Apology

December 21, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I know I owe you all an apology for leaving in a cloud of dust last week without much information.

Bubba and I were rear ended in Austin last Tuesday night.  “Rear ended in Austin” use to mean something else, but now it just means an ambulance trip to Dell Seton Hospital (Hook ‘em) and a week in the icu.  We are both home now, making grunting noises but healing nicely.  Honey, we made it through the 60s so this ain’t no tall wall for a climbing cat.

I’m sorry about the lack of communication about the accident.  As a way of explanation, I want to let you know that there’s a Republican woman in my county who has suddenly decided at age 72 that she is a reporter because she has a Facebook page.  She claims to “investigate” the courthouse.  She is attempting to embarrass my husband and – catch your breath – my 6 year old grandson through this website.  So, I will rarely post anything personal.  Although, I may write more about her later.

I’m still not up to speed so don’t expect much at first.

And thank you, El Jefe, you’re the … well, Jefe Primo.

Be social and share!

  1. So glad you are back and recovering. I’ve been rear-ended three times and I live with the damage every day. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

  2. Good to hear from you! I don’t want to hear anything personal that you don’t want to share (unlike some mannerless louts who are Rs). And thanks to El Jefe for keeping us posted.

  3. Jane & PKM says:

Ms. JJ, ICU? That’s some serious ‘bumps and bruising.’ Keep resting and take good care of yourself and the judge. El Jefe has been doing a fine job. Ready to receive an advanced degree in herding cats.

That “R” woman has delusions and hubris to the max, if she thinks she can trade quips with the Bankstons. She’s no match for you, Bubba Sr, or Bubba Jr. She’s not even off the starting blocks to acquiring the superior vocabulary of young Ben. In over her head would be stating it mildly. Bless her heart. Sending her thoughts and prayers.

  4. I’m glad that you are back home and on the mend. These things take time and please don’t feel bad for not posting earlier. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

    4
  5. Good to hear from you, Miss JJH. Take care of yourselves.

    5
  6. Glad to hear you’re out of the ICU. Those are dangerous places.

Don’t worry ‘bout us. Take care of yourself and the Judge.

Jefe is doing a fine job.

    6
  7. Get well. We missed you.

    7
  8. Just keep taking care of your recovery, and as for that Republican woman, she really doesn’t have any idea what she’s getting herself in for. So glad to have you back, even in small doses.

    8
  9. Caren Burke says:

Take care of your self’s, we can wait, Merry Christmas jingle bells. Care

    9
  10. facebook is often pernicious

If I were going to violate the facebook terms of service, I don’t think I’d choose to do so by harassing a judge and his grandchildren

Let us know if there’s any way we can help.
Meanwhile, I’ll keep publicizing your “Help Flip Texas” fundraiser.

    10
  11. Sam in Superior says:

We think about you guys fondly. I’m glad to hear you’re up and kicking and that you and Bubba are back home.

I agree with joel hanes says, harassing a judge and his family has consequences.

    11
  12. omg. icu? I had no idea it was that serious!

Take care of yourselves — I hope there’s someone in residence who knows how to interpret the grunts and can bring you juice and food and whatever book you require. And fluff the pillows properly.

Take your time – come back when you’re fully ready. El Jefe is doing a fine job in your absence.

    12
  13. Buttermilk Sky says:

(Scene: the drunk tank. Mr. Rear Ender wakes up.)

“Morning. Last night you rear-ended a judge, and his journalist wife. Put ’em in the hospital. Their son’s a lawyer who sued Alex Jones and won. Have some coffee, you’re gonna need it.”

    13
  14. Y’all are so polite. Apologizing for ending up in ICU because of someone else’s carelessness and lack of attention.

Unless you were in ICU as a precautionary measure for underlying conditions, or you were over-hospitalized for financial gain, bumps and bruises were certainly treated differently in the hospitals I worked at. So pleased you are now out and able to recuperate at home where you can actually get some healing done!

Hope your in-home care staff is attentive to the point of obsequiousness and your recoveries are swift and without complications. Hoping your grandson entertains you to speed along your healing. Kid jokes are very therapeutic!

As far as that *reporter* goes — Trump already has the child bullying cornered. And harassing a judge? Really! I hope she is no one’s grandmother or mother, she does not deserve the honor.

    14
  15. Dear JJH: no apology needed. We’re just glad you’re on the mend. ICU is serious business; I’ve been rear ended a few times at slow speed and only suffered mild whiplash, but I know others who’ve been hit at high speed so I know the damage that can do to a body. You and Judge Bubba take it easy, don’t overdo. Sending you both a virtual hug.

As for that R busybody, well, shame on her, especially for going after a 6 year old. You’d think a 72 year old would know better, but then consider who squats in our White House.

    15
  16. Buttermilk #13: LOL

    16
  17. I don’t often drive in Texas but when I do I notice that tailgating seems to be a regional pastime. Overpowered pickup trucks appear to be the weapon of choice.

    Have a good recovery.

    17
  18. Larry from Colorado says:

Is there a single “human” R anywhere? I heard today NASA thinks they will find alien life in the next 20 years. Maybe they should look at a certain party?

    18
  19. Glad to hear that you and Bubba are finally home.
Take extra good care of yourself, you two.

    19
  20. thatotherjean says:

Oooofffff. Those must have been some serious “bumps and bruises” to leave you in the ICU for a week. I’m glad you’re both home to rest up and heal, and I wish you a boring, absolutely routine, but quick, recovery. All good wishes for the holidays and in the new year. See also, Buttermilk Sky, #13.

As for the lady “reporter,” may she find something else to do, soon, and leave your husband and your grandson alone. She needs to take up a new hobby. There are enough annoyances in the world already.

    20
  21. Glad all y’all are on the mend.

I thought Republicans left the children out of politics. Must be their children must be given privacy.

I’m not far away. All my kids and grandkids are grown an coming next week. Want us to TP her house?

    21
  22. dobleremolque says:

Sigh of relief! Take all the time you need to heal.

    22
  23. No one says you have to do anything…….except, feel better..0 Much love….

    23
  24. Elizabeth2 says:

I’m glad you’re home. Heal quickly and thoroughly, please.

    24
  25. Take care.
Was concerned you were targeted by some right wing whack job because of possible (unknown to me but…) bumper stickers you might have had on your car. From your comment about new right wing nutcase trying to go through your garbage can it sounds like they have taken a different route.
Take time to heal. The next 12 months are going to be brutal. You need to be well and rested to sally forth again into the battle of electoral politics.
    Be well.

    25
  26. treehugger says:

I’m so sorry about the accident and your injuries. A week in ICU sounds very serious. Glad you are home and please, do take it easy. No need to worry about us. El Jefe does a fine job. Your job now is to heal up, both of you. As far as that female creature, anybody who would take after a child is the worst of the worst. She is in no way, shape, or form a match for you or Bubba. Prayers for a full recovery for you both and enjoy the holidays as best you can.

    26
  27. Speedy recovery.

    27
  28. Very pleased to see some words from you. As others have already said, take however much time you need… but know that you were missed. Take care of each other, heal, enjoy the holidays… and then get back to kickin’ conservative butt! Hugs from North Texas.

    28
  29. Glad you’re both getting better.
That Republican twit doesn’t know who she’s tangling with.

    29
  30. Scotty in Indiana says:

Glad to hear from you and glad you’re both on the mend. Do take care of yourselves and have a merry Christmas

    30
  31. Susan Crites says:

You guys being home is the best news I’ve had all week!

    31
  32. I am glad you are home and I hope you both have a smooth recovery. A week in ICU sounds very serious. Take care of each other, rest, and enjoy the holidays with your family. Peace.

    32
  33. Uncle Igor says:

Good to hear it wasn’t as serious as it coulda been. In an odd coincidence, Esquire’s Charlie Pierce was also sidelined earlier this month after an unexpected interaction with an automotive a-hole. Here’s hoping this is not some new conservative plot to suppress dissent in advance of the elections. Anyway, happy holidaze and keep fightin’ the good fight!

    33
  34. ICU is some scary business. My thoughts are with you and yours, as well as Charlie Pierce. What is this? Some kind of plot against us socialist, communist, libtards. Rest and do the work to recover. It will mean some hurting rehabilitation but it will be worth it. Speaking from experience! Have a blessed Christmas, we are in the fight of our lives and need all of our warriors as able bodied as possible.

    34
  35. Opinionated Hussy says:

JJ, Honey, we’re just glad you and Bubba are home. Hospitals, especially ICUs, are no place for sick people. I, too, hope your attendants cater to your every whim and that your healing and subsequent physical therapy are speedy and complete.

And as for the hussy with the Facebook page….see Buttermilk #13.

    35
  36. okie-dokie says:

Laid up and crippin’ around the house is a terrible way to spend these holidays. We’re glad you and the Mr are on the mend.

    Remember: Republican accusations are confessions.

    36
  37. So glad you are both home and getting better. Rest and recover. 2020 is going going to be a bumpy ride.
