Oh Blake, Where Art Thou?

May 15, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Y’all, this could only happen in Texas, the land that heralds corruption.

Okay, so Blake Farenthold resigns from being a congressman shortly before the hooter-toters show up to scalp his ample nasty butt for language and actions so disgustingly gross that they cannot be described on a website where my Momma comes.

He left congress owing us $84,000 of our money used to compensate a young woman for Farenthold’s grotesque flirtations.

And then he landed on a feather pillow.

Farenthold told listeners on a Corpus Christi radio show Monday morning he had landed a position working for the Port of Port Lavaca-Point Comfort.

His annual salary will be $160,000.10, just below the $174,000 he earned in congress.

He’s going to lobby for the port of Port Lavaca.  If you’ve never heard of Port Lavaca, let me assure you that they’ve never heard of you either. Now, let me tell you why Blake will fit right in.

Texas Rangers investigated one Port Lavaca port board member and a Calhoun County commissioner two years ago for stealing money. Another board member promotes pro-Confederacy and Deep State political theories on his personal Facebook page.

A match made in heaven.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Yes, but has he paid the taxpayers back?

Where does Texas *find* these people?

  3. Well, I’m so happy to know he will be able to buy new
duckie P.J.s as he needs them. Hate to think of his
    little “quack” getting chilled!

  4. Somewhere in the back of my cobwebby brain I seem to remember that La vaca in Italian means cow as in “milk the cow.” Ya know, somethings and people and animals have their fate right in their name. Decades ago there was a horse who won the Kentucky Derby by the name of Destine. I foresee poor things for Port Lavaca.

Old Fart, they don’t find ’em anywhere: they grow their own.

  6. Indeed, a match made in a Stygian Hell.
This Port primarily serves heavy petro-chemical and metal industries located around Lavaca Bay to Victoria. They are noted for their propensity to pollute the hell out of the surrounding environment and there have been many incidents in the past.
The worst of them is the Taiwanese owned “Formosa Plastics”, along with DuPont, Dow-UnionCarbide, and Alcoa, et al.

I think that good ole Pajama Boy is going to fit right in with these bad actors, what with the EPA and TCEQ getting kneecapped of late.

There was a very good environmental documentary film, IIRC, produced by our local PBS station(?) (before it was taken over by the Rethugs) about a dedicated local woman who had had enough of the pollution and became a skilled environmentalist fighting these very companies.
**(found it…) Her name is Diane Wilson, here’s a link to the documentary and her bio, etc. (warning, it’s one of those websites with auto-sound, pretty good music though).
“Why is Diane Wilson -mother of five, fourth generation fisherwoman – considered Public Enemy No. 1 in Calhoun County Texas? ”

I have only gone into San Antonio and Lavaca Bays a few times, the area is pretty shallow, rough, and dirty, with very little interest to me. I’m going to pull up some charts just to refresh my memory. I used to sometimes fish out of Pass Cavallo, which is the Gulf passage channel for all ship traffic to Port Lavaca-Comfort. Pass Cavallo is actually the closest point along the Texas Gulf Coat to very deep offshore waters, thereby it’s a major deepsea gamefishing jump-off point (50-100 miles closer to the depths, various prime fishing grounds, and the major ‘dropoffs/cliffs’).

** Here, I lifted chunk of text from the documentary website. I heartily recommend watching it, it has been shown on PBS a couple of times (my emphasis=***):
    “FEATURE FILM SYNOPSIS

TEXAS GOLD: Unreasonable Woman Diane Wilson
TEXAS GOLD follows the adventures of one of the most dedicated – and unlikely muckrakers of this generation. Diane Wilson — mother of five, fourth generation fisherwoman, Public Enemy No. 1 in Calhoun, County Texas . From Wall Street to the front lawn of CEO Warren Anderson multi-million dollar mansion on Long Island , all the while chased by Texas Rangers charged with bringing her to justice, Diane pursues a reckless industry with a soft drawl, dogged determination and her own special brand of southern bad-ass fisher woman humor.
When Diane discovered that her home, Calhoun County, Texas had been named one of the most toxic places in America , she decided to take action. Taking on the giants of the petro-chemical industry, who were poisoning her community and knowingly devastating the once thriving fishing industry.
***These companies continue to illegally spill millions of pounds of chemicals into the gulf bays, ***while their hired-gun PR firms*** busily under-played the chemical plant explosions and soaring local cancer rates. This was business-as-usual for Dow/Union Carbide, one of the biggest toxic offenders in Calhoun, also responsible for the now famous/infamous 1984 pesticide gas leak at its plant in Bhopal , India , killing 20,000 over the last 20 years.
In the 16 years since she began her fight, Diane has received death threats, and suffered intimidation tactics; shots were fired at her house from a helicopter and her dog was poisoned.”

Two or three calls a day from a multitude of concerned taxpayers should be an adequate office warming for old Blake. When he refuses to take your call or is otherwise ‘unavailable’ be sure to leave a message with the nice receptionist; ask where our money is.

    7
  8. Guess he couldn’t get a job with the Chippendales, huh?

  9. Old Fart,
Hey dude, we produce heros and heroines too.
Here’s more on the one I just commented on, very interesting.

I’d bet that JJ has met this lady, Calhoun Cty isn’t far from Ft. Bend Cty/Richmond.

    Santa Vaca! Holy Cow!
Ms. Wilson is also a co-founder of y’all’s wimmens group ‘Code Pink’ too…

(maggie, “Vaca” is Spanish for cow, an early, famous Spanish explorer in these parts was Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca [Head of a cow]):

BTW, Farenthold is ‘caca de vaca’.

We were just in Corpus over the past weekend. Fat boy’s house on Ocean drive is for sale. I’m kind of hoping it’s part of a divorce filing.

    10
  11. Virginia, I commented with the details of the corpulent cockroach, PJBoy’s ‘For Sale’ $1.7 million Ocean Drive place on this TWMDBS thread last month:
    https://juanitajean.com/blake-oh-blake/#comments

“…he’s put his place up for sale (he inherited it…), asking only $1,750,000 for a prime Corpus Christi Ocean Drive 2.4+ acre home (anybody familiar w/CC knows Ocean Dr is IT for real estate, fall down drooling RE). May be selling 1+ acre lot separately for more than $1M too.

(owns lots of other stuff too, farmland&minerals, his ex nicked him for a $700K+ house in 2007, bwahahaha).”

(My coast place is about midway between Pajammies Corpus and Port Lavaca commute route on Hwy 35, hope I see him sometime so I can ‘bird’ him.)

    11
  12. Blake had to take a $14,000 a year cut in pay? That sure will cut into the decorative pajama budget.

    12
  13. I’m reminded of some Annapolis classmates (not the USNA, the other one) who said that on the way home from a holiday party involving intoxicating beverages, they had rattled the Governor’s gate and sung, “We won’t go until we get some.”* I suggest that taxpayers give similar treatment to Ducky Boy’s new digs and jobsite on a daily basis until he coughs up our $84 grand.

*An infrequently-sung verse of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” Kudos to them for remembering it in their condition.

  14. slipstream says:

I object to the word “earned” in this sentence:

“His annual salary will be $160,000.10, just below the $174,000 he earned in congress.”

    14
  15. Virginia says:

Sandridge, I missed your earlier comment. We were driving down Ocean and I kind of remembered he owned property there. Looked it up and did a drive by to see the for sale sign. Didn’t know he’d inherited it. Bummer, was still hoping he would lose money in a divorce.

    15
  16. PJ boy is all over the internet with the refusal to pay up.

By the way there are lots of pictures from the PJ party if you search by his name and pictures.

I can honestly say that PJ Boy is/was one of the absolute worst politicians in the US.

    16
  17. Virginia, of course he inherited the place, like many of those inherently incompetent Rethug SOB’s, including their big orange stinkycheese SOBOTUS, who could never acquire such things on their own.
I think Pajammie is now wired into a very nice little birdsnest, if he can keep it.
Pretty amazing that a fairly low-income TX county with an average per-capita income of less than $20K/yr (compare to other US counties at ~$60-120K/yr percap) can afford to pay that much dinero, $160K, for a professional bullshitter. There must be some extensive ‘insider’ chit going on, wonder if this is a new position? I know a few Navigation District people, etc., and as far as I know nobody makes anywhere near that kind of scratch, for having far more responsibilities (unionized port ship’s pilots can).

I deduced that he had lost a $700K beach house on NPI (IIRC, or maybe it was in the same area, off Airline, forgot my research from back then, that might be his rental hse) in his 2007 divorce, so he did get shafted pretty good.

That Ocean Drive place is nice, it’s just up from TAMU-CC where a daughter went, then she and spouse were later stationed at the NAS. CC is another one of my ‘hometowns’, luv it (for a little while, it used to be a small town, now a madhouse…).

Been thinking of retiring. Can’t decide where, worried about being bored. Thinking now about Port Lavaca. Maybe become that liberal crazy lady that starts all kinds of problem at the city council meetings

    Bet his mama’s real proud…..NOT!!!!!!!

  21. Kathy Hale, check out Rockport (my homeport), Fulton, Aransas Pass, and Port Aransas (or even in, around Corpus Christi).
All have a much better ‘quality of life’, or whatever than PL, PO,etc., and you can still hassle more RWNJ’s than you can imagine.
Further up the coast, from around Port Lavaca all the way to Chrystal Beach-Sabine Pass, it just kind of sucks in comparison.

Trust me, I’ve worked, lived, and traveled in most every Texas coastal burg from Boca Chica Beach/Rio Grande River to Galveston-CB, and the Texas “Coastal Bend” is the best.
Rockport in particular is tops all around, barring things like Hurricane Harvey that hit us first, head on, at it’s peak strength. Things haven’t yet fully recovered, up to a third of the area may never recover.
