ICE Raid! ICE Raid! Waste Money! Waste Money!
Last week, the Department of Homeland Security targeted 2,105 people who had received final deportation orders but had not reported to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers for deportation.
Of the 2,015 migrants targeted, they arrested 35.
The acting director of ICE blames the publicity surrounding the raid, which allowed migrants to know their rights or to hide. He wants you to know, “You didn’t hear ICE talking about it before the operation was taking place.” In other words, “Thanks, Donald Trump.”
Can you even imagine what that raid cost us? Wasted.
I guess I don’t love America because I want to abolish ICE. It is cruel, ineffective, and far too costly. Formed in 2003 under George Dubya, it has been about as effective as his presidency was. We dumped him, now dump ICE.

Happened during the Reagan administration too. Multimillion dollar raids, all in the name of jobs, netted something like 25 jobs. They were at a Petaluma chicken processing plant, and went unfolded for months afterward.
The Republican Party has long known how to put on a show, but little else.

8That’s still 35 lives and 35 families that have been upturned assuming they were summarily deported without a due process hearing like so many other immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
Meanwhile the surrender caucus attacks its fellow D’s for demanding accountability for this official group of brownshirts.
9I have dream of new president hiring a multitude of Hispanic, Black and Native americans nd giving them a mandate to deport any illegal eurapean. Comb through Irish bars and restaurants in Boston, Polish and german businesses in Chicago, media rooms/editorial offices for british accents etc.
Oh and don’t forget the office of tech companies.

35 arrested out of 2000 targeted. That’s a 98% failure rate.
In other words, one of the Trump administration’s better days.

These temporary emergency facilities arose because of the government’s deliberate policy to punish children, resulting in the prolonged and indefinite detention of thousands of children,” said Denise Bell, researcher for refugee and migrant rights with the organization.
She added: “Temporary emergency shelters are never a home for children, and Carrizo and other detention facilities like it only demonstrate that these disastrous policies only endanger children and are never, ever in the best interests of the child.”

11To compensate for the low rate of arrests of “deportables”, I am betting 10 to one that they start arresting citizens who “look” different. I’m not kidding! This ICE bunch already has a horrible history of doing this. One kid they arrested recently was just finally released after 3 weeks in two different slammers. He had full legit ID on him but they hauled him in anyway. The other guy in the car with him was undocumented and had entered via swimming. They didn’t bother him!!! That guy eventually gave himself up and was voluntarily deported back to Mexico.
12interestingly enough, I feel the same way about the DEA: ineffective and costly. let’s dump both of them, and make the world a safer place.
