At the Very Least, Someone Should Sink His Yacht
Texas Republican Congressman Randy Neugebauer (pronounced buht-heeead) added to his resume of Let Them Eat Cake yesterday by attempting to humiliate a United Damn States of America park ranger in front of people who were on furlough from their jobs.
Need I remind you that Randy, who lives in a desert in west Texas, spent his campaign contributions from big pharmacy and big business on a stinkin’ yacht. He has Dyess Air Force base in his district, where airmen with families generally qualify for food stamps and Randy is tooting around on a yacht in the damn desert. Okay, he keeps his yacht in Washington, Dee Cee, but it beats the hell outta me how that is a campaign expense or how he justifies it at home.
Now, I’m gonna stop here and tell you something. God gave Randy a pointy head. I’m serious. His head comes to a little pointy thing, reminding me of a Dairy Queen ice cream cone. That doesn’t have much to do with this story, but I thought you should know why he stays off camera as much as possible. Well, that, and he drools. Okay, he really doesn’t drool. I just made that up. But, it’s flat amazing that he doesn’t. If he could figure out why he doesn’t drool, he could market that stuff over at the bowling alley and he’d be really rich. I’m talking Oprah Winfrey rich.
Anyway, everybody was pretty upset about this old fartin’ codger trying to shame a female park ranger for not doing his job. Yeah, HIS job. She wasn’t doing Randy’s job for him and she should be ashamed. And then he told everybody to get off his lawn damn when they tried to stop him from winning the Somebody Please Stop Me Because I’m Not Driving My Brain Anymore Award.
Well, the good folks over at CREW did more than just get upset. They did something.
Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House.
I know. It’s hard to believe that he hasn’t been be brought up before on “conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House.” Of course, Tom DeLay and Louie Gohmert lowered the standard on that pretty good.
“Rep. Neugebauer’s demeaning treatment of the ranger reinforces the commonly held belief that members of Congress are arrogant and have an over-inflated sense of superiority,” continued [CREW Executive Director Melanie] Sloan. “The House cannot permit its members to berate federal employees for a government shutdown for which Congress is responsible. Rep. Neugebauer needs to be held accountable for his reprehensible conduct.”
At the very least, he should have to borrow and wear Ted Cruz’s DUNCE hat for a day or two.
Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up and the $5 Chicken Fried Steak lunch special.
Well, don’t bother to call his offices as he has conveniently closed them to public calling. His field office in Abilene gets shunted to some AT&T call box. The message box in DC is full, heh-heh. I hope he gets and earful rather than deleting all the messages as I suspect he will.
My congresscritter is still accepting calls because he hasn’t stuck his head out far enough in public to warrant derision. However, on facebook, his five or more daily postings finally got me mad enough to comment. As much as he professes wanting to hear from his constituents and how he follows their wishes, he doesn’t want to hear from me. I have now been banned from commenting on his facebook page after his office claimed that I made comments concerning ‘campaign’ issues. Nuts to that, all I said was that he worshiped money more than the God he says he follows.
1Rep. Neugebauer’s conduct violates House Rule 23, which requires all members of the House to conduct themselves “at all times in a manner that reflects creditably on the House.”
Hmm…it sounds to me that the House Tea-Party Caucus as a whole violate House Rule 23 just about everytime they are caught on camera. Because as so many point out, their behaviors would get them in time-outs in Kindergarden.
2Noogerbooger looked long and hard and finally found the one person he could probably whip(if the rest of Congress held her arms). I noticed he didn’t stay in face to face confrontation with a veteran. I see your true colors, shining through.
3JJ,no offense, but why not drop the i in your name and lay a junta on these cowardly, reprehensible, nutjobs? I’d pay to watch. 🙂
4Considering that the Park Ranger was continuing in her job, with no prospect of getting paid until Randy and his gang actually do their job, he’s lucky he didn’t get decked. What a twit.
5JJ – I think you will love this. The natives in Lubbock are getting a tad restless.

When your hometown newspapers starts calling you out…. you have problems. We can only hope…. big problems. Problems that overcome “gerrymandering” type problems.

8If only Randy Neugebauer (R-TXass) “Admiral of the Llano Estacado” could be torpedoed out of office (BTW, he’s a certified R-TX Chickenhawk).
Some shadowy Democratic “opposition research” group should look into the Admiral’s care and feeding of that yacht.
It ain’t cheap to keep a big, complex boat (don’t ask how I know). You’ve got yacht club and/or marina fees, maintenance and upgrading expenses, provisioning costs (fuel, oil, food, etc.), periodic haulouts for bottom work, etc.
And what may be the biggest expense of all for a larger boat with a ‘busy’ owner: a paid captain and maybe some other crew.
They don’t call it a B.O.A.T– “Bring Out Another Thousand” for nothing; AKA: $1000= a boat buck, a hole in the water you throw money in.
Digging into that might be a real political goldmine…
9I live in Lubbock and am mortified that that idiot represents me!
10unprintable
11Miemaw-according to reports yesterday, there was left over money in the SNAP program that is being transferred to WIC beforw rethugs can regroup and use it for tax cuts for their masters. WIC will be at least partially funded for this month.
12e platypus onion gets the prize today for “Noogerbooger”. I will certainly chip in for the grand prize of a Dairy Queen coupon for a free chicken-fried steak special. However, I may deduct money for the time spent cleaning red wine out of my keyboard.
13TexasEllen, Randy-pandy came within a hair of a butt-whippin’ in public. Those unemployed guys were capital T-totally pissed!
And as far as discreditable conduct is concerned, Fartenhold needs the same kind of treatment with a very strong althea switch! That duck pj’s and under-age girl photo will never die!
14JJ, once upon a time in my colorful youth I learned from the commodore of the Detroit Yach Club that you can pretty much judge the cost of a vessel at $1,000 per foot and that’s just to start. Sandridge, the monthly fees started at the DYC only after paying a membership fee to join that would have at some time in the near past one of those countries in Europe that are considered more like suburbs of the bigger ones. Randy-pandy is obviously playing with a lot of cash but its only the tip of the iceburg, the size that sank the Titanic.
15The only thing that kept me from puking my lunch out after seeing this arrogant sob belittle the young lady ranger (and she did tell him she wasn’t ashamed), was the fact that we may have ladies like Wendy Davis and Elizabeth Warren and others like these two working their way into our nation’s government.
These women give me hope for out future….heaven knows we males have had our chance!

maggie, that old $1K/ft has been affected by inflation a little, more like $15,000/ft now.
For example, a (used) 2009 52′ Searay Sundancer, like Admiral Randy has (as JJ wrote here: http://www.kissmybigbluebutt.com/june2009.htm#june29randy ), is on the market today at Yachtworld for just $679,000 ( http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2009/Sea-Ray-Sundancer-2411150/Miami/FL/United-States ).
He calls his Sundancer the “Fun Raiser” per JJ’s story.
17I tried to check the official USCG/NMFS/NOAA vessel documentation website to verify it today, but the website is “shutdown”, heh (the National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC)).
So the GOPers bullship actions are affecting many little known, but necessary for business, functions of the government too.
Funny you should mention the DYC, I was a junior at the Grosse Isle YC long ago.
Does every Repub politician in Texass look like Dick Armey?
18Keep in mind that this congressvarmet got his job due to the Delay redistricting and the insistance of the speaker to the house, Cradick.
19Yeah. I used to campaign for Charlie Stenholm in Abilene. Then suddenly Stenholm wasn’t eligible to run for Congress any more thanks to the redistricting.
20That was a Peace Corps administrator who took up for the ranger at the veterans’ memorial. He is currently furloughed and it’s a wonder he didn’t deck Mr. N…. on the spot.
21You can pilot your own 52, but I doubt he does that. Or does he use it as a floating condo? You know, the Coast Guard can inspect you anytime they want. Hmmmm, I think it’s time they paid a visit. and another one, and another one.. and BTW, someone put a camera at the marina. Old guys buy 52 searays for one thing, and honey, it ain’t fishing.
22Glad I don’t live in Texass. Pennsylvania is bad enough, but you guys down there have some real Prize-winning yutzes.
