But Once They Got To Know Him …

October 10, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

There’s some happy news tonight

Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) favorability rating has collapsed as the public has become more familiar with him, according to a Gallup survey released on Thursday.

The survey found that 26 percent have a favorable view of the Texas Republican, against 36 percent unfavorable.

Yeah, he’s a great guy until he opens his smirking mouth.

Tedcruz_Terrorist_2I suspect that the American people are just a little tired of the Canadian man who will not shut up about Obamacare.

He is perfectly willing to destroy the United States to  get his face on the front of a news magazine.

He pretty much pulled the plug on tranquility.   Being all smoke and no fire kinda took the sparkle off his halo and it will be a cold day in hell before even another Republican trusts him.  And, in my opinion, that’s about a decade too soon.

It was kinda fun to see him flame out so fast!

He’s gone, Darlin’, but he won’t be forgotten.

Thanks to John for the cool graphic.

  1. We should ship him to Cuba…that’s really where he belongs…I don’t think the Canadians would take him…we can do it under the so-called Patriot act (riot is what comes to mind) –if they want to the government can drop you anywhere in the world with no papers, or at least that was what was being bandied about in the “you’re either for us or against us” terror years–I can’t remember if he gave up his Canadian passport…he’s back to being a “nobody that you’d want to know” tough after all the big dogs were licking him..couldn’t happen to a huger ego. Hopefully, all the t-baggers will look at the idiocy they have been supporting…but you can’t fix stupid…sigh…

  2. You forgot to mention, the only person in the survey whose favorability numbers went up is Nancy Pelosi. Would love to see her as the Speaker of the House again.

    2
  3. Love that graphic. Can we stick a fork in him? Is he really done?

  4. Ralph Wiggam says:

There is a rather crude phrase I learned in the oilfield that perfectly describes the career path of Ted Cruz. “That boy pooped and fell back in it.”

    4
  5. Ralph, what a truly colorful way of saying he was over-exposed and hit his tipping point!

    5
  6. SomedayGirl says:

The AP has him at 16% favorable. 7% very, 9% somewhat.

The only person with better favorables than Obama is his wife.

More interesting to me is the Tea Party support on page 22. Those numbers have plunged from a not very impressive 31% in January 2011 to a whopping 17% now. Why are they being allowed to hijack a political party and dominate the national conversation?

  7. VeeGee in VT says:

Well, I do hope y’all are right, but Cruz is an oily, devious varmint. I will be surprised if he doesn’t resurrect himself sooner than later.

If it seems to good to be true it probably is!! 🙁

    8
  9. Let’s see him condemned to mouthing off on right-wing talk shows along with Palin and Bachmann, preaching to the RWNJ choir.

  10. e platypus onion says:

He wasn’t born in America so there is no allegiance owed her by the Canadian by way of Cuba. Be interesting to hear him lie his way out of the mess he created. Wonder who gets the blame? Looks like he is wearing Yasser Arafat’s war bonnet that he shaped to look like Palestine, just not the one in Texas.

  11. Elizabeth says:

Unfortunately, the bad eggs bob up to the top of the water again and again until you take them out and drop them in the trash. Cruz is still in office and will be for ogodthatstoomany years still. Watch out for him. Keep stickin’ that fork in him, and best of all make sure he’s not re-elected.

    11
  12. How do you impeach a Senator?

    12
  13. Elizabeth, the way I heard is something like this: the Republican party is like an outhouse– the big chunks rise to the top.

    13
  14. Marion (formerly known as MM) says:

Kudos to John for the graphic!

  15. Brian Meehan says:

I saw him on “Crossfire” (probably the only one, boy that show sucks) , and I swear, he was wearing mascara! WTH?

    The Crazification Factor

    Still germane:
Obama vs. Alan Keyes. Keyes was from out of state, so you can eliminate any established political base; both candidates were black, so you can factor out racism; and Keyes was plainly, obviously, completely crazy. Batshit crazy. Head-trauma crazy. But 27% of the population of Illinois voted for him. They put party identification, personal prejudice, whatever ahead of rational judgement. Hell, even like 5% of Democrats voted for him. That’s crazy behaviour. I think you have to assume a 27% Crazification Factor in any population.

The GOP’s approval rating at the moment? 28%. Ted’s is 26%, WOW! By my calculations, that indicates he is even loosing the crazy vote!

WHAT DOESN’T WORK IN AMERICAN POLITICS: Speak loudly & carry a Canadian club.

    17
  18. But, and I don’t mean to be a spoilsport here, didn’t we all say that about Sarah Palin? I thought after the election (in 2008!) I could stop hyperventilating with rage every time I heard her screechy, idiotic voice. But she just kept popping up. And now, she’s on her way to NJ to campaign for some other goofball (sorry, that was rude wasn’t it?).
I don’t know about Ted Cruz. He seems slippery like an eel and wily like a fox. And I mean absolutely NO disrespect to either of those members of the animal kingdom.

    18
  19. Seriously, though. Remember how to get rid of vampires?

    19
  20. TexasEllen says:

Like Sarah, Carnival Cruz will remind everyone of the Republican party every time he appears in public. The Republican party would probably prefer the ebola virus.

    20
  21. UmptyDump says:

TexasEllen nailed it. Cruz not only screwed up the Congress with his antics, but gained national notoriety for it among the general public that was not highly aware of him beforehand. He’s toxic. The Republican centrists must be fearful of what stunt he’ll try next. Doubtless it will reflect negatively on them.

    21
  22. e platypus onion says:

@ Cindy D- congressweasels and senators are not impeachable. They are removed by votes of whichever body they belong to. Article 1 Section 5,clause 2- I believe.

    22
  23. Aggieland liz says:

…recall, anyone? Can we DO that here?!

    23
  24. Sad to say, but there seems to be no way to recall in Texas.

I really enjoy conspiracy paranoia. This one’s homemade:
Rafael and Papa are Castro’s revenge and are therefore not loyal Americans, do can they be deported as undesirable aliens?
    Just askin’.

    24
  25. So not only is Rafael Jr all hat and no cattle, but he ain’t much of a hat either.

    25
  26. e platypus onion says:

Know what I like about Cruz? You know what I rilly like about Cruz? Not a god d%^n thing!

  27. Wa Skeptic says:

Just reading his opinion of birth control. He’s wrong (of course) because HE’S definitely the perfect birth control. No intelligent woman would let him get within spitting distance.

    27
  28. Are there any Texas polls on him?

    28
  29. Forbes, not known for it’s left wing slant, wrote an excoriating Op-Ed piece on Oct 4th entitled:

Ted Cruz’s Shameful Betrayal Of Texas

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2013/10/04/ted-cruzs-shameful-betrayal-of-texas/

    Last two paragraphs:
“It is too bad Cruz could not be honest with his home state voters just as it is too bad that it will be a very long time until Texans can vote to replace him with a senator that actually gives a damn about Texas.

But then, does this really come as a shock given everything we’ve come to see about what is truly in Senator Ted Cruz’s heart?”

    Article had a link to Texas poll February 14 – 24th 2013

  30. I don’t think we should ship Cruz to Cuba.

I think we should ship him halfway to Cuba.
