It’s Texas Family Thing
Okay, Collin County is pretty much the last Republican big city (Fort Worth) hold out.
Republican Van Taylor used to hold the Texas Senate District 8 seat but he’s retiring, so an interesting match-up has developed in the GOP.
In March, Phillip Huffines announced he was running for it. Phillip has been the Collin county chairman of the Republican GOP. He is also the twin brother of Don Huffines, who is currently in the Texas Senate representing Senate District 16.
There a picture of Don Huffines. Or maybe it’s Phillip. I dunno. They are twins. They can share pictures.
And all was pretty quiet until this afternoon when … the wife of indicted felon and fountain pen stealing Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that she was running.
Here’s how you know something about her. She packs a pistol.
Angela Paxton, a former guidance counselor at Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco, Texas, is running to be in the Texas Senate.
The fact that her husband is going to trial pretty soon over criminal securities fraud would dampen a lesser spirit but brash and brazen dance in her head.
This is gonna be fun.
A perfect storm! Let the snacilbupeR feast upon each other. Is there a Democratic candidate ready to fill the void? It would be a shame to waste the opportunity when the snacilbupeR are maimed and self-destroying.
1A pistol? She packs a damn pistol? Sigh.
2There is a female Senator from Iowa who packs a debater which she said she was gonna use on the Senate. Hence the moniker she earned: Joanie Ivanacutyernutsoff.
What is it with Republican women? they have so little going for them in way too many ways that they have to rely on weapons.
It is my sad duty as a Collin County resident to inform readers of JJs it’s-not-a-blog site that not one single Dem. holds an elected office in all of Collin County. The last election had two runoffs but the R candidate took both. Perhaps next time.
3Ft. Worth is in Tarrant County. Collin County is north of Dallas County, and it’s full of conservative Republicans in cities like Plano and Allen.
4Although I’m not in Texas, there are similarities. But the truth of the matter is that the rethugs everywhere are picnicking upon each.
5You are right about your geography. I apologize. You’d think I’d do better after the Race Across Texas!

There is one blue area in McKinney around Finch Elementary School.
7A Guidance Counselor at a Christian Academy packs a pistol? The Church Lady of SNL fame: “Well, isn’t that special?”

9To be more specific: “Well, isn’t that .38 Special?”
