Another Texan Bites the Dust
Texas Republican Congressvarmint Bill Flores is retiring.
I’m not as excited as you might suspect. It’s a Hard R district. Trump won by 18 points so we’ll be replacing one fool with another. This district includes the Waco area.
Flores is so deep into oil and gas that he slides across the room when he farts. (Okay, okay, I already regret telling that joke because it is so gross, but I heard it out the oil patch years ago and just couldn’t help myself this morning.)
And while the chances of a Democrat winning this seat are slim to none, it’s kinda fun to see Republicans run for the hills when they see a storm coming.
That’s okay, JJ. It’s still funny.
I think partially they are deserting the rat ship because they are sick of Trump and what he is doing to our country (and of McConnell who won’t do anything for our country.) That and the fact that they don’t have the guts to stand up and fight. This seat may not be won by D’s, but hopefully many of them will.
1OK told my husband about the fart.
2Coffee spewed.
Comment about Flores, to which you refer, is not a joke. It is a reality check and precipitated the burst of energy that initiated his slide.
Since his reality check bounced recently, he’s retiring.
He’s always been shy, about 3 bricks of a 2 brick load; about 2 spiders short of a web; about 30 points short of a humane level of IQ.
3OT, but still in the category of “another Texan bites the dust”: this joint’s favorite lawyer has just made this joint’s least favorite RWNJ pig squeal again:

… and the link even has a quote from JJ’s own. He’s doing all the heavy lifting, but us magpies are getting all the schadenfraude from it!
4The Dem who lost last year is running again. His name is Rick Kennedy and he is a good candidate. But then, this district is so badly gerrymandered that it seem unlikely any non-republican could win.
5Based upon what the GOP has become I think the best chances of getting elected in districts like these (stanch Republican) is for Dems to brand themselves as an Independent candidate. There are about 1/3 of GOP voter that would prefer not to vote for the the extremism of the GOP but would balk at voting for a Democrat simply because of the decades of efforts to demonize the brand. Labels are important in today’s world.
6Beststash may well be right
7Thanks, Professor.
