Hey, Yankees!
They told us that we might get snow on Thursday night. The last time we had a big snow here – 3 inches on the ground – was 1973. The entire town closed down.
Anyway, they took it back today and said it *might* get to 31 degrees. And it *might* even rain.
So, let us know where you are and how you’re doing. If you send pictures, I’ll post them.
Stay warm.
Uh oh, furnace on the fritz and it’s 8 degrees out. Repairman coming.
1It’s interesting just to see where you folks live. Here in Cowtown, aka Foat Wurth, we are expecting a bout of stockshow weather, raw and cold.
2It rained and dropped down into the 70’s.
3We all broke out the fleece to keep warm.
Aloha
Central Oklahoma. Predicted low tonight in the teens and high tomorrow in 20’s. I was asked at church tonight if I was ready for the cold tomorrow (in 40’s today). I replied that I’m ready for spring! At least it’s supposed to warm up here on the weekend.
4NYC’s east village. Yesterday, we got 10″ of snow. Today, we were back in the deep freeze. I had to go out, and dressed in silk (long underwear, sock liners, glove liners, head scarf), merino wool and cashmere, qiviut smoke ring covering my head and entire face except my eyes, big vintage fur coat, shearling-lined hiking boots, cashmere gloves, and fur felt hat. I was comfortable, others were not.
5I heard Texas is due for ice storms. Be freaking CAREFUL!!!
6NW NJ here. 1 degree with a -14 chill factor this am
7Old Fart, Texas is crowded with rednecks in pickups who drive fast until they reach an ice covered overpass and then slam on the brakes. Is that careful enough for you? It does go along way to explaining how some Texas politicians get elected.
8Uncle Dave,
That’s not the method I would use to get rid of gas guzzling overcompensations, but it’ll do :-/
9When I went to bed last night it was a MINUS 9 deg F (-9), so cold even the cat won’t go out and his litter box is about full.
10It’s sunny and bright and has warmed up to about 5 deg today (Thurs 23rd). We’ve had some really cold weather and I’m not even going to get into this wind chill stuff.
From Sacramento, CA, where it’s too d— dry (no measureable precipitation since Dec, 7, 2013). Weather has been frosty in the mornings and warming to mid-60s by afternoon.
