Today, the US announced it is withdrawing from the United Nations Human Rights Commission Trumping up (no pun intended) charges of bias against Israel and the US. Democracy dies in darkness. And it is closing in.
Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Is it possible that Dump’s horrendous policy decisions could be ousted under Article 25?
1Great. Just as I qualify for Medicare, we’re about to be declared a rogue state.
We’re no longer accepting refugees. Where are WE supposed to go to escape what’s fast becoming this nightmare of a country?
2Sorry, let me rephrase that. Is it possible that our Child Abuser-in-Chief could be ousted, due to his horrendous decisions, under Aricle 25?
3The United States government should be ashamed to even show their faces at the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
I can’t believe Nicki Haley didn’t choke on the hypocritical reasons she gave for withdrawing. Do any of these people ever look in a mirror?
4Maybe Canada will give those of us who want to escape the nightmare of Trumpworld political asylum? Or not.
It’s hard to believe that we are living in America instead of pre-WW11 Germany. Scary.
Call your Congress critters and let them know Trump’s policies are wrong, wrong, wrong and they need to change. We have to make some noise, lots of noise. If enough of us call and demand decency, common sense, and integrity from our government, there’s still hope that this continual horror show of idiotic policies and cruelty can be turned around.
5I am glad my father is not here to see this happening. He spent three of his young years in Europe fighting the Nazis. I have always been proud of being an American but today I am ashamed of what is happening in this country and ashamed of the disgusting people who inhabit the White House as well as the slime that works to protect them.
What is being done to innocent children is exactly what the Nazis did to Jews and other non Aryan types. It was only the beginning then of the real evil. It is indeed a frightening time is this country.
God help us all.
6One of the most nauseatingly abhorrent aspects of this is that there really are millions of Americans who seriously believe that the Golgothan in chief is keeping his campaign promise by making America great again.
7That take the same sadistic satisfaction that stephen miller does at the savagery being inflicted on children. And make no mistake. They’re just as happy that we’re furious and disgusted. Rachel Maddow just broke down at the end of her show trying to read breaking news about “Tender Care” centers for detaining babies. And by tomorrow, right wing media will be jeering and having a party because a prominent “snowflake” got her feelings hurt.
So yeah. Making America great again, one child at a time.
As someone old enough to remember the Vietnam War, I wonder which was the critical juncture to declare the U.S. morally bankrupt? Was it that war? Or how about overthrowing the democratically-elected Iranian government? Or the 41 governments changed by the U.S. between 1798 and 1994?
The U.S. respects no treaty…just ask an Indian, so the “integrity” of this country is certainly open to question. Why Andrew Jackson not only stole the Cherokees and other tribes’ land in the Southeastern U.S, contradicting state and federal court rulings to do so, he marched the tribes to Oklahoma in a genocidal Bataan Death March we know as the “Trail of Tears.”
So…when did we ever have this moral authority of which you speak? People who have been paying attention for longer than the Trump presidency find his open thuggishness a refreshing change from the pretense of moral guidance. He’s “authentic,” no?
8I regret that I have to agree with you, Adam.
The only question is, have we finally gone far enough that we can’t deny our own face of evil any more?
Only time will tell.
9Just to be clear.
10Rachel Maddow is an amazing woman who has the unflinching tenacity of a Pitt Bull in the pursuit of keeping people aware of what’s really going on in spite of the deluge of lies and misinformation put out by our current administration and the fair and balanced propaganda arm of Koch Industries.
She just also happens to be human.

11When you’ve sold your soul as many times as the people in his (mal)administration have, there’s nothing left to reflect back in the mirror.
If Trump thinks that by withdrawing from the U N Human Rights Council exempts him from censure from every nation with the exception of North Korea, China and Israel, he is so mistaken. I believe his newest atrocity against “tender” babies and their parents is only acceptable to his inner circle, craven republicans and the extreme religious right. Their numbers will shrink as everyone they know back away from them. I hope.
12Well Trump only withdrew from the Human Rights Commission because it was clear that America would be ‘fired’ before long. And if you read some of the comments on news station sites and other places about the child internment camps you’ll see that it is not unacceptable to many people. We have the justifications of ‘well they’re getting three meals a day and learning to flush a toilet so their lives will be much better.’ Because America knows best? And from what I’ve been reading the record keeping when separating children from parents is pretty well non-existent. So how would these children even be reunited with their parents?
13Sessions and the hard core religious right are trying to puul the old “Divine Right of Kings” by saying that God wanted Trump to be president and we have to trust that what he is doing is right.
14What a steaming pile of crap! Putin wanted Dump to be president and is probably calling the shots and pulling the strings. Have you ever seen America so weak and divided?
Not since Vietnam.
Let not this be lost: conservatives who appear to be feathering the nests for future republican candidates continually tell us to look at Nikki Haley as a future option for their party, doing that hoping we will ignore her administration’s oversight of the confederate flag flying over her capital while she was governor, and changing that only after a racism-based mass murder in a church there.
Now she stands and condemns the Human Rights Commission because Donald wants to add to the chaos.
It is obvious she is just proud to have a job.
