  1. Ralph Wiggam says:

I suspect that the Supremes will conclude that the Obamacare subsidy is only legal in states with state-run exchanges. That will lower the life expectancy of Republican governors by about 20 years.

Linda Greenhouse has an interesting take on the situation.

  2. Not that i minded the conclusion John Roberts did on AHA, it was the contortionist-19th century drama approach he took in writing and reading his opinion. The “flow” left me gasping for breath and cackling simultaneously. There is a chance that if he does this again, this old woman might not be able to take it, but boy he had better not reverse himself in any way!

  3. So the Republicans have taken over Congress and the Supreme Court and now seek to allow (Republican-owned) corporations to filter what gets transmitted on the Internet. If that happens, we average Americans are sunk.

  4. Every time I have to see Cruz, he morphs into Joe McCarthy. I hope for a shorter reign and an equally dramatic downfall.

  5. That McCaRthy/Cruz cartoon terrifies me. What creeps.

I agree, Cruz terrifies me. I hope he goes the way of McCarthy soon, before he can create more dissention. He is truly creepy!

Love the last one – the cat lady finally wakes up to reality! 🙂

  7. Here’s something for Cruz to look forward to. First you get a bronze bust made in your honor, then:

The large bust of “Tailgunner Joe” McCarthy down in a small room in the basement was perfect – removed from the courthouse and stashed in the basement in shame, but not erased from history, just stuck in the place of dishonor for people to ponder.

  8. Hippie in the Holler says:

If the Repubs repeal, tank, bruise, spindle,or mutilate the ACA or Kynect I may need bail money or at least vistors.

Thanks to President Obama and Gov. Beshear I’m still alive and functioning in the workforce. The option was in 2 to 5 years, disabled, mobility impaired, blind and waiting for a stroke or MI to finish me off.
    Ain’t goin’ back thar again.

  9. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Hippie in the Holler, there’s only one way for the ACA to go and that isn’t away. It can be expanded to include all or it can be replaced with single-payer.

The Teabagistan contingent in Congress can huff and puff, but too many people have already enjoyed the benefits of the ACA or have family and friends who benefit from affordable health care.

While never a great fan of the ACA, have accepted it knowing it’s some help to many. Essentially, I would like to see it expanded to cover the whole person. Overall health is important, so there’s plenty of room for improvements like dental and eye care.

    9
  10. PKM, and don’t forget mental healthcare! When the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law, that entire contingent with mental healthcare issues was forgotten. Cannot understand why someone, say like Senator Leahy, hasn’t picked up on this and done something about it.

    10
  11. Polite Kool Marxist says:

maggie, thank you for the reminder. Mental health is definitely a component of overall health that benefits all of us. I look at it as the NRA provision to prevent someone suffering from depression, delusions or any condition that would make them take their life or the lives of others. And, it’s a quality of life issue for so many, too.

Gracious SOB that I am, I don’t care if Wayne LaPierre receives care at taxpayer expense. We’ll all be safer, if he gets help.

    11
  12. Marge Wood says:

I just read that article from NYT re: ACA. I think I’m gonna not read or watch the news and just wait for it to come to the door. Or to JUANITA JEAN’S. That’s good enough for me.

  13. Mary in San Antonio says:

The only thing I want to know about Cruz is why is his mother never mentioned. I do know his parents are divorced, but she is never mentioned. Is she wise enough to know her son is a blooming idiot and is ashamed that she gave birth to him? We always hear about his crazy father, but other than the fact that she was an American citizen, does anyone know anything about her?
