I Have Become a Born-Again Birther
First, there’s an editorial in the Washington Post from a constitutional scholar explaining why Ted Cruz cannot be president and it doesn’t include the words “because he’s a blowhard fool” anywhere in it, which proves it’s a better job writing than I can do.
James Madison, known as the “father of the Constitution,” stated, “It is an established maxim that birth is a criterion of allegiance. . . . [And] place is the most certain criterion; it is what applies in the United States.”
Cruz is, of course, a U.S. citizen. As he was born in Canada, he is not natural-born.
This scholar also points out the errant ways of those who try to twist the constitution to say that Ted, who is blowhard fool, can be president. She says they “misapply and ignore the relevant law.” You know, as does the blowhard fool, Ted Cruz.
And then, there’s this. Ted’s Mom may have become a Canadian citizen herself.
Yet Cruz’s mother’s name appears on a Canadian government document, obtained by TPM in 2013, that lists Canadian citizens eligible to vote in 1974.
Well, theres the other possibility – she may have been trying to commit voter fraud. That might be compensation for having given birth to a blowhard fool.
But the Number One Reason Ted Cruz Can’t Be Pesident?

2I still love that the GOP committee in Virginia has requested that Fairfax County Schools close for the day for the primaries (most voting places are in schools) because of the possible rowdyness of Trump supporters. And it might happen to great expense and inconvenience to parents. They know their people I guess. BTW Cruz wouldn’t stand a snowman’s chance in hell around here.
3Now we really want to know about that party in Texas last. First Elizabeth Moon, then Micr, now Miss JJ. Unless “blowhard fool” has a special meaning in Texas that the rest of us don’t know, Miss JJ is half-stepping today.
4Blowhard yes, but I don’t think Cruz is a fool. I think he’s a greasy shrewd amoral publicity-grubbing Joe McCarthy glassbowl, but not a fool.
To clarify Linda Phipps’ comment, in case it’s not well-known outside the VA area: the VA GOP wants to make voters in the state GOP primary sign a paper saying that they’re Republicans. The assumption is that some Trumpets won’t want to pledge their allegiance to the GOP, and that “No sign, no vote” may cause some of them to become agitated. VA, as site of the NRA HQ, may have a fair number of gun-sucking Trumpets, hence the fear for nearby kids.
5Should Cruz change his campaign sign from saying:

I don’t know if he is a “natural born” citizen or not. I do know that until he decided to run for president he was still a Canadian citizen. That alone should disqualify him from being president.

10I always wondered about Cruzer’s mama. She always seemed to be hidden away by Cruz and his pappy. I kinda figured that if she was a real red white and blue ‘Murican she would be out front in all the photographs. By the way, my Canadian cousins will not accept the return of the Cruzer. The deal with him dropping his Canadian citizenship was a no money back situation. However, they will welcome President Obama with open arms after his term is up.

I was already wanting this to go to the supreme court, because it needs to be settled law. Now I really want to see it so that all of this comes out about Cruz. Bring on the popcorn!

18Duckslayer Robertson listed his reasons for endorsing Cruz:
1 – He’s Godly – Well, his batcrap crazy daddy thinks he’s The Chosen One, and they had some sort of ceremony, so okay. Though I think that Cruz thinks of himself as God-LIKE.
2a – He loves us. I’m pretty sure that sociopaths don’t experience love, so I’m not buying this one.
2b – He’s one of us. Us who? Delusional Christian sociopaths? Educated guys who masquerade as hicks to play to their base? Daughter spankers? Whatever.
3 – He can do the job. Robertson doesn’t specify what that would entail. But Lordy mercy, it sounds ominous.
4 – He’s willing to go out and shoot a duck, and put it in a pot to make Duck Gumbo. Well, ya got me there. What could be more presidential? I’m just filing it under Pandering.
But I do want Cruz in the race, at least for a few primaries. Because seeing him and Trump really going after each other, like a couple of T-Rexes fighting over a carcass, slashing with teeth, and bellowing out screams of pure reptilian rage – that might show more people their true natures. A few of them might even come to their senses.

20As if I didn’t have enough reasons already to detest Teddy, now I’ve got Robertson’s endorsement. As Lunargent illustrates admirably above, Phil has nothing relevant to say and never has. The man is an imbecile, a hypocrite, a woman-hater, a racist, a pretend-Christian, a bigot, a liar, … Oh, somebody stop me here before I keep going and offend JJ’s momma. Still I gotta love that Cruz has now become a victim of his own “birther” crap. What goes around comes around. The clowns are getting crazier and crazier.
