A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.

In a truly cartoonish incident that seems to be perfectly calibrated
for modern politics, Rudy Giuliani accidentally left a voicemail to NBC News reporter on October 16 — a voicemail that was surprisingly revealing.
That “butt-dial” resulted in three minutes worth of audio in which President Donald Trump’s attorney — the former New York City mayor! — can be heard discussing a need for cash with an unidentified man.
Giuliani and the NBC News reporter spoke on October 16, discussing Giuliani’s ties to a fringe Iranian opposition group. And Giuliani called the reporter again at 11:07 p.m. EST — only that time, Giuliani didn’t make the call on purpose.
When the reporter (who had gone to bed) woke up the next morning and checked his voicemail, he found a three-minute message in which Giuliani can be heard speaking to the unidentified man.
Giuliani, during the conversation, didn’t seem to know that he had accidentally called the NBC reporter and that the conversation was being recorded.
NBC News’ Rich Schapiro reports that it isn’t clear what all Giuliani and other man were talking about during their conversation, but Giuliani can be heard mentioning someone named “Charles” and someone named “Robert” (who the other man notes is “in Turkey”). Schapiro doesn’t know “Charles” is, although he points out that Giuliani “is known to have worked closely with a Robert who has ties to Turkey.
His name is Robert Mangas, and he’s a lawyer at the firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, as well as a registered agent of the Turkish government.”

1I saw this map the other day and my first thought was Dolt 4 or five still has his magic markers handy.
2Our president is demented and/or ignorant enough to think that Colorado is on the border of the United States and wants to build a wall around it? Of course it’s funny. If you didn’t laugh, you’d have to start screaming in terror.

Many New Mexicans wish there was a wall on the northern state line ever since Colorado denizens started claiming that their Pueblo green chile was better than our Hatch green chile. Absolute heresy.
I bet that Dumpty couldn’t complete a kid’s map of states wooden puzzle to save his life. Arizona, Colorado, hmmmm. Alabamdama, Florida, eh. He would probably throw the puzzle across the room and blame Obama!
7If we thought walls were a solution, most Nevadans would be good with a wall to our east on our Utah border. Fewer FLDS and affiliated morons crossing the border would be a good thing.
Or, we could be sensible and expect the armed clown shows of whatever the WTF they are calling themselves be addressed by the FBI and other appropriate agencies. Eastern Washington isn’t exactly a pod of desirables.

In the ruling, the US district judge Beryl Howell says that while the department had argued that existing law barred it from sharing the materials with Congress, “DoJ is wrong”.
Howell wrote: “In carrying out the weighty constitutional duty of determining whether impeachment of the president is warranted, Congress need not redo the nearly two years of effort spent on the special counsel’s investigation, nor risk being misled by witnesses, who may have provided information to the grand jury and the special counsel that varies from what they tell [the House judiciary committee].”
But it also touched on another matter of debate in Congress. The House, Howell wrote, is legally engaged in an impeachment inquiry, despite claims by Trump and Republicans the the investigation is “illegitimate” because the House did not hold a formal vote authorizing it before it began.
“Even in cases of presidential impeachment, a House resolution has never, in fact, been required to begin an impeachment inquiry,” she wrote.

10Karen @7 – your Hatch chile is awesome! I discovered it a few years back and always have a jar of Hatch chile salsa available. I went to one of our larger local fresh fruit and vegetables purveyors a few years back and they were roasting Hatch chiles for sale – OMG! The aroma was fantastic and so were the chiles. I missed the occasion this year, so I didn’t get my supply of freshly roasted/charred chiles. My loss for sure.

I bet we’d be astounded at how little Trump knows about the country he is trying to govern. I doubt he knows simple geography, probably could not name half the states on a map. He knows next to nothing about US history, couldn’t name five presidents.
My wife worked in Mental Health and says she thinks his IQ is around 80.

17Wow – this will really impact tourism and skiing industry in New Mexico – because now you will probably will need shots, visa and a passport to get there. Colorado really benefits and could use the following in Marketing the state: Beautiful weather and slopes, friendly AMERICUN peoples – plus no passport required and WE HAVE LEGAL MARIJUANA!!!!!
