Are You Kidding Me?
Y’all remember RickPAC, the super pac set up by Rick Perry to aid other crazy butt far right Republicans and get their support in return when he runs for President.
RickPAC, as the committee is called, will be able to donate money to the campaigns of Republican congressional candidates around the country. Such organizations are a way for prospective presidential candidates to curry support within their party. Perry, whose disastrous 2012 primary campaign was marred by a series of memorable gaffes, has said that he will be much better prepared if he decides to run for president again in 2016.
Well, I figured that ole Rick would raise millions to hand out and curry political favor.
Nope.
Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen sent me the latest RickPAC federal report.
He’s raised an embarrassing pittance in the world of political PACs. $181,000 is nothing.
So, I wanted to make sure my math was right so I emailed Alfredo and asked:
Wait! Wait! He only raised $181,000?
Seriously?
Why isn’t it making money?
Alfredo’s one word response?
Oops.
Have I ever mentioned that Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen is a bit of a smartass?
Then, there’s this: The only money he’s handing out is going to Iowa.
So Rick is betting two things. (1) That the popularity of money in politics is on the decline, and (2) The Republican primary will be decided in Iowa.
Oops, indeed.
