We Know You’re Busy, But ….

November 25, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I am still overwhelmed that so many of you were so generous in funding the special project for state of the art online tools that my buddy Glen Maxey is getting off the ground.

The Maxey Happy Dance

The Maxey Happy Dance

Due to your generosity, we have been able to add even more to this super program.

So, I’m back to ask for your help again.  Not money this time.  Time this time.  We need some of your time.

If you donated, we need your help beta-testing this program before we go live.  So, sometime before the end of the year or in early January, you will get an email from Glen with instructions on how to test the program so we can work out the kinks.  Not the kinkies – we let Glen keep the kinkies.  Just the technical kinks.

We want this sucker to work like a fifty dollar hammer on a greased nail when it debuts.

If you don’t have time, no sweat.  If you do, please be looking for the email from Glen next month. If you can give it five minutes or five hours, we will be eternally grateful.

And, again, thank you for blowing my socks off with your hard earned money.  I can promise you personally that it is being spent frugally and wisely.

I’ll let you know when there’s another grassroots project that needs your help.

Be social and share!

  1. Let me step up and say that I can do this, no problemo, unless out of state is a glitch.

    1
  2. Thanks for letting us see the results.

  3. fierywoman says:

Happy to oblige from the Pac NW!

    3
  4. I’m financially unable to contribute, so I didn’t make a donation. But I am a registered Democrat in New York City. Our voting records are public, so you can look that up if you want to. I can email you my real name and address. So, if you need a Dem to spend some time online testing your tools, I’d be happy to donate time instead of money. Time I have plenty of, money not so much.

    4
  5. I’m a perfect candidate ’cause I know squat about computers. If I can understand and work it, anyone can.

    5
  6. Marge Wood says:

I prolly can find some computer geekish types to do the test run. You prolly don’t want me to test it.

    6
  7. Juanita Jean says:

Actually, we DO want people to beta test it who know very little about computers and can tell us where our instructions are bad or a button doesn’t work. If you can get here, you know enough to really help.

Out of state is fine – we just want you to find what we missed.

Ms. J., at this point we have to limit it to donors but there will be other things we can use your help on. Texas is big and we have work to do!

  8. Austinhatlady says:

I’m in! Consider myself rather proficient at using the computer, but my 13-year-old “almost” god-daughter thinks otherwise. Tell Glen I’ll be working the phone bank again for Celia Israel’s runoff in House District 50; remind him that I was the non-young lady one wearing the hat while on the phone at Celia’s house.

    8
  9. TexasEllen says:

Of course I’m in. I am too arthritic to block walk anymore, but my computer is at your service. What Operating Systems do we need to test this on?

    9
  10. SomedayGirl says:

    Sure, I’ll help.

    10
  11. Marge Wood says:

I love this group. Wondrous folks.

    11
  12. Jan Kimmons says:

Count me in. I’m very computer literate – unless you ask my daughter, who bails me out every time I screw something up!

    12
  13. @JJ — Okay, I totally understand that you only want donors to test it out. Not a problem. I’m sorry I couldn’t contribute, but if my fortunes change, I’ll donate to the next project. And if you do need non-donors for anything in the meanwhile, just let me know.

    13
  14. Be happy to test it. If you need any database help ( Sql Server or Oracle 10/11g), I’ll be glad to help out with that as well.

    14
  15. Marge Wood says:

I’ll help if you get desperate, if I’m not wrestling with getting my SECRET BUZZARD SOCIETY novel published.

    15
  16. Marge Wood says:

Oh, recipe time. I’m going to go make brownies, the really old recipe from the Hershey’s cocoa cookbook. My secret ingredient is whole wheat flour and orange extract, and of course, pecans. Cook a little cooler if you use whole wheat flour. What’s your secret ingredient? I double the recipe to take to Democratic party events.

    16
  17. Ralph Wiggam says:

I am very good at getting frustrated and cussing at my computer. I’ll clean up my language and lend a hand.

And thanks to all the folks who put this together. I can’t say that enough, thanks.

    17
  18. Happy to help from BLUE California. Can use tablet and phone as well if needed.

    18
  19. I don’t know squat about computers other than how to turn them on and of, but I’ll be happy to help.

    19
  20. Susan (the Neon Nurse) Crites says:

I’ve used the VAN in Colorado, so if you want someone with that perspective, give me a holler!

    20
  21. Is Glen actually dancing on a table in that photo? Things are getting really weird if he is doing that. I have seen that man get pretty excited about several issues, but never to the point of getting up on a table. I expect rivers to run backwards and pigs fly any minute now.

    21
  22. I’d be very glad to help out by Beta testing

    22
  23. Would you ask him to put some little clue in the subject line that this is the project that started through you? I might see it, not recall who he is, and delete it before it ever gets read. For sure I’m glad to help. I just might need a little memory jog.

    23
  24. Beta testing? Good luck with that. Capitol Hill decided to Beta test its filing process for lobbying reports and dumped all that on anyone who had an IMAC.

    24
  25. Dianne in PA says:

Happy to help! I use PA’s VAN fairly well–unless you ask my pollster. Pretty much everybody is a moron upside him, since he’s never off by more than .1%, but I can cut a walk list.

    25
  26. I’d be happy to do it if people from foreign states count.
