Heads UP!

My local Democratic Party, where Bubba is the county chair, has the most amazing field director.

Sarah1Her name is Sarah Slamen and she is also a teevee star.   You can get to know her right here and even leave a comment after her appearance.

She will be on The Ed Show at 4:00 today on MSNBC to talk about this.

If you want to know about her future appearances, we put them on Facebook as soon as we know about it.  Go here and LIKE the Fort Bend County Democratic Party.  We’ll keep you up to date.

Since I’m way too old to be flirting with a pretty woman of Sarah’s age, I can only ask, “Young lady, do you have a mother?”

  2. Lorraine in Spring says:

I saw her on tv before & she was terrific! So glad she’s one of ours. She has a very bright future.

Go Sarah! Continue to make us proud, girl!!

  3. I don’t remember where I have heard her (no memory of a picture, just talk) but I *have* heard her. I remember wondering just where she is in Texas. And I was impressed – of that I’m certain!
    Go Sarah!

Ed Shultz comes on in my part of CO at 3 p.m. and it is 2:31 p.m. right now … I’m gonna watch!!

  5. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Exactly what Texas politics and politics in general needs, youth and enthusiasm. Leticia, Wendy and Sarah taking Texas BLUE!

    6
  6. She did great – very good mix of articulate and “plain-speak”. She did a lot toward making Texans not look so stupid to the rest of the nation. Guarantee that some in the national audience thought “Oh, they are not all like Rick Perry.”

  7. I’ve seen Sarah on MSNBC. She makes this old Texas gal proud. I see a bright future for women in Texas politics. It will make the state whole again.

Sarah, you and other young Texas women are just what we hoped your generation would become!

  8. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Remember when there were sane Republican women? OK, a few, but at least a few like Kay Bailey Hutchison, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins from Maine were able to govern and govern very capably.

Old white guys in government have pretty much screwed the pooch. Time for a change and let the ladies govern, but only if the ladies are from the Democratic Party.

The Republican women of the 21st century are a serious set back to the nation. Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Sue Lowden, Sharron Angle, whatever her name the witch woman from NJ, Joni the Pig Sticker, Jan Brewer, Liz Cheney; just to name a few. For real, YIKES, or should that be yuck?

Please, please, please invite Howard Dean to Texas to assist in a sound strategy to turn Texas BLUE. Better yet, go for BLUE and invite Governor Dean and Senator Warren to stand with Leticia and Wendy.

Want the votes of college students and we recent graduates, then give us some people with sound ideas and yes, one of our own like Sarah Slamen. Three generations, imagine that, all with the spunk and vision to move us forward.

I watched Sarah Slamen and she is powerful and articulate and she means business!! I was/am totally impressed by this young lady!!

  10. She was very impressive this afternoon–very plain speaking and appearing credible. Young people like this are the bedrock of the future, and I am heartened when I hear them speak with passion and knowledge. Unfortunately, most of the ones that have the floor don’t have this self-assured manner, so one gets the impression young people don’t care about issues. Wish there were more like her…

  11. Sarah did a great job

  12. TexasEllen says:

I want to support any campaign that Sarah wants to take on. She is a young woman that is going to do us proud for years.

  13. Gramiam says:

Sarah was just wonderful. No wonder you are proud to claim her for the Fort Bend Democrats!

  14. I saw her on the Ed Show. She said something that has really stuck with me. Paraphraising what she said:

“Young people don’t care about skin color, or people’s life choices, what we care about is getting a decent job so we can pay back our student loans”.

Then came the vote in Congress to lower the interest rate on student loans, which was killed by Republicans. Her statement should be part of all Democratic platforms running for office in Texas. The clip of her from Ed’s show should be included in their ads.

    Go Sarah Go!
