Paul Manafort, former Trump campaign chair and friend to Russian strongmen, has filed suit against Robert Mueller, Rob Rosentstein, and the Justice Department claiming that Mueller’s investigation is illegal. Yep, that’s what they’re wasting time on today.
Understatement of the day comes from white collar crime attorney Sol Wisenberg, who told CNBC, “I think it’s going to be an uphill battle. These kinds of things usually don’t prevail.”
Manafort has pulled out all the stops. We’re popping popcorn right now.

OTOH, this kind of shenanigan is going to cost him a boatload of dollars. So, there is that.
1Obviously he’s looking for a Trump pardon rather than plea deal with Mueller. Yet another indication that stuff’s gettin’ real.
I wonder if there have been secret promises of pardons. If so, how long until it leaks, likely from the T himself.

My little bride suggests Manafort be about the business of cutting deals with any and all prosecutors, because Putin’s Mafia in Russia and the Ukraine kill loose ends such as Manafort. Too bad Mario Puzo can’t write a piece of “fiction” on this story.

You doubt this. How about the judges in virginia ignoring and rewriting election law in the middle of a case to enable thuglicans to retain control of the house of delegates.
The supreme court has a loyal cadre of whack job hacks appointed by the twit and demented donnie. Starting with gorsuch and roberts and only lacking kennedy, who likes to pretend not to be partisan but whenever push comes to shove he falls in line and obeys his political puppet masters ( Bush V. Gore)
So don’t be so sure this will not go anywhere. A little venue shopping and judge selection and Muellers investigation can go the same way that the John Doe investigation in Wisconsin went shot down by a flagrently partisan court to protect their thuglican masters.
