Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Kool! Go Wendy, go BLUE Texas. She is so perfect, invest in children and their education, and the future will be better for all.
Hoping Texas starts a trend and more future thinking ladies lead the nation.
1WHOOOOP!!!!
2Viva Wendy!
3Like the little girl in the Hamburger Helper commercial, “And I helped.”
4This is monumental! Absolutely fantastic news. There is hope after all.
5Sure there’s hope! Rah rah! Onward and upward! Remember the Budget. Oops, I was supposed to say the Alamo. Now we need a reminder of where to send donations for Letitia van de Putte, please, Juanita Jean. Does Thelma run the cash register?
6Marge – here you go: http://www.leticiavandeputte.com/
7Just sent a little more $ from PA.
8Got Chairman Hinojosa’s email right before I saw this. He is doing an excellent job with his email blasts. Belatedly letting you know I got the honorary member of the TX Democratic party letter and membership card. What a great idea. Whoever did that needs a raise!
As Mollie Ivins would say, “Good on her!” We sure need more women in office.
9I am so happy about this. Wendy is awesome. I have donated and will again.
10Goooooo Wendy and Leticia!!!! But I just have to say, As great as it is that all this money is being raised, This idea that somehow the actual Election is determined by who collects the most money is soo antithetical to what Democracy should be is so disheartening – I know, it’s the reality of the world we live in, but how many times have we seen money raised and the votes NOT cast or elections stolen by Dieboldt et al? Money is a nec evil, but let’s be mindful of thinking that mo’ money means mo’ votes….I would hate to think someone doesn’t Vote because they think Wendy has it in the bag cause she raised more money…..Just sayin
11A few more statistics for y’all. The money came from all 254 Texas counties, including King County where only 5 people voted for Obama and Loving County where 9 people voted for Obama. 70% of the money came from Texas.
And I don’t think the money is the only determining factor. There just seems to be a lot of excitement and organizing happening in this election. And that is big news as well. So if you live in Texas, please VOLUNTEER. It’s going to be an exciting election season. Don’t miss out on being part of it.
12Send some money each month is as much and the least I can do–you go Wendy Davis, for all of us “poor” women, never poor in spirit and the true backbone of this country–no wonder they want us deprived of our voices and in the kitchen!
13It makes me feel good that I’ve sent two contributions to Wendy and plan on making another real soon. She needs the help of all thinking women and the men who love them.
14Nice work, Team Wendy!
15Wendy got my first contribution for 2014 elections! I sure do hope that Texans will get out and vote for her – just the women could change the color to blue 🙂
