Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
If you didn’t see last night’s Jon Stewart “The Daily Show”, he shows another example of the faux outrage at Fox & Idiots. If you have Hulu, you can watch it there.
1Jon Stewart did a perfect segment lampooning Bill-O and the Flux Nuts last night. “Burn Notice – Bill O’Reilly, Marijuana & Texting”

Alcohol good, pot bad. Yeah, ok Bill, guns and alcohol, guns and automobiles, what are the accident statistics?
2In the case of alcohol and other drugs it is far more likely we will make progress if we treat these addictions as medical problems, not legal ones. If the addiction leads to criminal behavior then that’s legal, but simple addiction is not.
3The WeepingCheeto is going to think you are picking on him
4Maybe he’ll just stagger next door to the payday loan place and borrow money using his house as collateral and spend it all on booze and then we get to pick up the pieces.
Speaking of picking, pick on Gallego and Castro re: the Trans Pacific Partnership. 202 225 3121. Tell THOSE TWO that WE DON’T WANT A FAST TRACK VOTE ON THE TPP. (TPP always makes me think of toilet paper, I don’t know why.) If it is fast-tracked, the legislators will get that vote and no more and it will be THE LAW for the USA.

The war on drugs was really only against other people’s drugs.
6LynnN and Ralph Wiggam, both correct. We need to stop the two tier system of rehab for whites & wealthy and prison for blacks & poor. Rehab for all, which could be done with expanded medicare or universal health care.
7Somehow O’Reilly tried to link the use of pot with texting, calling the latter an addiction.
8(As in “My thumbs can’t stop twitching cause I’m addicted to texting.”)
His expert guest tried to call him on that, but Uncle Bill just went to some other loudmouth who spewed the same lunacy. Once again, he doesn’t let facts get in the way.
PKM at least five states have higher rates of deaths by guns than by auto accidents. Alaska is one. I posted this awhile back.
9e platypus onion, add alcohol to those statistics and we know the outcome would be far worse in each category. Would challenge Bill-of-Lies to find as many registered gun owners who smoke pot, compared to the number of beer guzzling gun totes. Would also posit that a pot smoker looking for the car keys would be distracted by a bag of chips, sit down on the couch and forget all about the car keys.
My choice, a neighbor smoking a little weed over a drunk cleaning a gun. Maybe we can convince them to give up the guns in exchange for a baggie of pot.
10Unless pot has changed considerably since I wuz young and dumb, side effects were insatiable munchies, not aggression. Never once remembered being able to do anything but laugh when stoned. Alcohol ALWAYS made me mad at someone.
11Well, pot does make you feel sexy. I got stoned and immediately tried to take my pants off. Over my head.
12doesn’t anyone remember the film”reefer madness” ??
