n my time [to paraphrase].
You can guess which won the poll.

I’m not sick, but I ushered the best funeral today. The woman was 95 and had been a charter member. The funeral was well attended and nice, then Paul English + six others played everyone out of the church, NOLA style, with Just a Closer Walk with Thee. Now we’re closed for two weeks!

    9
  10. The Surly Professor says:

Grandma Ada@9 – if it was NOLA style, then I gotta ask: did they second line her? Anyone who gets to 95 deserves that.

In any case, take care of yourself. Huddle up with a warm beverage and gather around the fire here at the salon while we roast the gibbering idiots in D.C. and our various statehouses.

  11. Remember when AIDS was the public health threat that the same nutcases who deny CoronaVirus transmission were claiming that even being in a meeting, conference etc with an individual with HIV was a health risk to all. That shaking hands or accepting a piece of paper was enough to transmit the disease.
Even after it was well documented and proven that transmission required some form of bodily fluids exchange.
Still the the whack jobs were pushing for concentration camps to quarantine those with AIDS, even though it would be completely irrelavent except as an act of cruelity,
Now that we do have a disease, CoronaVirus, that is proven to be airborne and highly infectious many of the same cohorts are scoffing not only at the risks but even as to whether it actually exists.
Now they are raging against self quarantine of patients suffering from the CoronaVirus, much less CDC mandated quarantines.
Much like their refusal to accept science on climate change.
And people wonder why the sane among us refuse to even engage with such proven liars and fools whose only form of discussion is a gish gallop of lies, false data, “cult” ( religion) bigotry and basically whatever lie is available, no matter how often it is disproven.

  12. Tonight, on The Eleventh Hour on MSNBC, they reported on a poll somebody took. They asked people their party affiliation and if they’re washing their hands more often than they used to.

They expected a difference between men and women. They didn’t expect party affiliation to factor it — but that’s what they got. Democrats have increased their hand washing frequency and thoroughness, Republicans have not.

Your post is quite apropos, it seems.

    12
  13. Yes, let’s remember that comrades Cornyn and Cruz decided just weeks ago that trump, criminal and agent of foreign powers, needed to be left undisturbed to commit further crimes. We won’t forget, guys.
