Where Are Earthquakes When You Really Need Them?
Y’all, it’s Texas Huge Homely Honkin’ Homophobe Day tomorrow at the state capitol in Austin. None, absolutely none, of the cool kids will be there.
Jesus has other plans that day, too.
Please make plans to attend the Defense of Texas Marriage Amendment Rally scheduled for Monday, March 23rd at 1:00 pm on the south steps of the Texas Capitol. Please encourage your family, friends and fellow church members to attend.
Judge Roy Moore from the Aladamnbama Supreme Court will be there to lead Hate A Gay chants and explain once again why his son is a whining weenie, which is so much better than being gay.
They say that “over 100 elected State Officials” are sponsoring the event. However, they didn’t have a disclaimer that some of them are so damn hateful that they should count twice. There’s fines for that kind of stuff.
So, steer clear of Austin on Monday because the gay people who are terrified of being gay are taking over the south steps of the capitol.
The happy gays will be on the north steps. They have rainbows.
Thanks to Herb for the heads up.
Oh dear. I sure meant to go downtown tomorrow. Sigh. Well, are there any gays who need me to go hang out with them at the Capitol? I don’t think I’m gay and I’m pretty sure my husband and kids would agree, but I’m against being ugly in the name of Jesus.
1We all gotta be Gay for a Day to meer this head on. Solidarność!
2meer = meet
3Sorry. Long Sunday…
You are having too much fun in Austin!
4If Ray Moore’s son goes to prison won’t that turn him gay?

5Man, I wish Jesus would show up with that whip he used on the temple moneylenders. “WHY don’t you people LISTEN to what I SAID….?” And, in this case, what he didn’t say, which was one single word about gay people. It’s not like he didn’t notice them, with all those Greeks and Romans around the place. He condemned a lot of other things, like divorce and remarriage, and– repeatedly– being rich, but nothing about our nonstraight friends.
So this is what you people spend your life obsessing about…? Care to tell us why…?
I suspect in some cases it’s to try to get our minds off your being rich.

7If Jesus did show with this crowd tomorrow, and started out with 5 loaves & 2 fish to share among such a hate filled and selfish multitude, he’d have nothing left in no time at all.
And Ted Cruz made it official. Check out tedcruz.com-which domain name he forgot to buy.
8And then at 2:00 pm on the South steps of the Capitol is a demonstration against HB 40 and then going to sign up to speak against it in the House Energy Committee Hearing.
That’s the bill that wants to allow gas and oil wells to be drilled anywhere, including right next door to you. Normally, the Texas legislators, in their infinite wisdom, single out Austin for working on overturning whatever ordinances we pass (think developers can develop regardless of where we say no). And then there’s no plastic bags and keeping heritage trees to attack.
But Denton really got their goat and now they’re distracted a bit from Austin. Denton had the nerve to say No Fracking in Denton. HB 40 would overrule Denton in favor of industry.
There are also a number of other bills overturning Home Rule for cities in our esteemed legislature this time around. At this rate we’d do better if they met for only 1 month every 5 years instead of the 5 months every 2 years they meet now.

10LOL. I can’t stop laughing.
Oh, dear. After reading the latest communique from JJ I googled Austin, Texas, hoping that would give me some insight on just why the homophobes were not just inviting but cherishing even the thought of apocalypse on the steps of the state capitol building. Found museums, parks, great places to kick back or eat or drink or all three but absolutely no insight as to the mentality that would generate a hatefest. The fact that Roy Moore is being imported for the event makes me wonder if the homophobes who do show up are also imported along with him, you know, like those demonstrations in 3rd world countries where the mobs actually consist of desperately poor people trucked in from the countryside and paid to act like lunatics. Good luck and God bless all the folks who attend the counteragent of a non-hate-fest!
11Spell check is truly rampant! its not counteragent but counterevent! Would love to gain some control over this feature!
12In lieu of earthquake, pray for a monsoon, lightning, thunder and hail.
13Micr, you were good with “meer.” Was giving you major props for creating a verb for the new Meercat technology!
Meercat will be an excellent way of sending truth to journalism and scare the cr@p out of prevaricating politicians.
If we were anywhere near Austin, would be there to show our support for the LGBT members of the community.
14Marion, if I were keeping track (but it would be a full-time job), I could add that to the long list of how the GOP is for small, local government except when a small local government does something that the GOP doesn’t like. And getting longer all the time.
15Hypocrisy is just one small part of the Republican game plan.
