I Swear. I Swear To God.
Newt Gingrich, American hero, has offered himself up to return to the job he totally screwed up in 1999 – Speaker of the House.
History —
Then, after a poor GOP showing in the 1998 mid-terms, a bruised Gingrich quit. On his way out, however, Never Nice Newt said he was glad to be going because he was “not willing to preside over people who are cannibals.”
And this from a person who had a one-word rejoinder for anyone — friend or foe alike — who challenged him: Pathetic.
Pathetic, that’s a lot like loser.
Newt Damn Gingrich. Dear God.
Newt the Pewt got the bewt. Never again.
1Fortunately, there’s not a chance in Hell . . .
2He’d be a good fit for the tea baggers. The most ethically and morally challenged congressman to lead the most ethically and morally challenged congress.
This is what a Koch/Republican government looks like.
3Well, the Repubs are desperately trying to turn the clock (and the calendar) back to previous times, so perhaps Gingrich is a good fit.
4Now you know why St. Ronnie destroyed the Nations mental health care system. They would have lost 99.9% of the Republican Party to being ‘Institutionalized’.
5We would have kissed Newt goodbye a long time ago.
About the only good thing Newt ever did was to make an ad with Nancy Pelosi in which they agreed that we needed to work on preventing climate change.

Then the GOP went insane and denounced science as a liberal plot, and they’ve been working to bugger up the planet as hard as they can ever since.
If we could turn the clock back a bit, to when we had several decades more to haul back on the destruction, that wouldn’t be a bad thing.
6As good a Speaker as a husband; he’s a sure-fire winner.
7If the House was “cannibals” then, they’re a bunch of drunken cannibals who turn their seed corn into whiskey and eat their young now.
8Wait a minute…I thought Newt was gonna do this:

The flights between Washington and the moon would be awful expensive.
9Gingrich is delusional if he thinks anybody wants back in the saddle. Another sociopath republican grasping for power.
10correction: “…if anybody wants him back in the saddle”.
11What a rootin’ tootin’ cheating liar of a husband and congressman was he.
Senor Gingrich, estas demente?
12@Don A in Pennsyltucky
13very apt description. And a bit frightening.
That’s typical republican for you, they never do anything original, just failed retreads over and over again.
14Yes, Newt, that worked so well for us the last time. Which should be the LAST time you get near the halls of congress with anything other than a visitor’s pass.
15Kellybee,wingnuts would be spending someone else’s money ,therefore, not a problem. Deficits didn’t matter last time wingnuts were in total control.
16Ever wonder where you go if even hell rejects you?
17Yeah, having Newt Gingrich back would be like Texas electing Bill Clements governor twice. And I’m afraid that it might actually be preferable to Paul Ryan, while we are discussing soulless, morally bankrupt, self-promoting jerks! I don’t like Bill Flores one little bit (my Congress a-hole, supposedly contemplating throwing his hat in the ring), but he would merely be more ineffective than Boehner (he’s not nearly as smart or savvy as Orange John!); he’s an oily little rascal with an unwarrantedly high opinion of himself, but I don’t think he’s actually evil-whereas Paul Ryan IS actually evil! However, Ryan is not stupid either, and I think he chairs Ways and Means, which is a position of great power, and far greater power than Speaker, because it is less public, if I am not mistaken. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t Tip O’Neill on Ways and Means for years? Someone who knows more than I do, help me out here?
18Unless Boehner works with the Dems to get a whole bunch of things worked out (debt ceiling, for example), the new Speaker is going to be plunged into a mess he can’t possibly win.
His choices will be to tick off the Tea Party or to close down the government for no good reason (which will empower the Tea Party, something no sane Repub should want).
19OMG, someone suggested Cheney. My brain is very sore from trying to decide who would be worse….Cheney/ Gingrich/Romney/Ryan.???????? Chaffetz, Issa??? Oh, dear, I may start drinking.
20Aggieland Liz, Tip was on the Rules committee. Newt was on the fraud and check kiting committee of hypocrites. Appears neither was ever chairman of ways & means. Newt should be best remembered for his Contract on America; his philandering was only secondary.
It would be my ultimate schadenfreude for the week, if the Freedom F^ckers took out Paul Ryan in their lust for theocracy. There are days I appreciate their scorched earth tactics.
21pkm, I like F squared.
22Nothing in this whole silly country of ours would be worse than allowing Cheney within spitting distance of Congress….
23The mere thought gives me the vapors.
Thanks PKM, I remembered that he had consolidated his position as part of a committee, but couldn’t remember which one (and I really can’t play on the computer all day, gotta ton of things to do in the garden-and it’s a great day for it here!)
24Ok. So the job of House Speaker seems to be one that a number of Americans don’t want. I say give it to an illegal alien. Hey, they already do so many of the jobs Americans don’t want!
25maggie, no dear goddess, just no. On reflection of the tactics the Freedom F^ckers are willing to employ, I must insist that Paul Ryan take the job. Given their current mood, Boehner got off easy. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for Lyin’ Ryan. Hope his birth records contain a foot print by which his remains will be identified. It’s a given that he doesn’t have a military record for said purpose.
26One of the best things I never had a chance to say was a number of years ago when I had some bookcases delivered, and the driver commented that he was taking the identical ones to the Gingrich house (this is Fairfax County VA) … OH to have ventured to say “Tell Mrs. Newt that the flaming liberal has the same furniture”.
27Last week as I “guested” 5 nights at MDAnderson Cancer Center in Houston, I thought about Newt. Remember, he took his wife who was dying of cancer, the divorce decree for her to sign in her bed. Even as I had 5 different drugs pumping into my body, I felt rage for her. I can never understand voting for someone with that behavior.
WWJD-he certainly would not vote for Newt and like kind.
28But, but, but … Just like George Washington!
29The House Repugs are dysfunctional which why the government is dysfunctional. These ignoramuses are causing the decline of our nation. Make America Sane Again: get rid of republican’ts.
30My vote goes to Darrel Issaanahole. We know what he is and how he would rule.
31Is that the God man created?
32I would be enjoying the House debacle, if it weren’t having such horrid effects on those of us NOT in Congress.
