Well, It Would Keep the Circus in Town a Week Longer
With a deal on the debt ceiling being dangerously close to happening, what will the Tea Partiers in Washington, DeeCee do with all that free time?
The answer, of course, comes from the Texas delegation.
Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, received 435 copies of WND reporter Aaron Klein’s book “Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama From Office” and planned to distribute a copy to every member of the House.
Stockman told WND he believes the book has information every member of Congress should know, and he insists discussing impeachment should not be forbidden.
“Enforcing the Constitution and preserving limitations on executive authority aren’t just mainstream, they’re the law,” Stockman said.
Yeah, impeaching President Obama – that’s mainstream.
The GOP approval rating is just one crazy speech away from being in the single digits. GO STOCKMAN!
Thanks to Kyle for the heads up.
Let us prostrate ourselves on the ground and pray for relief from insanity.
1Oh Lord, Crazy Cruz is yammering away on MSNBC right now … still railing against Obamacare …
Please, make him shut the hell UP!!!
2Wonder if the man has heard the word, sedition?
I wonder if he understands what it means?
3You know I had to ask that last question!
(1) World Nut Daily does books?
(2) Steve Stockman can read?
(3) Somebody will explain what constitutes an “Impeachable Offense” I’m sure. Written in Crayon so he can magnet it to his fridge.
Probably pushed the book up to 1,790,000 on Amazon best seller list.
4They didn’t learn a thing from when they impeached Clinton, who went on to win a second term AFTER the impeachment.
A huge waste of our money, along with the shutdown, the sequester and the 6,783 times they have tried to repeal the ACA. And for Texans, the twenty zillion times Greg Abbot has tried to sue the federal government. We are the ones financing this clown show.
5@ Miemaw – the biggest offence was Being Black While President.
6I am so glad that my district showed Stockman the door after one term, back in ’96. Dude had to wait until a whole new district opened up to run again.
7@Cheryl, Clinton was impeached in his second term.
8@Cheryl, oh goody a new internet acronym BBWP!
Ya’ learn something new everah day.
9Why Republicans (especially Texas Republicans) hate healthcare for people who aren’t rich. Brad DeLong recalls a conversation he had in 1993.

10The polls lately have shown that the Dems might have a shot at taking the House. Unfortunately, the election is over a year away and voters tend to forget and move on.
However, I have faith in the Tea Party. Win or lose, they only know to double-down. The main difference is that they get uglier if they lose.
There is a good chance they will continue this craziness through 2014. The debt ceiling will need to be raised at least once next year and I’m sure they will put on a bravado performance.
11Vote NO on Proposition 6, if you live in a rural area in Texas and know the plan is to take the water from rural areas and pipe it to urban areas.
12Got to hand it to the Teapartiers, they are recycling. Yep, an old failed strategy from the 90’s being recycled again. I suspect spelling is not their only deficiency.
Also, think Obama learned his lesson about how he should have been acting all along, instead of trying to appease those nuts? I surely hope so.
13Absolutely a waste of time and our money.
14They can’t govern so they ant-govern.
Sorry, should have been anti-govern.
15Not a bit like the Ant Christ.
@LynnN – Rest assured the voters won’t forget, because the Republicans and Tea Farty extremists will do the job of reminding them! Today’s pending crisis legislation only kicks the can down the road for government funding and the debt ceiling until early next year – a few months closer to the election! So once again we can go down to the wire and then Congress can pass another extension until about May … and then another … to August or September! How’s that for reminders?!
As for the Republicans and the Tea Farty – today I’m looking forward to using a word that’s been rolling around in my mind for weeks – capitulation! They pursued the greatest strategic blunder since Napoleon marched on Moscow, and their demands have dropped like Napoleon’s troops died – starving and cold – retreating in the bitter winter of the American public’s discontent.
Capitulation. As they showed no grace in their irrational opposition, they deserve no grace in their defeat.
16Please, Oh Please, give us an impeachment trial! With any luck they will coordinate it with the next government shutdown for a spectacular double feature.
17I’m praying for Impeachment! These tools haven’t taken a look at how President Clinton’s approval numbers boomeranged after he was impeached.
I’m praying for anything these idiots do to continue to drive the approval of the GOP numbers below 0. Keep it up til next summer please? Anything to drive Dems to the polls in a mid term election can only be good!
18Impeachment require specific charges that must be justified by law, not just what the Tee-Tee Potty doesn’t like. Let them try to be specific and within the law and see what they can come up with. Likely nothing.
19Well, I look at it this way. When they’re printing up books with their version of the truth, only to be read by people who can’t spell (here’s lookin’ at you Antchrist), at least they’re taking a breather from burning copies of To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye, Korans…
20How Obamacare is unconstitutional – what Supreme Court?
Benghaaaaaaazi!
Amnesty!
Gunrunning (personally)
Solyndraaaaaa!
Muslim Brotherhood
Out October 29th by & Christmas it will be 1c ‘used like new’ although I can’t imagine what you would do with it, would clog the septic
21Here is a good analysis as to how an impeachment attempt should backfire on the tea party http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/ten-miles-square/2013/10/post047213.php
Even if they didn’t have that psychological phenomenon in their favor, the Democrats would have two huge advantages in convincing the public that an Obama impeachment case was really about the Tea Party rather than the President: Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. That’s as politically talented a pair as exists in the U.S. today, and it’s hard to think of anyone in the House of Representatives who could take them on and successfully frame an impeachment debate in the Tea Party’s preferred fashion.
Presidential impeachment would thus, like everything else the Tea Party is currently doing, be popular in their echo chamber but help convince the rest of the country that they are a dangerous and irresponsible force in U.S. politics. It’s not therefore something that Obama should fear. Indeed, he might even welcome it.
22Indeed. Yesterday I read somewhere that McCain said we should keep the rhetoric down because it would be piling on the Repigs. I say: PILE ON. They certainly deserve it as well as being laughed at mocked and I honestly believe AG Holder should charge the entire bunch with Seditious Conspiracy and get indictments. They have committed real crimes against America and the citizens and should be punished. 20 years is the sentence, but I would settle for them giving up their positions, pensions, perks, benefits and never holding public office again.
23I clicked on the darned link…. and after calling everybody on there “nuts”. I finally figured out where I was. Geesh.
These people make the squirrels in my back yard…. look intellectual.
24How are you going to keep the K. brothers from promoting more nut cases into school boards, city and county governments, jurisdictions, legislatures and Congress?
25Speaking of John McCain. I don’t know if this is an accurate quote or not; didn’t research it. But if he *didn’t* say it, he should have. Truthy-true-true!!
“We can’t get much lower in the polls. We’re down to blood relatives and paid staffers.”
26laughing. I love that, Kay C.
27He’s crying again.

28What’s WND? Wing Nut Delirium?
Okay, now I’ll click on the link and read the comments and much to my disappointment find out that’s not the answer.
29I’m sure that the other members of the House of Representatives were grateful for the gesture. After all, with the shutdown going on, there were no custodians to replace all the toilet paper (the ONLY useful TP in Washington) in the Congressional Crappers.
At 334 pages that’s 167 individual single-ply sheets. Unfortunately, they are already full of ….
30maryelle @14
“They can’t govern so they ant-govern.”
I’m getting the giggles all over again. No need to correct anything here.
31@Kay, heard the same thing. He’s getting his sense of humor back.
32Information from a World Nut Daily reporter — what could possibly go wrong?
(Yeah, I know I’m stereotyping, but Lawd a-mercy if you spend your life in the pigpen then don’t fault folks for expecting you to smell.)
33Ant govern covers it for me!
34As for McCain’s quote/not quote–good on ’em for telling the truth!
Methinks this band of cuckoos crashed their hijacked clown car through the cuckoo’s nest. If they weren’t such a detriment to the Nation, this would be hysterical. Their moral compasses have loose screws.
35This comment on the article Kyle linked to above doesn’t appear to be from a RWNJ
“I’m assuming that if impeached, Obama would temporarily abandon his office during the trial and perhaps the period before his trial.”
and I can’t help wondering if that is what the Impeachment movement hopes for.
It is also worth remembering that the multi-year ordeal both the Clintons were put through left them with over $11M in legal bills
http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2000-08-25/news/0008240963_1_legal-bills-legal-payments-travel-office-firings
36The Tea Party will regret this fiasco; there are 800,000 furloughed federal employees who will have long memories.
37For the finest comment on the Republican House, go to YouTube, Martin Bashir, october 16. Go to his closing remarks. He quotes Thomas Cromwell’s address to a closing parliment, I believe in 1653. Absolutely delicious and so very fitting.
38If they were to impeach Obama and remove him from office, Joe Biden would be president. How would the RWNJs see this as a big step forward…?
Oh, yeah– Joe’s white.
39So Stockman is assuming that Repub House members can read?
40OMG. Was watching teevee last night before hitting the hay and someone brought on a video of Ted Cruz’s head superimposed on Miley Cyrus’s pretty much naked body as she danced to her new song, “Wrecking Ball.” I thought someone had hit the head upon the nail, it was that pointedly good. But when I went to bed, I.had.nightmares!
41@Maggie … when I saw that business of Teddie on the wrecking ball … I absolutely burst out laughing!!! OMG OMG It was horrible and I loved it!! And the rest of the video of Teddie’s head on Miley’s bra & panty clad body … a total riot!
So glad all this is over for the next couple of months or so!!
42My husband and I are talking about moving back to Texas (we both went to UTSA) just so we can vote against Rafael son of Rafael. Maybe we can convince daughter and son-in-law to come, too. That would be four more Democrats. 🙂
Who is the Rep for San Antonio?
43@Eykis: I agree. It is time for the normal folk to dogpile these Tea Party nutballs and the opportunists they have elected. Seems to me that you now have to live like an extremist because these T-party Taliban test for every crack in normal at every level – cities, school boards, county commissions, etc etc ad nauseaum – in order to run for that office and thereby have a spot from which to spew their vitriol.
