The University of Virginia’s Center for Politics has a new poll out.
Here’s a glimpse:
— Democrats are now a little better than 50-50 to win the House. This is the first time this cycle we’ve gone beyond 50-50 odds on a House turnover.
— We’re making 17 House ratings changes this week, all in favor of the Democrats.
— One of those comes in OH-12, where the last nationally-watched special House election is taking place in a couple of weeks.
Don’t get smug. Now is the time to double down.

1😀 Double down Ms. Juanita Jean Herownself? Yes indeed! Double and triple down. Control of the House is merely a start to my wants and needs. While Democratic control of Congress is essential, existential success depends on certain Congress varmints being the ones gone; looking at you, Teddie Crooze. Nunes, Rohrabacher, and several others not only need to be gone from office, they need to be sitting in a chair, in court charged with the crimes they have committed.
2Don’t believe the polls! That’s why too many lazy Democrats stayed home in 2016.
3The 2020 election will determine which party gets to control the next set of Gerrymanders after the Census.
4We sure can use some good news. It gives us hope to hang on to.
5The dems in my home county have contacted me appropriately several times. This last time was to extract a commitment that I would vote straight Dem in the November 2018 election. Yep no prob doing that.
6OK! That sounds about right! Larry Sabato is good at some of the things he does.
7Do not allow yourselves to rest. We all know the game Republicans play. Confirm your voter registration each month. Help your neighbors to do the same. VOTE EARLY! It only costs two stamps. And it is pretty comfortable from the kitchen table.
8I like the numbers but do they factor in gerrymanders, voter purges and flat out election machine hacking ? It seems to me that a quantum leap in the number of D voters will be necessary to win in any GOP controlled state
