Texas HB 2 Ruled Unconstitutional!

The Houston Chronicle has the story right here.

AUSTIN – A federal judge struck down a key piece of Texas’s tough new abortion law Friday afternoon, just three days before its implementation was expected to force all but seven clinics in the state to close.

Greg Abbott is expected to request immediate relief from the 5th circuit. You know, unless they want to debate.

  1. “You know, unless they want to debate.”

his sister may not stand to profit as much as she was counting on.

Greg needs to hurry on over to his nearest TX university and obtain a medical degree and license, if he wants to practice medicine while being a moron.

The party of ‘small’ government sure has some tentacle issues. Will leave the “scope” thing for you ladies to smack him.

Our dog knows sit, stay, leave it and a whole lot more commands. Why can’t we teach the GOP to keep their silly little noses out of the doctor/patient relationship?

  4. The 5th Circuit Court of Texas is pretty much of an unknown to me. What is it like? In other words, what can we expect?

Maggie, It doesn’t really matter in the long run what the 5th Circuit says, the Supreme Court will decide this, probably next year. But the short answer to your question is that they will probably support the Texas law, not Texas women.

Meanwhile, I’m promoting the equality of abortion providers and gun dealers. If they can restrict abortion providers, we can restrict gun dealers. I believe all gun shops should be required to locate within 100 yards of a Women’s Clinic and operate under the same conditions, i.e. unnecessary medical procedures, admitting privileges at a local hospital, waiting periods, and an on-site surgery center for the wounded.

I’m crazy enough to think that makes sense.

  6. @Maggie,

Unfortunately, the 5th Circuit is majority Anti Choice. Several Bush appointees.

Abbott uses them, every chance he gets to over turn …. the over turn of these ridiculous laws that have been passed in Texas.

Then, we go on to the Supremes.
