YeeHaw!
Okay, so the one thing wrong with Texas is not enough guns in the hands of enough nuts, right?
I mean, we’ve got almost enough guns and more than enough nuts, but the getting them together part is problematic.
Come and Take It Texas is planning to use a manufacturing device to create firearms during its rally at the Capitol on Tuesday, when lawmakers’ 2015 session begins.
Their goal is to scrap the licensing requirement for handguns. They believe that ‘shall not be infringed’ mean anyone can carry any kind of gun in any manner they want to.
There’s even a $25 model!
YeeHaw, Y’all!
The miracle of 3-D printers. Astronauts on the space station can now make spare parts with a 3-D printer to maintain the health and safety of crew members living there, while here on earth we just print more of what we already have too much of. Guns, and apparently health and safety.
1So how are your lawmakers on carrying any kind of gun you want to into the statehouse? Are they that insane in Texas? Could make voting on bills more interesting, if someone has a bead on you the whole time– or a whole bunch of people, why not? Bring your rocket-propelled grenade launchers into the legislative chambers, we don’t care! Lock and load!
2I suspect the person firing the gun may be at as much risk as the person on the (nominal) receiving end.
BTW, are these guns plastic and would they pass through an airline security check?
3This is why we need the universal service requirement Israel has. If we want everyone to carry a gun then we need them to get TRAINED, and serve where they might get their a$$ shot off if they make a mistake. (I served in uniform 25 years, and am a gun owner.)
4Remember when home made or otherwise improvised firearms were called “zip guns”?
5Don A, here are some homemade guns including the 1940/50’s ZIP gun!

6*Real* America exported a Texas gun nut to Colorado…she was rewarded with this headline: “… candidate points AR-15 at man in park, gets arrested again for impersonating cop while in jail”

Gun manufacturers may not like the loss of revenue this represents. Or do they get a cut of these too.
8What does ‘well regulated militia’ mean?
9Where does one need to look to find a “well regulated militia” in Texas, or any state?
10I don’t like guns so I looked up Printable Houses. Fascinating. And anyone who has a permit may skip security to enter the Capitol.
11The desire to carry a firearm for protection is understandable, even though the risks involved and the question of effectiveness make the issue debatable. Less understandable is what motivates “open carry” proponents. Maybe they think they will be safer if they can fast draw from the hip. But, based upon the appearance of many proponents, it is probably nothing more than compensating for a serious case of little man syndrome.
12Larry from CO, police officers are supposed to be trained in the use of guns, and we’ve had several of them shoot themselves lately, so I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in training everybody. In the words of George Carlin, “Think of how stupid the average person is… and half of them are stupider than that!”
13I hear that the North Carolina legislature is allowing open carry during session. What dang fools! Once had hoped to tour certain areas of that state such as that fancy Vanderbilt place and the historic colonial Tryon governor’s mansion et al. I think I can safely forget about all that. And I emphasize safely.
14Will they be replicating their small genitalia as well?
15Maggie, a quick look revealed the (otherwise stupid) NC legislature does not allow ‘open carry’ in the state house.
Biltmore Estate is in Asheville, where I live, and is four hours away from the state capitol in Raleigh.
NC is an open carry state, however, as are all but about seven or eight US states.
16Permits or not, I still don’t like the idea of folks wandering around with guns in their pockets, purses, hitched up pants or anywhere else. Period. Unless you’re really worried about running across a rabid skunk on the lawn of the Capitol. Now there’s a good reason for a gun.
17Maryelle,
This is going to cut into the gun industry’s profits, for sure. It’s going to be real interesting to watch play out.
18Training isn’t apparently enough. A handgun safety instructor shot and killed an unarmed autistic man who banged on his door early Monday morning, in Austin. Man was from a group home in the cul de sac, but Mr. Bigshot was of course ‘defending his home and family.’
19Open Carry Texas does NOT support this demonstration and has apparently tried to urge CATI to cancel the demonstration.
OK, pass the popcorn, this is going to get interesting.
20So what’s wrong with in fringed arms?

21@Marge Wood, I understand there are a lot of skunks running around the Capitol these days! Some of them have guns themselves.
22Lynn, they’re metal. One of the great things about 3D printing is the wide variety of materials with which to print. Yes, the majority of 3D printed stuff is made of plastic, but not all. Biomechanical engineers are working on printed human tissues (including organs). I don’t believe in god, but if I did, I’d ask her to protect us all from the gun nuts.
