Honey, Be Nice, This Poor Man Doesn’t Know Where He Is
Y’all, I need to get to some truth here and quit coyoting around the rim of the canyon.
East Texas Congressman Steve Stockman is truly insane.
Tom DeLay is evil. Ted Cruz would sell his grandmother for attention. Louie Gohmert is a fox who knows what his constituents want to hear. Joe Barton is bought and paid for. Randy Neugebauer is whore. Rick Perry is just dumber than bean dip. Greg Abbott is going straight to hell.
But Steve Stockman is delusional. It’s just a matter of time before he does something that is going to get banner headlines. I mean, look at those eyes. Would you want those eyes looking at you? No, you would not. It would creep you out. And this man carries a gun.
Rep. Steve Stockman is offering free breakfast in exchange for pro-gun conversation. On Thursday, he invited Capitol Hill staffers to join a discussion being by the Gun Owners of America entitled, “The Fallacy of Gun-Free School Zones.”
Stockman, R-Friendswood, posted on his website about the event underneath the headline, “Grab free donuts and coffee before Obama grabs your gun!”
The Houston Chronicle is doing a big investigation around where Stockman gets his money and how he reports it. On the surface it appears that he just makes up companies he owns and claims he has money they make but only sometimes. The Chronicle’s story on Sunday completely detailed the financial mess around Stockman, including proof of everything. Stockman’s only reply: the writer of the column is liberal.
The Chronicle’s story is behind closed doors to non-subscribers. But, the Huffington Post picked up some of it.
Stockman doesn’t act crazy – he is crazy. The last time he got booted out of congress, he ended up homeless and eating out of trash cans. Being a congressman is the only way he can make money and appear to be sane – you know, in comparison.
I’m tellin’ ya, he’s a creepy headline just waiting to happen.
Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
All of the GOP clowns you named worry me, but the notion that they were elected, and re-elected, is frightening and depressing.
1I used to write this kind of thinking off as the inevitable result of generations of inbreeding, but surely this one theory could not account for the largesse of crazy being seen in Texas right now.
2To be fair, RP, it’s a stretch to say that Stockman has ever been re-elected to anything. He was a one-termer almost twenty years ago, and had to wait all those years until a new district was created (no incumbent!) where he could dupe a whole new electorate.
3Worry about Harry Reid. He took wingnuts filibuster and ate their lunch doing it.
4To elect a bozo like Stockman doesn’t just take low-information or zero-information voters. It requires negative-information voters, voters who believe in the GOP when they tell them that s*** is actually shinola and that librulz are responsible for all the problems the GOP causes. In other words, conservasheep.
5Doesn’t the House have standards of conduct rules? I didn’t mean this to be a dumb question, just a concern for reasonableness among unreasonable people.
6Isn’t he the one whose campaign folks live in a warehouse or something?
7Bud asks, “doesn’t the House have standards of conduct rules?”
Yes, they do. Rep. Mike Conaway (R) from Odessa’s gonna get right on that, I’m sure.
8Well, I am wondering about the Federal Election Commission. Are they going to investigate and do anything about this tool?
9Yes. The House does have behavior standards. I’ve seen a copy!!! With my own two little human eyes. But just remember when somebody refers to something as a standard it ain’t necessarily a rule. Language is funny like that.
10Ain’t standards the sort of thing you say to your kids: “Honey, PLEASE remember to not slobber when you kiss your Great Aunt Ophelia? It would really make me happy.” Rules is when you say, “I will beat the tar out of you if you slobber on your great aunt, and besides you won’t ever use a computer again in this lifetime.”
11I’m quoting Brains and Eggs here:
Even if he hadn’t ever represented much of the newly-drawn 36th Congressional District — and even granting that this is, you know, the Appalachia of the Lone Star State — they knew what they were getting.
The Appalachia of the Lone Star State… and I always thought that was Louie’s district.
PDiddie also came up with this chart, and if you can figure out what this guy does with his money, and where it comes from…. you are a better woman than I am.

Flim Flam comes to mind…
12Friendswood-that explains Stockman’s round mouth, the one he didn’t get from eating square meals.
13If you go to the Huff Po story that JJ linked, you’ll find a link at the very end that takes you to the Chron’s story. After reading it, there’s no way I would believe that Stockman is doing anything legal.
14When you want to read a Chronicle article that’s behind that subscription wall, all you need to do is highlight and copy the words that are hyphenated, paste them into the address bar and press enter. It’ll usually be the first link on google. Just a little trick I somehow stumbled on. Not sure how long they’ll let that go on.
15I hope that when reaching for that free cup of coffee they don’t accidentally come up with a gun instead. Could be messy.
16I have this crazy street person representing me in Congress. In my Texas suburb my last GOP congressman, Olson, was bad but an intelligent panderer working against my interests. He was so constantly working against my interests I voted for the 33% crazy LaRouche follower instead. My girlfriend has the rural big-mouth crazy GOP Congressperson Gohmert but at least I think he can hold a job. Stockman is a street person who wants to talk to you about Obama and the UN comin’ to grab his guns.
17Please don’t blame Friendswood for Stockman! I live here and I can’t find anybody that says they voted for him, even the republicans that I know. It’s either the other people they lumped in with us or something is fishy. 15 years here and never seen the guy at any event. Seriously, who really is the one pulling his strings?
