I’m trying not getting excited yet but I am jumping up and down so much that I swear I can thread a sewing machine while it’s running.
At the same time, however, Trump is struggling in places Republicans have won consistently and that he must hold to have any hope of winning. These states include Arizona and Georgia, as well as Texas — the biggest surprise in the 50-state results. The Texas results, which are based on a sample of more than 5,000 people, show a dead heat, with Clinton ahead by one percentage point.
That means down ballot races are in play in Texas. Rumor has it that she’s ahead by double digits in Harris County (think: Houston).
Wait till the Low IQ Bigot vote is counted. Its not over till its over. Just get out the vote,
1Sounds good, but I just have to wonder what on earth Trump would have to say or do to stop certain people from voting for them. (He’s already announced that shooting someone wouldn’t do it and I think that’s literally true.)
I have always thought one key trait of a WingNut was the lack of a sense of humor, especially where satire is concerned. I am now adding a total lack of common sense and judgement to that list.

4Hillary also has 272 Electoral votes … she only needed 270. We cannot let our guard down!! Perhaps TX will be purple rather then deep blue. At least it is a start!!
5Knowing my county (Gillespie), I’m skeptical of this happening. But I do have to say that I’ve seen zero yard signs for Trump so far this election. Zip, nada, bupkis. By this time in 2012 there were Romney/Ryan signs and bumper stickers all over the place. With that said, the county went big for Cruz in the primary and maybe those folks will sit out this election in disgust. One can only hope.
6Those of us in the far boonies know that in our small counties, Democrats are not going to get many votes. We couldn’t elect the Virgin Mary as a Dem in this county. What could we do with our money that would specifically help Hilary get more votes?Where would our money do the most good?
7I urge everyone to make sure you’re registered, and to VOTE. If you’re in a state requiring photo ID, do everything in your power to make sure your friends-family members-colleagues-associates-neighbors-fellow congregants etc. can register and VOTE. Maybe a small gift of money (disguised as a loan to save face), maybe access to high speed internet access to track down documents, maybe ride(s) to the DMV or to the polls — do what you can to increase turnout for Hillary. Take nothing for granted this election. VOTE.
8Well it could be a couple of things. Evangelicals who are truly religious would find Trump’s mixture of ignorance and indifference to religion off putting. I don’t even do religion, and it disgusts me to see him trying it on. Anybody who buys it is an utter fool.
And crooked as they may be, many of the Texas oilmen and whatever are real, competent businessmen. Looking at Trump’s string of scams and failures, they know a bad investment when they see one.

Yep for the Clinton 2016 campaign, 0800 Labor Day morn in each time zone, it was “cry havoc and set loose the dogs of war”, so to speak.
Secy Clinton here, President Clinton there, Tim Kaine some place else and surrogates live on every cable channel. Surprised Hair Drumpf’s team didn’t call Broken Arrow, burrow up and wait for the help.
11Donna – I am putting my money on down ballot races in counties where they CAN win – Harris, Fort Bend, and Dallas. We need a whole new judicial system in Harris and Fort Bend. Down ballot races also drive turnout. People who know someone down ballot will go vote for them even if they don’t want to vote for President. However while there they generally will vote in other races.
12I don’t know why I see stories like this and I also see headlines saying that the race is closing and they’re neck and neck. I don’t read those stories, I admit, because they contradict my view of reality.
13TTPT: Same here in suburban VA. I’m in PW and my area was carpeted with Romney signs… one house in particular looked like RNC headquarters! This year? Not one sign. Not even for the locals. You’d think there wasn’t an election happening. Hmmmm.
14@JAK, You are right! I’m just north in Fairfax. I’ve seen some Trump bumper stickers and a few Hillary but not many yard signs to speak of. One Comstock (my Congresscritter) on the way to work and a Trump on my way to the gym are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.
15Really wish the Texas Dems had some bodies to run against the downballot rethugs around here but a lot of these GOP yahoos run without an opponent. So practically speaking, there is just a blank spot across from the GOPer candidate in these local ballots. The Dem voter apathy and lack of party spending is really evident in this state.
BTW, one data pont is not a trend. Sorry to be a downer but I REALLY, REALLY want to be proven wrong.
16My Hillary yard sign arrived today! It will be the first one in the neighborhood. No Drumpf signs yet, though.
17People in this mostly college-educated area must be ashamed to admit they support him, if they do. This is a Repuglican area though. Off to put up my yard sign.
Allow me please to echo loudly what Zyxomna has said consistently for months… VOTE! VOTE!! VOTE!!! We need to make this happen SO BIG that it will shake the very foundation of modern-day conservatism. We MUST overwhelmingly tell the world where we stand and where we’re going and that it is NOT Trump’s way or the Republican way. This is our time and our chance to stand and be counted. NO EXCUSES! NO COULDA, SHOULDA, WOULDA! It’s time to look a friend dead square in the eye and tell them, “Yes. Our friendship depends on this!”
We can make this happen. VOTE!
18Hmmm. The Hillary yard signs are available for a donation at the local Hillary office which is kind of hidden in a local shopping center. However, if you see the Dairy Queen store you can’t miss the Hillary office! So far no one has stopped by my house asking if I want a sign (donation) or permission to plant a Hillary sign in my front yard. Have also not seen one single crumb or flake of any Trump efforts in my area which has a whale of a lot of military and retired Feds of all sorts, including Congresscritters.
19Organizers can’t stand yard signs. The Obama campaign wouldn’t provide them for the longest time in ’08 because they use up a ton of manpower. I split the difference by piggy-backing on the buys of a Toledo union and loading up the back of my midlife crisis Mitsubishi. These we sold at cost or gave to good volunteers.
In local campaigns, however, they still carry a cachet and they are also a good use of volunteers who aren’t the best at phone bankin’ and organizin’ and such. But they’re still an ungodly expense.
Last small town campaign I assisted, we went with a window sign 8.5×11 that the candidate could pass out as he walked or folks could download and print themselves. THAT worked like gangbusters!
20I stopped looking a polls, one says she’s ahead by a skosh, and another shows Trump ahead by a skosh. Osh Kosh Bigosh, forget the polls.
21Worrying is one of the things I do best, so I’m trying to ignore anything that exacerbates that. So I did read this TX story in Wapo. I’m keeping my eyes crossed for luck. I’m also giving free rides to the polls here in Minnesota. Hillary will win, but I’m focused on the local Senate race. Angie Craig is a great candidate running against a creepy named Jason A$$hole, or something like that. He’s a talk radio bigot who would be at home on Ailes’ Faux News. She’s ahead to replace Krappy (John) Kline. That’s a Democratic seat pick up. Go Ms. Craig. BTW, she’s a health company exec and will be a big help fixing Obamacare. (

23This may sound strange but it’s really too bad that they’ve got the Drumph to blame it on. You know that they never take responsibility for anything. They will go on making the same mistakes that they have been making for 100 years; Tax cuts for the rich and screwing the middle class.
24We have to remember that when we have them on the ropes, go in for the finish. HILLARY MUST WIN EVERY STATE!
Obama won the county by less than 1 full percentage point 4 years ago. I’ll eat my hat if Clinton wins by 10 percentage points.
