This Dude Has Had A Really Bad Month
Kory Watkins is President of Open Carry Tarrant County (Fort Worth). He’s a gun exhibitionist, which is kinda like a pole dancer but the pole has a trigger.
To start the month off, there was a witty little visit from Missy Karma. Kory was out pitching hissy fits at a DUI safety checkpoint set up by Arlington police. Kory doesn’t believe in checkpoints so to make his statement, he screamed obscenities at the police while they were conducting the checkpoint. He also spent time warning drivers that there was a checkpoint down the road. So, of damn course, on the way home he gets rear ended by … yep … a drunk driver.
But he thinks you’re “sick” if you see any humor in that.
“I see a few sick I individuals taken time to think this is a joke or it’s funny that the cops helped me,” Watkins said. “Let me say this. I am happy the police showed up to catch him but I’m trying to figure out where they helped me any….. Was it the part where they showed up 15 minutes after the crime or was it when they wrote me a 300$ ticket after my car was totaled?”
The ticket was for driving without a valid license. Kory doesn’t believe in valid licenses.
Kory has difficulty with that whole time continuum thingy. If the cops had stopped the drunk driver at the checkpoint, Kory would not have been hit.
He then proceeded to try to raise money to pay his fine and buy a new car because walking around with a big pole doesn’t pay near as well as you’d suspect. Kory also doesn’t believe in insurance.
Then, one of his recruits and members in good standing, kills her husband and his daughter with a gun. That she was openly carrying. Kory does not believe a gun did that despite bullet holes.
And now, well, it looks like he’s not going to believe in the Secret Service.
I dunno. That kinda sounds a little bit like, you know, armed freekin’ rebellion.
I don’t believe in that.
Thanks to Irene for the heads up.
What’s this “we” crap white man? (edit for Momma)
1I would hope that his eventual jail house togs match that pretty fedora.
2Actually, it is funny that the cops helped you, and you are the sick one. You are like every other conservative/glibertarian nut job: You hate the government until YOU want or need something.
And on top of that you still lecture people. Unreal.
3He doesn’t believe in insurance. But if the drunk driver believed in insurance then Kory-boy would probably believe in getting paid by that insurance. And if the drunk driver didn’t believe in insurance and Kory-boy didn’t believe in getting coverage for uninsured/under-insured motorists then I do get to laugh at the irony.
4He is what my mother’s pop would have called a “Bolshie”. Google that. Its a lot of fun. Certainly more fun that this nut cake. Reminds me that very small towns have a great way of taking care of the local folks who see things in the air that we don’t. Whenever one of these seers is out in public in town and proclaiming what they see, they are very gently guided back home. Now I make note that Fort Worth ain’t one of those small towns. Too bad. If it was, this guy would probably be nice and snug in the attic somewhere after the neighbors sweet talked him home.

6I really like the hat.
“This Dude Has Had a Really Bad Month”
…trying to find a decent hat?
7He is urging armed insurrection, wonder where that will end? Perhaps we should stay tuned.
8Maybe Kory Watkins should just pack up those six shooters, move to Jackson, Mississippi and find himself a nice horse he can settle down with (win-win since he doesn’t have a drivers license).
9Sounds like sedition to me.
10Karma would be him protesting Gays and THEN getting rear-ended by a Gay,if you know what I mean. He might like it. In prison he’d learn to like it.
11All of these “i don’t like what’s happening so let’s get our guns and take over” boys just didn’t get enough training in social behavior as children. Mentally they’re still about four years old, tops. (I started with six and went down; maybe someone with actual kids can correct my estimate.)
12Maybe we can all pitch in an buy him a Pinto, in anticipation of the next time he gets rear ended.
There are also a few Gremlins still available.
13Kory Watkins is President of Open Carry Idiots R Us (Fort Worthless).
14people actually gave him money for a new car? There IS a sucker born every minute!!!!
So, if he had caused the accident, he would be unable to pay for the damages to the other person’s car?
He should be walking.
15Why is this man out free walking our streets. Threatening to take a band of 1000 armed terrorist to Washington has got to be a chargable offence. Perhaps he should be charged with treason.
16The rebellion part I can understand until I think of trying to keep the county Democratic party offices open pro bono. I don’t think carrying a gun would help that one bit.
17This is why it’s handy to have a public Government, Judicial system, and Police force, etc. to protect us from dangerous kooks like Kory Watkins.
18This guy has tried to demonstrate his open carry ideas in other locales and has fallen flat and was unable to find more than a handful of other fools to participate. If we have a slow news day we could be hearing about him on cable for at least 48 hours.
19Kory is on his way to a Trifecta of a bad month. All he needs is a little gun cleaning accident to aerate his little one or shoot off his gohmerts. Be a good boy and a responsible gun owner, Kory. Get out the kit and clean your guns. Darwin is counting on you.
20“A very large group of people” – like 200 from every state, meaning 10,000? Even in his wildest dreams of 100% attendance, that barely fills a football stadium.
And he thinks he’s going to take over the government?
21Bless his heart. He has had a bad life. He needed a lot of hugs, sans guns and goofy hats, about 35 years ago.
22The hat covers up the hole in his head. Must be a big’n.
23@Lless
24Thought the same thing. Clearly the boy has a mouse in his pocket.
Frankly, I do not want to know what’s wrong with Kory.
25You have to give him a lot of credit for not saying he was going to overthrow the government to preserve and protect the Constitution.
26So, 200 from each state? Yeah, that’ll do it. That’s a teeny, tiny fraction of the people who showed up at Woodstock.
Interestingly, Watkin’s “anti-government” philosophy is actually quite typical for the radical right. They want small government–for everyone except themselves.
27Stay far, far away from this guy. He’s going to act out, and it’ll be sooner rather than later.
28We’ve got plenty of RW kooks here in Tarrant County. It is amazing how many of these “patriots” are living off a government funded disability, Social Security and receiving government provided healthcare.
29I’m pretty sure Kory has problems w math too; thus the “large” group of 10000 (200×50??!) – but to a guy that can count his faithful co-demonstrators on the fingers of one hand, 200 may seem like a huge number.
30This is the type of people rogue cops should be going postal on,not unarmed civilians.
31Kory is this guy!

32The problem with this guy is the problem with a lot of these people. They are losers. They don’t want to feel like losers. So they arm themselves, and they feel powerful, and in control. But it’s illusory.
It’s also why they band together, in little clubs and Klans and tea parties, so that their feeling of loser-dom is shared, mitigated, ameliorated. Their egos are salved and buffed. Their out-of-whack thinking is confirmed and legitimized.
And then they start to think they’re something.
But it’s illusory.
The scum that float to the top of these special-pleading cesspools become the Cory Watkins of the world.
33Yeah,
I kinda like the hat :-/
34Good one,Fred.
35Karma is the Laws of Probabilities at work, if he is an idiot and a thug, bad things will most likely happen to him, an idiot and a thug.
36Interesting how “not believing” often has reality crashing in on it.
37He’s white so he gets away with encouraging armed rebellion…I’m still seriously ticked off that nothing has been done about Cliven Bundy, while black people can’t go for a walk or shop for a kid’s toy gun in Wal-Mart or anything else without being harassed, and–if the cop’s feeling “threatened,” shot or choked dead. This guy needs to feel the chilly touch of handcuffs and be locked up where he can’t hurt anybody. So does Cliven and the rest of those thugs who were blocking a public road and threatening to shoot law enforcement.
