Indeed They Do Hate Hillary That Much

September 29, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

ABC News has something that pretty much went under the radar.

The House committee investigating the Benghazi attacks is now the longest congressional investigation in history, committee Democrats announced today.

As of Monday, the House Select Committee on Benghazi, has been active for 72 weeks — surpassing the record previously held by the Watergate Committee in the 1970’s.

I dunno, I expect it’ll last until Hillary admits to personally killing people.

  1. Newest “scandal” is that her height has changed. Yeah, you read that right.

    1
  2. As Bill Clinton says: as long as it keeps working they will keep doing it.

And it is working. It doesn’t matter if there is no substance. As long as the media keeps selling the story that “somethingwronghillarybenghziemailsliar” that is all it needs to accomplish. Only when the media make the mainline story what is actually going on repeatedly more often than not will it stop.

72 weeks? Nothing. It is just taxpayer money not RNC money. So why not 720 weeks?

  3. This nonsense has to stop. The repuglicans have been wasting millions of our tax dollars to prevent Hillary Clinton from becoming President. The ridiculous email investigation added to this totally political witch hunt over Benghazi can no longer be justified. Anyone with half a brain can see through this garbage.
At what point does somebody call it off? What a colossal waste of time and money.

  4. JJ,

I suspect it’s as much “fear” as “hate”.

They fear Mrs. Clinton, and her impact on the 2016 elections.

Having said that, I “fear” we will be reading about Benghazi, p until October 31, 2016. The Rethugs will drag this out as long as they can.

  5. Actually, Whitewater was the longest investigation, in its various configurations. I believe it was around 380 weeks of investigation. Every time one committee or special investigator would conclude no wrongdoing, the GOP would just open up another investigation.

(I read about this yesterday, but can’t remember the source, unfortunately.)

Alan, you nailed it! Congress varmints have no respect for taxpayer money. If they did, the less than useful idiots would resign.

The Founding Fathers never anticipated the current level of lunacy, or there would be clauses in the Constitution to cover felony st00pid.

As for HRC, they call her “defensive.” Gee whiz, faux shock. After 20+ years of being attacked for major crimes and misdemeanors resembling breathing, she doesn’t feel all warm and cuddly toward the press.

  7. TruelyTexan says:

I think the Dem’s should start the loooong overdue investigation into the Bush/Cheney terrorist attacks on September 11th and how they were used to get the nation behind an unrelated war for profit. Lets see what happens when they compare Benghazi to New York and the damage, deaths, and fallout.
We can go from their and probably find far worst acts from every Republican out there than Hillary could ever claim credit for.
It would sure be interesting if the Democrats stooped to a Repugnican level for the election. Quite the bloodbath with the repugs lies and the truths about them exposed.

  8. We’ll keep looking for evidence until we find something…

Even if we have to make it up ourselves!

Remember Whitewater? Pres. Clinton was warned to appoint an impartial special prosecutor, and didn’t realize how low the ReThugs would go… (All the way down to illegal wire-tapping…)

All those millions wasted, and all they could get was a consensual blowjob story.

    8
  9. MarkJ, yes I refer to the Watergate Investigation as a punishment in search of a crime.

    9
  10. The Watergate hearings went on a long time because they kept finding stuff.

The Whitewater and Benghazi hearings go on even longer because they keep not finding stuff.

It’s sort of the reverse of the optimistic kid saying that somewhere under this pile of manure must be a pony.

  11. e platypus onion says:

Clinton did appoint an impartial Wingnut prosecutor and wingnuts promptly replaced him with a party hack by name of Ken Starr.

    11
  12. e platypus onion says:

Robert Fiske was a moderate, well respected republican. Ken Starr was http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-clintonstarr.html

    12
  13. @12 e plat,

And the ReThugs were shocked, yes SHOCKED at a public official having extramarital sex…

And now WE know their sordid truths…

    13
  14. Don’t forget the Whisper campaigns, I was living in Austin for 5 years and got a taste of it then, they are underground and you really can’t fight them as they are not in the open.

The Whisper campaign against Hillary has been going on since Bill first ran against the first Bush.

    14
  15. I have always felt that “they” are going after Bill through Hillary. They failed to impeach him and force him out of the Presidency. Now they are lined up to make sure Hill doesn’t get anywhere near it. Well, so much for thinking like a pre-French Revolution aristocrat! And looked what happened to them when Hell met high water!

    15
  16. I believe they owe us a great deal of our money that they have wasted. They are the very definition of insanity….over and over again with the same results. Psych evaluations all around.

    16
  17. It’s possible I’m out of touch, but it seems to me that Benghazi and other “scandals” are old hat at this point. They’ve been run into the ground and I suspect that few voters will pay much attention to them by the end of 2016.

The Republicans are crying “Wolf” non-stop and at some point all but the most besotted villagers are going to refuse to respond.

    17
  18. LynnN, I don’t think the big problem is one particular story, in this case, Benghazi. I think it is the overall impression that Hilary is dishonest, sneaky, and hiding something. In that, they are succeeding.

    18
  19. Debbo, that dishonest, sneaky etc. thing is being worked to death like a rented mule. Next question: what will they do after the rented mule drops dead from over exposure? What do they gin up next? And y’all are right about Benghazi. It never hit Joe and Jane Public in the Heartland like it did certain politicians on the Hill who have never learned how to tell the mule is dead. Most folks in the heartland have their own life and death issues to deal with. Something that happened in one spot on the other side of the damn globe just doesn’t ring bells with them. Now, if those anti-Hillary jerks had any sort of decent life skills they never would have pulled this crap and kept pulling it like it was salt water taffy!

    19
  20. Sorry, I had a senior moment upthread–meant to type Whitewater and typed “Watergate” instead.

    21
  21. e platypus onion says:

Debbo-after the mule dies, wingnuts call another bunch of hearings to blame Hillary for the mule’s death. If only she would have spared America this colossal wingnut disaster and admitted wrong doing the mule would still be alive.

    22
  22. e platypus onion says:

I had a senior moment and addressed the last post to Debbo instead of maggie. I’m an idiot..

  23. Top Repub admits Benghazi Committee is all about attacking Hillary Clinton

    http://www.politico.com/story/2015/09/kevin-mccarthy-grades-john-boehner-214253

Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat on the Benghazi Committee, responds:

“This stunning concession from Rep. McCarthy reveals the truth that Republicans never dared admit in public: the core Republican goal in establishing the Benghazi Committee was always to damage Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and never to conduct an even-handed search for the facts. It is shameful that Republicans have used this tragedy and the deaths of our fellow Americans for political gain. Republicans have blatantly abused their authority in Congress by spending more than $4.5 million in taxpayer funds to pay for a political campaign against Hillary Clinton.”

    24
  24. Marcia in CO says:

Yessiree … Rep. McCarthy spilled the beans, stepped flatfooted in his own pile of poop!! LOL

Are we shocked? Oh, hell no!!

    25
  25. Lunargent says:

Susan – well, up until now, this guy has functioned mostly as a fundraiser. Seems that he got his audiences confused for a moment.
